Hi guys,

I have networked drive that I connect to at work, can you guys recommend a good free program to monitor the speed of that drive. For example if I where to transfer a file to it the data on the transfer, or if I were to open a file from the networked drive on my pc what the transfer rate of that is etc.... I know its probably affected by how many users are connected, are there any free programs out there that will grab that info as well?

Thanks, I'm not sure what WMI metering is? and I dont have access to the physical drive, just to my computer.

I took a look at http://www.samurize.com/ how would I use that to monitor the networked drive? Will I be able to tell how many people are connected from my computer?

Getting the data you seek is tough if you don't have access to that drive or the host machine. Do you have remote access to the host machine? I think you are seeking the data found here: Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Shared Folders. The subfolders there provide information on who is accessing what. To access the remote machine for this dialog (you are likely looking at your local data right now), highlight the top-level of the tree (Computer Management (Local)) and then select Action -> Connect to another computer. You can reach the remote machine in that dialog if you are in an AD environment.
