Stick With DirectX 10 Or Go Back To DirectX 9.0c?

Featured Replies

Everytime I check for a directX update it tells me tries to download Verison 9.0c. I usually close the page before it starts. I wanted to know if it is this possible to go back to v9 and if so should I downgrade based on my pc settings?

I think that its ok to install it. Im pretty sure you will still have dx10. I had that happen to me and I did download DX9.0c but when i did "Run" "dxdiag" it told me that i had DX 10 still. Im pretty sure but not definite. Mabie someone else could help you out more. :)

You'll need to install DX9.0c in Vista for the games that require certain (newer) DX9 components. Installing version 9 in Vista will not get rid of version 10.

in fact Vista AERO runs on DirectX 9 (different from 9c but it is 9Ex)

DX 10 is for future

current games an graphic apps need 9c files
