Hello need a little help with an upgrade

Im thinking of upgrading my computer. Currently i have P4 2.6, 1GB ram, 6600GT, MSI MOBO.

I have a very very tight budget i was thinking of buying:

Nvidia 7900GT 256MB

2x 1GB RAM DDR2

Low budget GigaByte MOBO

Intel Core 2 DUO E4400 2,0GHz/2MB/800MHz

And i don't want any DX10 cards! (YET :D )

And i want to ask another thing i know that there is already a post about CORE 2 DUO and DUAL CORE procesors. But how much diffrence is between CORE 2 DUO and DUAL CORE procesor ?

Here we go:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L, all solid capacitors and the latest iNTEL chipset good for 45nm CPUs and 1333MHz FSB.

CPU: Core 2 2160, or if you already can get one: 2180 @ 2.0GHz. Just half the cache of the E4xx0 series but same structure but a much lower price.

VGA: 7900GS/x1950GT, cost less and are not that much slower then the 7900GT.

RAM: Just plain and simple ADATA 1GB 800MHz DDR2 CAS5 1.8-1.85volt RAM, can be tweaked without getting to warm to 1000MHz.

Low budget? Then forget the Q6600 ;).

This really should be it's own thread. The other guy that asked the question lumped it in with upgrade questions as well...which is why it wasn't answered.

Simply: A Core 2 Duo CPU is a Dual Core processor. It is one physical CPU package, but behaves as if it were a dual CPU package system. The processor is built to process two threads at the same time, in the same way that Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) works. A Core 2 Quad CPU is a Quade Core processor, meaning it can process four threads at the same time.

The original Pentium 4's were not dual core. They had a feature called Hyper-threading that enabled Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). This was supposed to give performance equivalent to SMP, but in most cases it didn't. The only place it really worked was if the application was specifically coded to take advantage of both SMP and Hyperthreading at the same time. Most developers didn't even bother...
