alucke Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Hello, I upgraded from DDR 2100 to DDR 3200 today. Now Windows Vista Crashes every time. Could it possibly be that vista didnt like the upgrade?
nmX.Memnoch Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 It's more likely that your motherboard didn't like the memory.
Zxian Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I agree. Either the RAM is incompatible, or the RAM itself is bad. Download UBCD, and run Memtest86+. Let it run for a couple of hours. If it shows errors, then your RAM is bad, and you should return it
puntoMX Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Or just put the slowest RAM in sloth 1, and set your CAS, RAS and CAS to RAS setting on 3 to test it like that...
alucke Posted July 27, 2007 Author Posted July 27, 2007 I tested the memory with Memtest86+, and everything seems fine. I even set the CAS to 2.5 in the bios and its still crashing. Should i try to reinstall vista and see if that fixes the problem, or should I take the Memory out and return it to Newegg
nmX.Memnoch Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Before reinstalling...take out the new memory and put your old memory back in. I'm willing to bet the crashes stop...unless the new memory corrupted something. If the new memory isn't compatible with your motherboard it can test fine, but still cause crashes.
alucke Posted July 27, 2007 Author Posted July 27, 2007 I put the old memory back and it still crashes. I am gonna try to reinstall Vista
puntoMX Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I'm willing to bet the crashes stop...Almost wanted to bet .
nmX.Memnoch Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I'm willing to bet the crashes stop...Almost wanted to bet .That's why I added the stipulation. ...unless the new memory corrupted something.
alucke Posted July 28, 2007 Author Posted July 28, 2007 Now i reinstalled Windows OS. Everything seems to work perfect. then 15 mins after loading the desktop, the OS freezes. Any ideas???
puntoMX Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Sounds like heat is building up.Are all fan´s running well? When you touch the CPU cooler is it hot/warm?
