July 7, 200719 yr The problems I've found with the recent versions of FlashGet is that(1) it misbehaves with IE6 - the URL goes blank and gets dissociated(2) the 'new folder' box keeps cropping up whilst it is downloading and(3) it won't retain the icon settings Edited July 7, 200719 yr by plonkeroo
July 8, 200719 yr The problems I've found with the recent versions of FlashGet is that(1) it misbehaves with IE6 - the URL goes blank and gets dissociated(2) the 'new folder' box keeps cropping up whilst it is downloading and(3) it won't retain the icon settingsYep... Uninstall latest version (kinda buggy) and get Flashget v1.73. Works like a charm!
July 10, 200719 yr Author I had Flashget v1.72 installed in my PC, and its start changing file names (Fill Space In File Name With "%20" Word) so one month before i up graded My FlashGet v1.72 to Flashget v1.73But still facing the same old problem
July 11, 200719 yr Tried to install 1.73 but didn't quite work. I did have 1.9 installed but now I've ended up with a sort of hybrid which calls itself 1.8.6.1008! One day when my machine's not so fragile I'll have another go at 1.73 ...
July 19, 200719 yr Oops!In Flashget (whatever version), under File, save/backup your "default.jcd", exit FG (that nifty icon that overlays everything), go to the FG folder, copy it (and default.jcd.bak)to a safe place. Uninstall any/all Flashget. Reinstall FGv1.73. Try it now. Should work. The ".jcd" files are just a "history" of downloads. Can copy back (after exit FG) if you want, or proceed "clean".p.s. FG does not play well with files named out-of-standard; it WILL "rename" according to the filename in the HTTP/FTP location/name of the file. Only happens with sites with that in it. Requires knowing the "%xx" equivalents to ASCII/ANSI and changing them accordingly. Run into that on some of MDGx' stuff. Almost never happens. Only other "rename" is according to albator's comment.
July 28, 200719 yr @submix8c - Thanks for thatPS - FlashGet now up to v.1.9.2.1028 but it's still exhibiting the problems previously described.
