Back in 2010 I wanted to do this. I searched high and low on the interweb, trying to find someone else that had done it before. Unfortunately it seemed to be one of those things that confused a lot of people. I have set up my new Outlook.com e-mail account, but I changed my mind about the letters I want to use. Is there any way to go into the account and change the e-mail address by deleting a couple of letters while maintaining the account? Thanks for any help you can offer?
