  1. I'm thinking about removing this with nLite, but from what it says on the ElderGeeks website about it, I'm a bit afraid that it'll either mess my PC up or get me a bunch of viruses, spyware, worms, etc. How important is this service? Do I need a firewall if I'm running FireFox and not Internet Explorer? All the info and suggestions would be much appreciated.
  2. How do you remove Window's Explorer using nLite? Do I have to remove all the files myself before making the ISO?
  3. How would I go about removing the explorer using nLite? Do I have to remove specific files before I make the ISO?
  4. Does LiteShell completely remove the original Windows Explorer or does it just disable it?
  5. What shouldn't I remove during nLite if I'm going to install Adobe Acrobat Standard, PowerDVD, and Adobe Photoshop?
  6. Can I remove .NET Framework under Operating System Options in nLite if I'm going to install .NET Framework 3.0 after I install Windows XP SP2? Also, what exactly is CPU Transmeta Crusoe? It's under Hardware Support in nLite. I have a Intel 3.2 HT CPU, if that helps any.
  7. Whenever I try to put my ISO into Virtual PC 2004, it always stops at the spot where it says "setup is starting Windows". It just like freezes there. Is it the nLited ISO or the program?
  8. Has anybody actually tried to remove the Internet Explorer Core using nLite? What exactly would happen if you did? Just curious is all since it's always said to be kept. If all else fails then I'll try it and run it in a VM
  9. Windows Media Format 11 Runtime is a codec install so you can watch wma, wmv, asf, etc. on your computer when you completely remove WMP and the support for it using nLite. This is the actual file itself: http://free-codecs.com/download/Windows_Media_Format_11.htm
  10. What I need: 1) .NET Framework 3.0 2) ClamWin 3) Windows Media Format 11 Runtime 4) QuickTime Alternative Lite 5) Disk Redactor
  11. I know for drivers you supposed to add the INF file to your nLite install, but some of my drivers have more than one. Do I just add them all or what? What about drivers for like printers and gamepads where you have to connect it to the computer? Can those be installed using nLite as well? These are the drivers I'm trying to get integrated using nLite: NVIDIA Forceware 93.71 WHQL ViewSonic LCD Monitor Logitech Dual Action Gamepad HP Deskjet 3840 Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4 VIA VT6105L Ethernet Driver Some have more than one INF file and I don't know which to select or if some of these can be installed using nLite. Like my Monitor driver doesn't have an INF that I could find. All the help would be much appreciated.
  12. Is there anyway to integrate .NET Framework 3.0 into the Windows XP nLite install? If so, how?
  13. I want to get rid of all the ones that I don't need and keep only the IDE Bus Driver that I have. Where would I found what my IDE Bus Driver is? Only thing I could find by searching through my Device Manager is things with Intel before it. Does that mean it's an Intel IDE Bus Driver?
  14. So selecting to remove DOCS, SBSI, SUPPORT, and VALUEADD under directories is perfectly safe?
  15. What exactly does removing the directories when using nLite do? Will it screw anything up? I notice after removing them that the size of the ISO is incredibly smaller then keeping them. Are there any risks with removing them?
  16. Since nobody seems to know I just went ahead and added the entire folder where all the Driver files are located. It comes up with one for Nividia, one for C-Media, and 4 for VIA (network driver). There are also 3 that are unknown which would include my monitor driver. Should I just keep all the on the list or remove the ones listed as unknown and go ahead and instal them after I'm done installing if there is a problem?
  17. So I unpacked the drivers and I have the following files: for ViewSonic VX710, I have one file called Setup.ini (no INF file present) for Nvidia Forceware 91.47, I have one file called setup.ini and one called nv4_disp.inf for Network Driver, I have several INF files. There are two right when you open the folder labeled oemsetup.inf and FETNDIS.inf. If you go into the other folders though, there are more INF files. for C-Media, I have one INF file in the first folder labeled autorun.inf. Then There are two INF files in the driver folder labeled CMAZAL.INF and CMHDA.INF. Which files do I select to integrate the drivers into the nLite instal? I appreciate the help and advice
  18. This is the first time I'm trying to integrate drivers into my install. I've only made one other nLite instal disc before. I've searched the forums and can't find an answer. I'm trying to integrate the following drivers: ViewSonic VX170 Nvidia Forceware 91.47 WHQL Network Driver VIA VT6105 Rhine C-Media Audio Driver Bothe the ViewSonic and Nvidia drivers are in exe format and I don't know how to get the INF file. Both the Network and C-Media drivers are in a folder and have INF files. Problem is they have more then one INF file and I don't know which to include. I would appreciate some help.
