This is because Google needs to reindex the site using the new URL scheme. All the content is still available, but the URLs have changed. So some links are going to be outdated. It is a security feature of IPB where if you type in a URL it does not like, it logs that request (if enabled) and then redirects to the main forum index. You can change this to come up with a "cannot find this link" type page but then you'll still have to click the index to get back to the forum anyways. Skins and appearance changes are last on the list. Do not worry, they will come but right now we have to focus on the functional parts of the forum.

While I would be able to get you the source link to the real video, its going to involve hacking the site/files the player uses. As I suspected, I opened the WMV that is on that page and it does connect to where the real media is located and uses a variable to get it. This really isn't the place for this kind of thing. Your best bet would be to email the website and ask for access to the real file. However, it seems this topic has already been brought up here before.

I can think, you create a local system account on both systems. Then log in with those credentials and check the box to remember the password. It should not ask you to login anymore.

I run it on a P4 2.0GHz on a 865board. No CPU issues at all. Although you can install it on XP (and XP installer is available) it looks like its only designed/supported on 7, at least through the OEM channel.

Is there such a thing as generic sound card drivers?

What is the Hardware ID for this device? -
You won't be able to replace protected system files while booted into the OS. You will need to service Windows in offline mode, either via NTFSDOS or Win PE. I suppose Linux also but I haven't used that before. You are also going to have to replace the backup file, I think is in WinSxS folder so it doesn't replace it on you. Moving to the customisation forum.

Blinking text in batch-file
Tripredacus replied to HØLLØW's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
I still have some old software that was written in Q/BASIC or one of its derivatives. I have found that these old programs only run in Dosbox. For example, one of them I know is written in BASIC (based on the file headers of the EXEs) if ran in XP from double-click or command prompt will spike the CPU to 100% and not open. In DOSbox, it uses maybe 2% of CPU. It may have something to do with your other comments. I need to figure out myself how DOSBox works better, because this specific app I am using (which has blinking text btw) is abandonware and I wanted to update it. Only way I can find is a hex editor, unless you know of any BASIC decompilers. I can provide specific BASIC compiler info if needed. -
A lot of websites use wrappers to play videos, especially ones that want to keep the content secret. If the "video" is actually just the wrapper, you're going to have to do a lot more work to get the real file. Typically I've run into this where the file saved to the machine is actually used to connect to a secure server, and use either a cookie or temporary hash to authenticate and stream the content. I don't think I've ever seen a case where a DAT file is used, but I am guessing you actually don't have the video file on your computer at all.

XP install on compaq presario CQ60 - 214tx
Tripredacus replied to pacificblue03's topic in Windows XP
FYI, WinRaR gives this option also. -
When you capture your WIM initially, you can specify the compression type. Example: Unfortunately, you cannot change the compression level on appends, only the first time. However, you can export images and recompress that way, so this command may be more to your liking: Other command options can be found under the "ImageX Command-Line Options" page of the Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) User's Guide. This CHM is in the Documentation folder of the WAIK in the Start Menu.

This HTA is designed for Imagex only. You will have to customize your own version if you want to add Ghost support.

need to pruchase license w/o dvd. is that possible?
Tripredacus replied to adrian2055's topic in Windows Vista
Without going Open License, Volume License or purchasing an MSDN/Technet subscription, I am not aware of how you can. Only possibility is if you can find an NFR copy, which you aren't allowed to pay for. All I know is that a retail or OEM COA is not allowed to be sold without accompanied media. -
What happened to your computer? Did you not make or get your recovery media? If you have an HP with Win7, you also should still be under warranty.

Blinking text in batch-file
Tripredacus replied to HØLLØW's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
I'm thinking maybe going back to BASIC... If you can get QBASIC from Windows 95 (or 98?) you build scripts to do things like this. I also remember making cmdline/DOS programs like this that was able to run programs, display different info, and make text blink. Unfortunately I lost my old DOS and QBASIC books in a flood I had about a year ago, so only the internet is left. Here is a site that talks about using flashing text in QBASIC: http://www.qbcafe.net/qbc/english/misc/tutorials/beginner/starting-qbasic-2.html -
Oh right, as I said in PM (do not reply to the PM anymore) Put the files from the V71 zip into Mount\Windows\System32. So misc will be in system32 also. Imagex.exe goes in System32 too. This isn't the only way to do it, you can put them anywhere as long as you path everything properly. I just find it easier to dump everything into System32 because that is the default location after WPEINIT runs.

Gender, I believe, is a default thing that shows up in this new version of the board. The OS is just something fun.

Have you tried building your PE to not use the RAMDISK function?

That is interesting at least to me. I also have Klinefelter "Syndrome." I use quotes only because it isn't an actual disease, but a genetic coded difference from the average. As an example, my chromosomes are XXYY. In addition I have an extra set of chromosomes on my DNA as well. This was discovered when I had to get all tested up before I could attend college. They found these things and had me go in for all these tests but after about 6-8 months I withdrew from all testing. To this date I have had no problems at all and do not take medication for anything. I don't even take asprin for headaches. Research into Klinefelter is not 100% yet and the medical field does not know everything about it. I am going to say that it is likely that there are different effects it can have on different people, especially based on your story but your other thing (I am not familiar with it) may not help any.

There are a couple reasons why going to Win PE 3.0 is needed, but it depends on your need. You can still use the Win PE 2.x version if you want as long as you stay with the WAIK for Vista SP1. For me, once Windows 7 came out, we updated our Technician computers and Server with the OPK for Windows 7. The OPK is the OEM version of the WAIK, it is nearly the same except OPK gets different benefits depending on your partner level. Also, you need WinPE 3 to deploy Windows 7 or at least be able to get support on it from Microsoft. I had found out early on that the Win7 OPK (and WAIK) cannot modify legacy WIMs, ie WIMs created with previous versions. So In order to making new updates and be able to put drivers in the image, we need to stay on the same version. If you do not have this requirement, you can just as easily use the Win PE 2.x version. If you are using the 64bit WINPE you need the 64bit GImageX_COM.dll, download link is provided earlier in this thread.

Oh I can confirm that I am able to stay logged into the forum! But (no big issue for me) I am logged out of the MSFN Home which is weird.
