Finally opted for the Acer Which has similar specs to what I first suggested with the smaller screen 14 inch but not bad. All for around a grand not bad value I thought. It came with xp home which I put up with for a few days till I scoured it for non window drivers & added them to my ua source. My first go basically installed pro to the second partition but I then changed the ans file to repartition =yes & that sorted it . All in All very happy with the choice so far. Cheers MC

MAVERICKS CHOICE replied to clivebuckwheat's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Yes, by simply activating will avoid this or have a look @ Ryans site for an add addon to roll it back from 2.06 Not really the way to go tho? Cheers MC -

I have always used the method below to activate my os during ua, but now with the new ms patch windows interupts the install after the os has installed prior to runonceex & halts the install until I click activate windows now or later bla bla » Backup Activation Method To begin this method, you must have access to the system you're planning on activating, and have it already activated. For home users this is simple, as Windows needs to be activate after 30 days, and most likely you're planning on using your CD/DVD on this system. Once your system is activated, navigate to your system32 directory within your Windows directory, and locate the file WPA.DBL. This is your activation file. Once you have located the WPA.DBL file, copy it to $OEM$\$$\system32 in your Windows Setup Source. That's it, you're done. Remember that if you decide to use a virtual machine, that this method will fail, as the virtual system will look different to the OS from your host system. Am I missing something? Anything else required in the ans file to overcome this prob? Cheers MC.

Thanks salawinder, but the reason I requested you to add the registry tweaks was that I am not sure how the additions may effect the rest of the script, since I don't really know anything about scripting. Although I have been adding these on my own in all the different versions of the script so far and they have always worked for me. Infact since these are registry tweaks and not really linked to the script itself they should still work as they always have even with all older versions and builds. Anyhow, before I go claiming any credit and posting my modified version of the script, I have just run into a problem with the latest script posted by you. During the install the following error message comes up: I don't think that the error is related to anything that I have added although I may be wrong since like I said earlier I don't know too much about scripting. But going thy the script in trying to figure out if there was something I did to cause the error I think I may have identified the problem in the script. It seems that the following typo may be the problem: ; De-Select Nero Recode If StringUpper( $Opt6 = ) "N" Then <--- THE LINE WITH THE POSSIBLE TYPO Sleep( $DelayTime ) MouseClick ( "left" , 62 , 222 , 1 , 1 ) MouseClick ( "left" , 62 , 286 , 1 , 1 ) EndIf Based on what I have observed in the rest of the script, shouldn't the code read like this? ; De-Select Nero Recode If StringUpper( $Opt6 ) = "N" Then <--- THE LINE WITH THE POSSIBLE TYPO Sleep( $DelayTime ) MouseClick ( "left" , 62 , 222 , 1 , 1 ) MouseClick ( "left" , 62 , 286 , 1 , 1 ) EndIf Same here, yes that will do it just move the = to sort it. Cheers MC.

[RELEASE] Nero 7 Lite / Micro v7.7.5.1
MAVERICKS CHOICE replied to Acheron's topic in Application Installs
Just preferences I guess, Nero is very bloated no argument here. Cheers MC. -
Couldn't you try yourself to improve the script? hey. Cheers MC.

Yep, pretty sure from what I understand is what the man is seeking. Quote: I would not pay a compulsory fee for an autoit script unless it was personally written for me, to my specs, with the code becoming my property after payment - as I would do in a normal commercial situation & good on him. Guy has helped me out with a few scripts I made in the past mostly in tidying up etc & has never asked for payment. In my dealings found him to be a very reasonable person. On the other hand if I gave him a spec with a certain outcome required, like anyone I would cheerfully expect to pay for that service. Cheers Guys MC.

That be it. Cheers MC.

Haven't tried yet but does seven have the same nag screens following installation as six does? Is it just a matter of using the same cleanup script for the olrsubmission.exe as for six? Sorry for all the q's but I don't have the latest prog yet, just curious. Cheers MC.
-
I agree if a user wants a particular script etc. If not have a go themselves? Cheers MC.

7.0 is out? thought still in beta? Cheers MC.

[RELEASE] Nero 7 Lite / Micro v7.7.5.1
MAVERICKS CHOICE replied to Acheron's topic in Application Installs
What would really be appreciated is a silent installer that includes everything except the following: Nero Scout Nero Home Nero PhotoSnap Nero PhotoSnap Viewer Nero MediaHome InCD Nero ShowTime Nero BackItUp Nero SoundBox Now that the old 'AutoIt Script' for nero 7 no longer works for the latest nero release such a installer would really be very usefull for a lot of people for whom space is not issue but the presence of certain nero features is. Specially the crappy Nero Scout and Nero Showtime. Maybe you cna just guide us as to how we can make such an installer. Thanks, Sanjay I'll second that. Cheers MC. -
Yeah Thanks Guys @clintb specs are little over the top there for me basically another machine to use @ home mostly for the wife & children etc. A budget of around $1,200 to $1,400 AUS With the Acer etc they come with xp home standard, I have two lic copies of pro that I know I can use on me desktop & also the notebook, Eula allows. Is there any forseeable problems in simply wiping the drive/partitions & installing xp pro sp2 on those, not keen on home? Cheers MC.
