hey all, right whats the best way/program to change all my icons and incorparate them into y xp unatended cd?? without needing a big bulky program like stardock, i know i could hack all my files but htats gona take for ever and i have a program called icontweak that works great but doesnt or at least i carnt get it to work on a untended cd because theres no registry entries for it or anything that sets what icons it uses for what so it needs seting up after each install so can any1 help? thanks

hi is it possible to change the icon for .txt files and have it so when i install my unatended cd it has that icon automaticly? is there a file i have to hack?

ive sorted it now , if any 1 is intrested over the last 2 days ive tried 28 different setup creation tools both shareware and freeware and the only ones able to place shortcuts in a custom folder are cyberinstaller suite and setup factory 7

or could some1 help find a switch for setups made with cyber installer?

hey, thanks the registry entry works great for hiding it and i can incorparate it into my xp cd is there a way to add to that so that it automaticaly sets the recycle bin to delet files instead of sending them to it?

thats obvious the origanal post wa sin the customise xp forum section people loking for app switches arent going to go looking there are they when theres this section for application switches

hey, im including some freeware games from caimen.com on my unatended cd these come with out an installer so i have to make the setup file my self which usauly id use strum install wizard but also on my xp unatended cd ive got a built in games folder were when it installs a game included on the cd i want the shortcut to be placed, so my problem is how to do this? astrum only allows for shortcuts to be placed on desktop/startmenu/quicklaucnh ive tried alot of diferent istall builders and foun 1 called cyberinstaler suite that allows total customization of were the shortcuts are palced etc and ive tested this and it works but the setup file that it creats is some form of compressed file and i arnt use any switches with it so any got any ideas? or know a install builder with this tyope of shortcut customization ? thanks

hi is there a tweak that allows you to either hide or remove the recycle bin of desktop and set it to "use one setting for all drives" and "do not move files to recycle bin, remove files imediatly when deleted" ?

hi ive got rocketdock http://www.punksoftware.com/rocketdock its a kewll freeware object docking tool and i want to have it on my windows unnatended so when i start its there all setup ready, at the moment ive got it all set up with my custom folders etc on it but how do i incorparate this into xp unatended setup? would i have to make rocketdock install from wpi and add registry settings? Thanks Edit - ive figured it out, rocketdock comes in its own self extracting setup file and no switches work on it so ive extracted and recompiled it using astrum install wizard, and it now installs using the "/silent" switch, ive atached the recompiled ersion at the bottom incase any1 wants it also for the registry if you install it on your current system get all the icons how you want them then go into your registry and export the folder [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RocketDock-v0.9.4] then just add this .reg to your setup in wpi just be sure to recreate the file structure eg if you changing the icons and your using ones from say C:\windows\themes then copy them all into the corrosponding $OEM$ folder

hey, ive downloaded the dx redistribute file and extracted it into a folder inside of wich it puts 9 files, 1 setup, 2 dll's, and 6 rarfiles/cab files, to install this do i copy this folder into my wpi/install/applications folder and install it via the setup file like any other program? or does it have to be installed differntly? on the main page its got "Extract from the .rar file and then copy DX9NTopk.exe to \$OEM$\$1\install\DirectX9b\ The DirectX 9.0b OPK does not require any switches to silently install. Add the following commands to your existing batch file: ECHO. ECHO Installing DirectX 9.0b ECHO Please wait... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\DirectX9b\DX9NTopk.exe" so im confused on this, any help is apreciated thanks

ok ive found another possible method http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=9878&st=0 in which it says "Before you continue, patch your uxtheme.dll by one of the following two ways. 1. Probably the easiest solution would be to download the uxtheme cab file extract it, and place it in your i386 directory" but none of the links to the patched uxtheme.dll work can any1 help

Hey, ive just finished installin windows this time wpi runs and out of the 6 applications i tried to install ( nero, dc++, savepic, 7z, winrar, winamp) only 2 (nero and 7z) worked an error message pops up on the ones that didnt install and i click ok then it goes onto the next app in th elist, just before wpi starts to run i get a cmd window pop up and it says cdrom found path wrong or somthin laong those lines if its important ill have to reinstall and try to write down what it says before it closes, ive gone into my config in wpi for the apps that didnt istall and the paths in the cmd lines all seem to be right for instance winamp the path is '%cdrom%\WPI\Install\Applications\Winamp521\Winamp521.exe /qn' im using the right switch acording to the referance page so i dont understand whats not working, any help? thanks
