  1. ya I got my MAC filter on too,and the encryption is on too, with a hex code and stuff, I just want to physically disable it, maybe by removing a diode or resistor on the circut board. This thing gets hot as hell so it must be transmitting.
  2. PCI-X is somewhat backwards compatible with a standard PCI bus and its early extensions. Originally the PCI bus was a 5 Volt bus. Later, in PCI Revision 2.x the PCI bus was a dual voltage interconnect. In 3.0 this was changed to 3.3 Volt only. The PCI-X bus is not compatible with 5 Volt cards. However, generally most newer PCI and faster devices will run in a PCI-X slot, however, they will limit the speed of the entire bus. For example a PCI 2.3 device running at 32-bit and 66 Mhz in a PCI-X 133 bus will limit the total throughput of the bus to 266 MB/s. To get around this limitation, many motherboard have separate PCI-X channels, allowing for better backwards compatibility, and higher total bandwidth. PCI-X is also more designed to be more fault tolerant than PCI. For example, PCI-X has provisions to reinitialize or deactivate a faulty card before a total system failure occurs.
  3. I want to MAKE SURE that this box is not transmitting or recieving, anything. Anyone know a way to clip a diode or something to disable the wireless part and still have the rest fuctional ?? I disabled the ssid but I see the WLAN light flash's with the WAN and LAN light when using the internet, I did remove the antenna too.........

  6. I change my MAC to do exactly what azagahl said, to ditch idiots and forums that ban my IP. My IP is dynamic, but sometimes it won't release, so I change the MAC. A MAC is like this 00:E6:A5:54:A3:3D. I can just make them up easily but it would be nice to have a program to do it quick. A program that runs on 9x.......
