No, makecab seems to use it's own cab compression. WinRar couldn't make a shell32.dl_ that would copy correctly but makecab and cabarc could.

It sez system restore needs IE core, not IE core needs system restore.

You could make a batch that copies i386 to windows. e.g. SetLocal enableextensions Set xpdsk=%~d0\i386 cd %xpdsk%\ copy .\i386 "%systemroot%\Backup" I don't think copy.exe can copy folders so you might have to use robocopy from the windows 2003 resource kit.

A great addon idea, zc_au, use InstallRite or something and make a cab that installs both MsgPlusLive and WLM. You could have a cmd file to launch both.

OMG! Download IE7 from the M$ download centre. Where you choose what to do in nlite, choose "Integrate hotfixes or an Update pack". Browse to your downloaded IE7 setup. Click OK. CLick next and it will integrate.

Even easier, change the file extension to .CAB and open it without bothering with "Open With..." dialog box! This should be made a sticky, lol.

kb835221.exe for Realtek HD ONLY (no others) can be integrated via svcpack.inf or "kb835221.exe /Integrate:<path_to_source>" switch. It does integrate in nlite, I use it. Not all cabs and exes display version etc info.

I have about 10 hotfixes on my hd, but have the i386\update\update.exe structure but I've lost the original SFX exes but I clean my system with tuneup disk cleaner and it stored a backup. I know you can slipstream service packs like this but can I integrate i386\update\update.exe or do I have to make a switchless installer of them into svcpack.inf? Just so I don't have to redownload them again. Thanks.

You know how when you open IE7, you have to wait a bit before all your toolbars etc get loaded and you can access the web, and during the wait time, you can't go to a website. Well, most of the time, it crashes for me and whe it doesn't, it takes ages to load. I only have 3 BHOs and no toolbars. How can you patch it? Thx

In the same dir as your win source, there is a file called last_session.ini. Take it out and you've got your settings You use "import and load" and point to that file to apply the settings to your source. Your last session in nlite is autosaved to last_session.ini

You integrate it as a hotfix in nlite. C ya...

If there is a block but not a tick by e.g. win.ini, only part of win.ini is processed.
