Volatus: not a nice thing to say. if you don't have anything positive to contribute, maybe you should just move on... by your post it definitely shows who the donkey really is g0t0: always a pleasure to be of help mate.

oh yeah i forgot to mention, the 900325 that i put in HF is repacked as well to install silently and not restart. this is working fine for me so far. i feel i might even be saving a bit of time this way as hfslip doesn't have to go through the obsolete patches inside 900325 when the newer stuff is already present in HF. anyways, i've been running into a new problem now. one of those IE7 patches is messing up MMC which keeps crashing on me everytime i open it with an ieframe.dll error. dunno what that's all about. anyone else mentioned that to you ? opening services.mmc brings up the screen shown in mmc1.jpg. clicking on "To see what data this error report contains" brings up the screen from mmc2.jpg

hi tommyp/tomcat. regarding KB900325, is there any particular reason why you would recommend not extracting it ? see, what i've done is extracted the thing and included the hotfixes within to the HF folder, while KB900325 itself (the extracted one) goes into HFGUIRUNONCE. The reason behind all this is that all but one of the hotfixes inside it are obsolete having been replaced by one patch or another. the only exception is KB895961 which updates termsrv.dll which I've put inside HF and discarded the rest. Also, i've extracted and repacked 925766 so that it reboots the machine once installed from HFGUIRUNONCE (since a reboot is required anyways). I've numbered the two hotfixes so that 900325 gets installed first followed by 925766 followed by mandatory auto-reboot

try this list of patches I'm using for my setup. I have IE6, DX 9.0c and WMP 9 and MSXML 6.0 SP1 slipstreamed and then there's one (optional) patch from Windows XP SP1 (qfecheck). This all works perfectly with the latest test release of HFSLIP. Give it a shot if you want.

just got done playing with new build of win2k. everything works great now! qfecheck working, MS06-078 (KB923689) installed and showing up properly checked in MBSA (tho still no sign of it in HFNetChk. Aw hell, ya can't win 'em all can ya ) thanks tomcat. purrfect job!

I just downloaded a new IE7-XPSP2 patch KB933812 from xable and on extracting it was surprised to discover that it contains two separate versions of jscript.dll, the one in the SP2GDR folder is v5.7.0.16450 while the one in SP2QFE is v5.7.0.20550. I was wondering which of the two hfslip would integrate/slipstream and why? The one with the larger version number? What exactly would be the difference between the GDR and the QFE patches?

[Release] Microsoft Windows Defender v1.1.1593.0
johndoe74 replied to johndoe74's topic in Application Add-Ons
absolutely! let me know how it works -
actually i wasn't using 70316a. it was only this morning that I saw the changelog and it occurred to me that it wasn't 70306 (v1.4.1) which I was using that supported qfecheck but 70316a. I've hfslipped using 70316a but haven't had a chance to install it yet which I'll do ASAP and get back to you. As for the issue with HFSVCPACK_SW I guess it must have come from reading Vorck's guide cuz that's how I first got started with HFSLIP - and that's how it shows on his guide - WMP9 setup in HFSVCPACK_SW. thanks for all the help. i'll let you know regarding qfecheck

try this: Language: ITALIAN File Size :: 4.36 MB (4,570,350 Bytes) MD5 :: BB4DD5FF38681CC3D7B5AE5A78A0DAD5 Main :: FileFront -
oh! i thought all three were supposed to be in the hfsvcpack_sw folder ? cuz wmp9 was getting slipstreamed by hfslip. anyways i've moved all three to HF (yes rootsupd is the roots certificate update) will do a new build and hopefully there won't be any issues. btw qfecheck is not getting installed either. i removed the win2k patch and replaced it with the xpsp1 patch and when hfslip got to that patch it showed "0 files copied". thanks for all the help

whoa! i never noted the driver size! i did look up the installation instructions and it looked like the appropriate driver to me and true it may be a comprehensive driver covering a lot of chipsets but how in the hell is a person gonna fit THAT much on a floppy ? weird people :S btw, doing a search on the name of the .EXE came up with this. seems someone else before g0t0 has already been through this problem. I'd suggest doing what iCrash did, textmode + all drivers. I'm downloading the drivers myself to investigate further...

maybe you want to try downloading this driver: Gateway Notebook Computer Intel SATA Support Driver Version: 5.5.0.1035.

[Release] Microsoft Windows Defender v1.1.1593.0
johndoe74 replied to johndoe74's topic in Application Add-Ons
which language ? -
i know. some of their patches are really really messy. i noticed the five different variations of wmvcore.dll. in addition now you mention it checks another variable (wmfdist) for installation. as if there weren't enough complications already!!! but what about HFNetChk ? it doesn't even mention MS06-078, whether it's installed or missing. can u figure out why that would be ? (i did use the updated mssecure.xml). also, did you notice any other issues/problems going through those log files ? (i know there were two different 282784s, wink2k and xpsp1 of which I removed the one for win2k but apart from that). thanks!

you're very welcome!

how about this. save a copy of the original/unproblematic file from your source location then integrate ryan's pack and after integration is completed put that saved file back into your source overwriting the updated file I'd say go with the file from SP2 as I don't think it has been modified in any other patch apart from 911280 (i have over 500 post SP2 patches and it was only in this one)

tested and working perfectly via RUNONCE -
updated first post. Updated SPTD to v1.42 (same as test version here)
-
dunno how that works. never made any vista addons...
-
also another Win2K issue. The patch KB923689 (MS06-078) shows up missing under MBSA while no mention (whether present or not) of it is made under HFNetChk. The hotfix is, of course, present in the HF folder. Log files attached.

only one file is updated by MS06-025 --> rasmans.dll
