  1. The silent insatller works beautifully, thanks a million, only one problem: why is it incompatible - at least in my case - with the silent install of Office 2003 (produced according to the Unatended Site)? Sorry guys, my mistake! It was my office that wasn't working all that well, but now it's OK.
  2. Oops, now you've lost me... But maybe you can help me out (and yes, I'm a newbie!). Where does this comandline go, and what kind of file should this be? Best, Sangi
  3. Hi everyone, I hope someone here can help me out! First of all, I'm a newbie, and needless to say, I'm seriously confused. The only method I know for installing Apps is RunonceEx, and my Nero is the following: Nero-7.0.1.4b_eng_no_yt.exe 1. Do I have to extract this file to get both Nero.msi and Setupx, or not? 2. If I use yvyvyvyv's method,: And I take it he is using an extracted Nero Update, how can I adapt this to my RunOnceEx method? Would the following work? Using this RunOnceEx method, where would I put the reg file? What should the command for it be and where should it go? Would I have to add another command to my cmdlines.txt? Best, Angie
  4. Hi Pirrup, I've been trying to adapt your method to my RunOnce.Ex, but I've still got a few, typical newbie problems : Your command goes as follows: This is my adaptation for RunOnceEx (all my other programmes have used this sort of template): Should it work? Do I have to add the reg file, and if so, where? Best, Angie PS. The worse thing is, I can't seem to test this on VMWare, I have to do the full installation ..... Actually it didn't work! But I turned to the administrative install method, and that did the trick alright...
  5. Hi guys, Forgive my stupidity, but I'm using RunOnceEx: 1. Where do I put this reg info? 2. Does it require a special command in cmdlines.txt? 3. Does it require a special command in RunOnce.cmd? If so, does this command come before or after the command for the programme itself? You see I manage to register most of my progs in my RegTweaks.reg which I call at the very end of RunOnce.cmd, without having to add anything to my cmdlines.txt, but with this one I tried both before and after and it wouldn't work... Best, Sangi
  6. Hi everyone, I joined this Forum about one month ago with no knowledge whatsoever of computer programming (which I still lack) and to my surprise I've come out with a fully customised Windows XP Pro with all the updates and over 30 applications. Now, judging by the level of most of you here this may seem unsurprising, but if you're a total 'newbie' (another word I learned here...) like myself, believe me, it's quite a feat. It took me the best part of a month to get it right and many embarassing mistakes, but I was determined not to ask questions before getting it done, at least not before I had some idea of what I meant to ask. But, by reading the Unatended Guide and your posts to exhaustion, by alternating nLite, svcpack.inf and RunOnceEX, I finally managed. So, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you. I'm over the moon! And a special thanks to Ryan VM, Nuhi and the author of the Unattended Guide, you're just brilliant! Cheers, Sangi
  7. Fantastic, I wish there were progs like that for everything!
