  1. As far as I could test it, everything works to perfection! Nice one! Thanx a million!!!
  2. Thanks Salawinder, I'll wait for as long as it takes! Bye for now.
  3. Hi All, As you will have noticed Nero 7.5.1.1 is out and the previous script works no more I tried to adjust the old script both in terms of the page ordering, which has changed significantly, and mouse clicks - the numbers there have also changed - to no avail... So here's my plea: does anyone know how to fix this? I've attached my modified, non-working script below in the hopes that it may serve as an inspiration to others, but sadly it gets stuck right after the programme is extracted! Salawinder? Glowy? Sanjay? Anyone? PLEASE HELP!!! Wrong_Nero7.5.1.1_Script.au3
  4. Hi TD, I still haven't been able to test your recommendations: I'm going to try both, because if copying the file also overrides the preexisting one, the syntax will be useful for me in other programmes! About getting bold within a quote, well there is an order as to what should be added first: 1. bold, italic, etc.. 2. colour; 3. size; 4. quote!
  5. Thanks again, I'll try that and get back to to you as soon as possible.
  6. Hi ScubaSteve, Thanks for your swift reply, but unfortunately I don't know enough about computers to be able to follow your instructions You wrote: 1.What should the batch file contain, that is, what syntax? 2.What should be it's extension? .Cmd? 3.Where should it be placed? In the same folder as the application in point, i.e. in this case, in the ZAP folder alonside the programme itself? 4.How do I call it on my Runonce? This is what I have now (with no batch file): REG ADD %KEY%\059 /VE /D "ZoneAlarm PRO" /f REG ADD %KEY%\059 /V 1 /D "%PP%\ZAP\ZAP.exe /s /i /noreboot" /f I know that asking for the syntax is probably too much, but if you can point me to a place where I can get instructions, I'd be more than happy! Thanks again, Sangi
  7. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me: I have a general question : How can I copy a file, say into C:\Windows\system32, overriding a pre-existing one? Here is a sample case: When I install ZoneAlarm Pro, it automatically installs a trial license file zllictbl.dat into C:\Windows\system32, but I'd like to replace it with my licensed zllictbl.dat so that the licensed version is unattendedly installed. How can I do this? PLEASE HELP!
  8. Djé, Your script is perfect and I'm glad to have been of some help in testing it! THANX
  9. Hi Djé and everyone else, I've been trying to use Djé's perfect Babylon 5 script as a basis for Babylon 6, but it didn't work, just as I expected... I know nothing of scripting so all I did was a little exercise in copy/paste, as well as minor changes where I thought they were applicable, but they were obviously wrong. I only got as far as page 1, and after that the dialogue boxes wouldn't move unless I clicked them. Unfortunately it's just too complex for me... So now I was wondering if Djé or anyone else feels that they might be willing to help me out. PLEASE!! Well here's what I did : 1. I installed Babylon 6 and took note of the pages' headings, first line and choices, and this is what I came up with (NB. Anything after semi-colons are just comments); As you can see, it's quite different from Babylon 5; far shorter and with slightly different choices. Where there is a bracket with (default) it means that these are the choices that will be made if I just click next at the bottom of the page, and where you read [-> No] it means that I wanted to change the default settings. 2. And here is the script I came up with (I edited some of Djé's instructions/ comments out for better visibility):
  10. elajua Thanx for you explanation. After reading it, however, I have one or two doubts. You say: (1).In my previous Acrobat SFX, which functions really well, but which was NOT activated, I added the serial to the MST produced by InstallShield Tuner for Acrobat, and that part went fine. For this ACTIVATED version, do I have to edit Abcpy.ini or can I go on doing what I was doing before? (2).I did not copy any registry for my non-activated version, do I have to this time? Or do I simply ignore steps 1) and 4) , just adding the license .dat file to my SFX? (3). I followed your instructions and located the .dat file, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it. Am I supposed to add it alongside the other files in my Admin Installed Acrobat folder before making the SFX, i.e. before clicking Add to Archive on my WinRar? If so, does it just go with all the other existing files or does it go into a specific folder? Thanks again!
  11. In my WINNT.SIF, AutomaticUpdates=yes is indeed under [Data] but UnattendSwitch="yes" is under [unattended]. I don't know if this makes a difference, but then it might....
  12. payskin, You ask: I should think so since it is exactly what I used. I added it to mt SVCPACK and then added the following line to my SVCPACK .INF: Good Luck
  13. salawinder, I realize the script is yours, so I appologise for not making this clear enough. The thing is you both came up with scripts as you updated them, so that I rather ruthlessly referred to them according to whoever had done the posting. Sorry!
  14. Guys, You've lost me now : 1. Whatever the mistake was on Glowy's last scripts, all I want to know is whether it would affect Nero's performance, does it? 2. As I understand it the previous scripts seemed to have a problem regarding different options: i.e. different options would lead to different outcomes, so here's a copy of my options: And I seem to have got most of what I wanted: (i) Nero StarSmart, Nero Express, Nero SoundTrax, Nero WaveEditor, Nero Burning ROM, Nero CoverDesigner, Nero CD-DVD Speed, Nero DriveSpeed, Nero ImageDrive, Nero InfoTool, Nero ProductSetup, and they're all working! (ii) Neither Nero Home nor Scout are anywhere in sight. (iii) As for AutoPlay, is that the thing that when you load a CD into the computer it gives you the option to open it with Nero? If so, it has not been installed, and here's my feedback: NO I DON'T NEED IT! (iv) Shortcuts: as mentioned earlier, I bypassed the Script and solved it via my Cleanup.cmd (Both Quicklaunch and Nero Scout). Now, here's what I want to know: what is the difference between Glowy's two last scripts? Apart from the seemingly embarrassing mistake, of which I was, am and wish to remain blissfully unaware, what has changed? PLEASE let me know!
  15. salawinder & Glowy, Thanks again! Now here's my feedback: Glowy: As you suggested, I added to the last line of the script, and it worked: no more Nero Scout taskbar! But as you yourself mentioned, the Nero Scout Start menu link is still there... salawinder: Your last sript eliminates the Nero Scout Start menu link, but the taskbar is still there. As Mavericks Choice mentioned, neither script add a shortcut to quicklaunch (NB. The script was duly edited to (y) for that option). So, I cheated : since I know nothing of script writing I used Glowy's last one and deleted/added the above mentioned shortcuts through my Cleanup.cmd. With no knowledge of script writing, I simply wouldn't be able to deal with the taskbar issue.
  16. salawinder, YES, it works now!!! Thanks a million: Tomorrow I will test it on the more general computer installation (as opposed to VMWare) and I'll let you know how that works. Oh, and I added my plugin serials to my regtweaks and that worked fine too! I would like to suggest that you add this great script to the AutoIt Scripts sticky! Sanjay, This is much better than fiddling about with MSI files: quicker and smaller. And, yes, if you care to edit the script you CAN customise your settings. But it gets better, Nero Scout is NOT installed, which is great (for me and many others I suspect!)
  17. salawinder What I mean is that it hangs after the last dialogue box, the one which says [Finnish]. It seems to close down, or at least there are no more dialogue boxes, but my RunOnceEx hangs, that is, it does not move to the next application, and seen as it does so for all the others, I suspect that Nero is simply not closing down. My RunOnce works for the other applications so again, I suspect this is NOT the problem. I hope it's not me that is getting it all wrong, but I did exactly what I told you in my first post. I'm also using VMWare, which you said you haven't as yet tested, but here again, it works fine for my other applications, so I find it unlikely. Thanks for your consideration!
  18. First of all salawinder and Glowy: thanks so much for the help, I wish I could be of some use, but since I don't yet know how to write scripts, I guess I have to limit myself to testing! And that I did... salawinder I've tested your new script in my VMWare, and although this time it did not hang at the Custom Setup dialogue box, it still hangs after the dialogue boxes close down, i.e. it won't install! Glowy, You said: Would your script work for Nero-7.2.0.3b_eng_no_yt.exe, i.e. the English only version? I'm particularly interested in the hide the unpacking screen bit: does it mean we wouldn't get to see the dialogue boxes on the screen? You also said: Well, since I haven't been lucky with the new salawinder script, at least not yet, I would be very happy to try yours! Could you post it?
  19. Hi salawinder, ThanKs a lot for the script, unfortunately, I've just tested it on VMWare, and everything seems to go well up until This is when it starts to hang! (I waited for 10 minutes...), which is perhaps what you were expecting. If I click [next], it continues unattended up until the end, i.e. until the dialogue boxes end, and then it hangs again: the installation of the other software on my list is halted (and here I also waited for 10 minutes), which means I ended up having to abort the process. I'm calling it (i.e. the compiled sript) from my RunOnceEX.cmd, with the following command: where Nero7.exe = the compiled script, but I don't think there's a problem here, otherwise it wouldn't even have started. Finally, I didn't change anything in the script, except for adding my serial number, and from what I could see, that seems to have worked fine. Did anyone else have the same problem? Please help!
  20. Thanks, Jazkal, I'll definitely give it a try. And now an apology to the site administrators: I seem to have missed the topic on AutoIt questions, despite having used the search function, so if you would like to redirect it to that thread, please do so!
  21. There are lots of AutoIt scripts and information on where to dowload the application itself everywhere in this site, but here is my question: How do we incorporate these AutoIt scripts into RunOnceEx? Believe me, I've looked everywhere, even in the AutoIt site, but I can't see the missing link, i.e. say I download one of the scripts available in this site as well as the AutoIt software, what do I do next? Where do I place the script and how do I get it to work? What do I do with the software? In other words, I just want to use what is available here in this forum and incorporate it to my RunOnceEx.cmd. I certainly do NOT intend to attempt writing a script myself since it's way beyond my very limited computer knowledge. I honestly hope I'm not the only one with such a limited knowledge, but even if this is the case, can anyone help me out? Sorry for my ignorance!
  22. Forgive my ignorance, but much as I read through all this thread, I still haven't figured out wheter it's possible to silently install this via RunOnceEx. If so, what would the switches be? Is it possible to add my key to it? That is, how would the red bit (i.e. the switches) have to look? REG ADD %KEY%\024 /VE /D "Nero" /f REG ADD %KEY%\024 /V 1 /D "%PP%\Nero\Nero-7.2.0.3b_eng_lite.exe /???????" /f I admit there are some hints here and there, but I guess they're too advanced! Can anyone help me? :blushing: PS. Without Nero SmartStart , how do I license my plugins?
  23. Thanks for the swift reply, I'll try that ASAP...
  24. Hi there, I wonder if anyone is having this problem with shortcuts: I used keytotime's guide on adding shortcuts, and went on to use the same syntax for other software and most of the time it worked, only it would always create a working shortcut and an empty folder with the same name in the desired place. So, for instance, if I wanted to create a shortcut for Nero Burning Rom in the Start menu, I would get the shortcut and an empty folder, by the same name... Would anyone be so kind as to advise me on where I'm going wrong? Here's the relevant part of my Cleanup.cmd: NB: The first statement is OK, it creates a folder inside which the shortcuts - and the empty folders...- go. It's the other two statements that matter. By the way, I placed XXMKLINK.EXE in /i386/ and modified both DOSNET and TXTSETUP according to the instructions given. I hope this isn't too silly, but hey, I guess I need help! 20.01.06 - I think I can now understand what happenned: my statements were duplicated, i.e I had an 'If exist..." and an "XXMKLINK..." for every shorcut I wanted to add.... rather embarrassing, really!! Well, I've worked it out now, so it's OK. Thanks for the help and the suggestions!
  25. Hi there, I'd be more than curious to know how you managed to shrink Proofing Tools: when I install mine it only takes up 172MB (for 6 languages) but my admin install is 1.20GB which weighs heavily on my DVD. Do you think you might be able to help me out? And do you happen to know if it's possible to slipstream SP2 onto it? Best, Sangi
