  1. You need to install PG2 RC1 @ http://phrosty.phoenixlabs.org/pg2-rc1/ run cmd and type: "bcdedit /set advancedoptions" (no quotes) That will bring up the F8 screen on every boot so you can choose to disable driver signature enforcement. When you run PG you will need to open it as administrator as well or it will not load the driver. If you're not a retarded noob who gets viruses or breaks your windows install doing stupid stuff then you'll probably want to open cmd and type: "net user administrator /active:yes" (no quotes) to enable the administrator account for 24/7 use and that will automatically open programs in administrator. You will need to log out and log into the admin account.
  2. after you format put this in a command prompt before deleting the normal user: net user administrator /active:yes It might be a good idea to open cmd with administrator rights when you do this.
  3. On an XP system BF2 needs 2GB of ram for a completely smooth gaming experience. Now you're using vista which is probably using half or over half of your already small available RAM.
  4. Thanks dude. I'll give it a shot when I'm home.
  5. I find it quite lame that when I click on a folder containing mp3 files it brings up an entry to shop for music online. I've searched everywhere in the registry and can't seem to find the key that gets rid of this crap. Has anyone else tried and had any luck removing this?
  6. I meant it was nlited when it did work... It's still nlited, but I don't recall which version I used when it worked as this was several months ago and I'm sure I've changed several removals since then.
  7. About 3 months ago I installed XP x64 off my flash drive using your method of multibooting the vista and xp installs and it worked just fine. I wonder what it is I did to get it work. It was heavily nlited as is my new XP x64 source so I don't know if I've changed anything my removals that could have gotten around this check.
  8. Hey, devil, you wouldn't happen to know why I would be getting an NTDETECT failed message when I start my XP x64 install off of my USB flash drive, but not in VMware off of a .iso file would you? The files are exactly the same, just copied to the flash drive. Vista x64 is still loading fine off the USB drive so I'm not sure what is going on. I used the bcd commands in this order: bcdedit /store H:\boot\bcd /create {ntldr} /d "Windows XP x64 Install" bcdedit /store H:\boot\bcd /set {ntldr} device boot bcdedit /store H:\boot\bcd /set {ntldr} path \I386\SETUPLDR.BIN bcdedit /store H:\boot\bcd /displayorder {ntldr} /addfirst bcdedit /store H:\boot\bcd /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes bcdedit /store H:\boot\bcd /set {default} description "Windows Vista x64 Install" bcdedit /store H:\boot\bcd /default {ntldr}
  9. The driver packs you made yourself are also good for Vista right? Asus' site has older versions of these drivers and they seem to be xp/vista all-in-one so these should be no different unless I'm mistaken.

  11. I actually tried that earlier this morning after reading a guide about this and it didn't work. Thanks for trying to help though I really appreciate it. I still haven't read far enough into all the info or maybe I misunderstood something I did read so if there's anything else I can try I could use the help.
  12. So I've got this disc I'm making multibooting Vista and XP x64 using this method which is working out great since both Vista and XP x64 are in the root. I'm trying to add XP 32 bit and I've copied the contents of 32 bit windows installation disc to root\32 and I've got the vista bootloader menu loading up root\32\i386\setupldr.bin and it goes to start the install, but while it's inspecting the hardware it gives me the error "INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing, status 14." How exactly can I get setup to run properly and install files out of the \32 folder? P.S I've already tried changing setupsourcepath to "\32\"
  13. Thanks that worked out fine. I have an entry for XP x86 on there now, the only problem is when I actually try to install it. I created a folder called BALLS and copied the x86 nlited (even tried un-nlited) disc to this folder. When I start the install I get a message about the txtsetup.sif missing or being corrupt. I have the bcd path set to \BALLS\I386\SETUPLDR.BIN. I thought it might be failing because the entries inside of txtsetup.sif had entries like "\I386" and I changed them all to \BALLS\I386 and so on for any directory entries it had, but I still got the same message. If anyone knows what's going on I could sure use the help.
  14. I have Vista x64 & XP x64 booting fine using this method. Is it possible for me to add a third entry for XP 32bit? I try to use bcdedit /store Y:\USB_AIO\boot\bcd /create {name} /d "Windows XP Install" and it tells me the indentifier is invalid. When I put {ntldr} it just tells me that the entry already exists.
  15. I've read through the stickies and the unattended guide thing, and I was either not looking hard enough or the answer was not there. Is there any guides or a person who could guide me through booting xp/vista/linux install off of one dvd/usb flash drive? I've gone as far as following this guide and I successfully have XP x64 and Vista x64 installs booting, but I'm absolutely lost when dealing with getting the vista boot loader to load up a linux loader.
  16. I do not install that hotfix. Even if I tried it will not install. Right now I'm on a fresh install with no attempt made at installing that hotfix. x64 is in my sig, but sorry for not mentioning it as I know a lot of people don't look at sigs.
  17. As the title suggests, when I use the 'bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS' it does not actually work. When I type bcdedit.exe I can see that the setting took effect and it's right there in the loadoption area, but the signature checks still take place after a reboot unless I use the F8 method. Is there any particular reason why this would not be working for me?
  18. Thanks bro, somehow I really suck at searching as I did not find any of those posts.
  19. Is it possible to install XP (or vista) for that matter off of a flash drive?
  20. Also can't install 932596 on vLite install. 80004005 error code. Last_Session.ini
  21. No. I had originally searched google for the error code I was getting but found nothing because I had made a typo of 800F0826. Now that I've caught that it said it means another update has failed which caused a chain reaction of other updates to fail, I seem to have found the update that was doing it and I'm gonna see if I can fix it myself. If not I'll update my post and seek assistance.
  22. Nearly all updates fail. **update: appears to be caused by KB932596 which others have reported @ http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...7&hl=932596 Last_Session.ini
