Which ahcix86.sys version do you use? This are one line each: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CriticalDeviceDatabase\pci#ven_1002&cc_0106] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ahcix86\Parameters\PnpInterface] And there is no space char. Forum display is funny. Adjust the reg file.

You are sure? Expect some month to create a fine solution. There are two modes at XP install: from (USB) CD and from local internal hard disk A CD solution won't work at hard disk. XP setup dosn't support a USB hard disk. You have to cheat XP setup to use a USB mass storage devive. Apporaches has been discussed here "Install Windows from USB". Read all previous messages here. Read some history first If you boot from USB and like to run setup: Setupldr.bin is the setup loader. To run setup chainload setupldr.bin. Or boot a PE and preapre local internal hard disk intallation.

Include a driver relating your mass storage controller.

Yes, burn a bootable ISO image to DVD-RAM. Install XP from DVD-RAM. DVD-RAM won't be bootable, adding single files to a random acceess DVD-RAM.

Well, the reference was related to "at a Windows XP installation CD". It's recommend to change the version: if you create a Windows XP installation DVD and add a 5GB file like to read hard links and add files once like to use correct time stamps or use the integrated find Yes, that's the most current official release: The author http://cdrecord.berlios.de/ refers this precompiled Binaries. Current sources are at ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/ That's a fork based on sources from 2004. This fork is different supported and was included in cygwin distribution. Overall default integrated version is very reliable at default nLite conditions.

How to install Windows from USB- WinSetupFromUSB with GUI
cdob replied to ilko_t's topic in Install Windows from USB
Shutdown your machine. Disconnect the 'TOSHIBA TransMemory USB Device' and the 'WD Ext HDD 1021 USB Device'. Boot your machine. Attach your USB devices. Run WinSetupFromUSB. Which hardware, motherboard do you use? -
That's a nice idea. I used mkisfos and oscdimg.Oscdimg -u2 create UDF file system only and add big files. Oscdimg dosn't support big ISO9660 files. Maybe hence the missing setup support. And mkisofs -iso-level 3 at big ISO9660 files. Big files are possible within ISO9660:1988.
-
Windows setup does behave strange: Given a 4.4gb install.wim file: File system UDF only: Windows setup.exe does read install.wim. Installation does complete. File system ISO9660 only: Shift F10 command console does dir a 4.4gb d:\sources\install.wim file. ImageX does successfully read install.wim. And can extract files: imagex.exe /apply d:\sources\install.wim 9 C: /verify However Windows setup.exe does NOT read install.wim: "A requird CD/DVD drive driver is missing ..." Bridge file system ISO9660 and UDF: Shift F10 command console does dir a 4.4gb install.wim file. Windows setup.exe does not read install.wim Conclusion: Windows setup.exe does prefer ISO9660 before UDF, but dosn't read a big ISO9660 file. Finally: I've no solution to a multiboot Windows XP with a big Windows Vista/7 install.wim file.

This version is by reanimatolog http://bootcd.narod.ru/ and isn't supported since 2004.Duplicate files linker (DFL) is intetgrated (-duplicates-one), nLite does use this feature. This unofficial version did include a minor time stamp bug at daylight saving. And adding files is limited to 2gb size. You may ignore this at a Windows XP installation CD. Why do you need a new version? Any version with -duplicates-one. uid0 did named a version already.Yes, include cygwin dll files at a cygwin version. DFL is from 2003. Cygwin is updated since, inodes are handled correctly nowadays. Today -follow-links and/or -cache-inodes does work correctly. You may create hard links at hard disk first and run a current mkisofs. Duplicate files are added once only.

Congratulations. Which hardware do you use? Which BIOS require the USB boot fix? Can you try a updated setup.cmd? Remove fixBoot.USB at txtsetup.oem. Setup.cmd should add fix boot autmatic. setup.7z

cdob replied to judas15k's topic in Install Windows from USB
That's a UBCD4Win question and there is a UBCD4Win forum.Recovery console use either \cmdc\ or \cmdcons\ directory. Behaviour reminds to edited OEM windows source files. http://ubcd4win.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5221&st=15&p=56047entry56047 If this fails still, ask at UBCD4Win forum. -
Delete the file isolinux.cfg. Update isolinux.bin, use the current version. Use BCDW 2.01a bcdw.ini /knop/isolinux/isolinux.bin; Knoppix 6.2 ;; /knop/isolinux/linux initrd=/knop/isolinux/minirt.gz knoppix_dir=KNOP ramdisk_size=100000 lang=de vt.default_utf8=0 apm=power-off vga=0x311 nomce quiet loglevel=0 tz=localtime mkisofs -iso-level 4 -r -o ..\RescueCD.iso -b bcdw/loader.bin -hide bcdw/loader.bin -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -log-file aaa.txt .

@filantrop Edit the "reg file for nForce AHCI systems.reg" file first, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE lines are split to two lines. Combine these to one line first.

How to install Windows from USB- WinSetupFromUSB with GUI
cdob replied to ilko_t's topic in Install Windows from USB
Windows dosn't support 4 partitions at a removable disk. How did you created 4 partitions? Do you use a filter driver or set a fixed disk at firmeare? If you use a removable disk, add the filter driver to BartPE too http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?s=&showtopic=21113&view=findpost&p=142544 The same problem cause the same result. -
1394.IN_ is locatad at LBA 12403. That's a copy file, read after textmode boot.1394BUS.SY_ is locatad at LBA 3320. This file is required at textmode boot. Flag file RAMBOOT.LST is locatad at LBA 153880. SMSS.EXE is locatad at LBA 281600. This file is not loaded to RAM./I386/ is sorted. /I386/SYSTEM32/ is not sorted. Strange /I386/SYSTEM32 is part of sort.txt already. Does exist a directory /I386/SYSTEM32/ at hard disk? Case is importand. Try a updated mkISO_RAMload_sort.cmd: Attachment removed, use version from XP_INST_v05.7z at first post.
