The wpi.cmd file calls a much needed .reg file and also implements tools and sets the %wpipath% = %cdrom% variable. For smaller WPI setup that don't run too long WPI.hta will serve just fine (like 5 - 10 small apps) any more than that and you will get a "scipt on this page is causing explorer to run slowly" type error. WPI.hta will work ok but if you don't need the extras and your WPI is small but I would reccomend using wpi.cmd for full functionality.

WPI.cmd opens WPI.hta and performs other needed tasks so please use wpi.cmd.

So you do like a lot of us do and make a fully seperate WPI disk you can us at any time or even if your are brave let a friend use. For the most part you only have to change one setting in the wpi.cmd file to make WPI a stand-alone disk. i.e %~dpo needs to be changed to %cdrom%

After some testing I want to narrow it down to 6 BROAD categories and I will tell the secret of what to do to add in more of your own.

Okay I can add in some selected categories to choose from. What I need is your recomendations of what categories you would like in there by default. I have already added in: Applications System Office Games Yes you will still be able to pick a custom category but I will add in like 10 - 12 pre-set options.

Okay post your wpi.cmd, generate,js, config.js and write the folder layout you want down. I will make the needed changes and we wiil try to get this working for you.

Things are not really that easy my friend. You will have to do the work on your own. Most apps are really easy to do once you get used to it. As for some of the most difficult apps to do like .net framework, adobe reader, sun java you can look here http://ryanvm.msfn.org/ and find them and for the rest serching the applications section in the unnatended part of this forum will ussualy net you the answers you need YAY 800th post.

I always just use numbering and dependancies to solve any of these type of issues.

This question has been asked before and as of yet no answer has been figured out. I am still looking into at least making a set of "suggested" categories to choose from.

The ones your talking about a probably instances where the previous app needs the system to be rebooted first to finish installation so a process is still running in the background that is halting the current atempt. Maybe try PSKILL ar taskkill? One of the apps that will stop a process. and use it as one of the commands so that the next one can go on its merry way. If your are still needing to pause WPI to finish an odd install look at this thread they have been working on this. Personally I use WPI to install over 175 apps, programs and games and have never had this issue.

WPI automatically waits for the current project to finish before going on to the next one. There are a couple of rare issues with some auto-it scripts or apps that have caused WPI te begin the next task before the current one has finished but these errors have been Uber-rare!!!!

WPI 3.6.2b This is only different because it already has the fix in it for forced installs!! Not an official release yet. Otherwise it is exactly the same as 3.6.1.

WPI comes pre-configured with over 50 apps that should be enough of an example... For app switches use the universal silent switch finder included in WPI 3.6 and higher (You can find instructions for it in the user manual included in WPI also [in the tools section]) And isn't that 2 qeustions?

Okay the one for 1024x768 seemed to go over well so here is an optionswizardtemplate.htm that I optimized for 800x600 resolution. As usual just overwrite the file in your WPI\Common folder.

Thank you for the update for Romanian language. I wouldn't be sure how to read version info from one single location. However, I am comfortable with updating all languages for version info. It only takes a second.
