  1. It is a known issue that IE7's iernonce.dll breaks RunOnceEx. This isn't HFSLIP's problem. Nevertheless, the previous three test releases deleted that file for this reason, but that's irrelevant now since the current version no longer slipstreams IE7. I want to say, though, that I cannot back up your claims. The HFSLIP folder is properly removed here, and I have no problems with the Advanced and Security sections of the Internet Options dialog either. The only issues I could confirm while HFSLIP slipstreamed IE7 were the broken thumbnail view in folders and the missing icons in the User Accounts dialog. You don't have to take my word for it when I say the problems you were experiencing weren't HFSLIP's fault. Just ask anyone who has attempted to slipstream (!) IE7.
  2. Krose-- Can you give me the TXTSETUP.SIF from the SOURCESS folder? Thanks...
  3. Yes; I tested it The changelog of the current test releases doesn't contain anything that wasn't requested. Be careful when you say "non-essential"... Why? And what's wrong with WMP11? Then don't add IE7, because that's the product that's broken -- not HFSLIP. HFSLIP is already doing more than it should be doing in that regard. As I said, I'll let HFSLIP do an SVCPACK install if I can't find a workaround for the known issues.
  4. ? I must be blind, then. I even did a search...
  5. It's been postponed. IE7 and WMP11 are quite the headache, heheh...
  6. Who's complaining about that? Windows setup or HFSLIP? To be honest, the only way I know to pre-insert the key is via WINNT.SIF. But HFSLIP doesn't touch, modify or create that file so I'm not sure how that could've happened.
  7. The latest test release has almost complete support for it. I'll finish it up in the next one
  8. Hi krose I'll examine your log file in a bit. I can't confirm it myself.
  9. @the_guy What "upload section?" @boooggy Do you know by chance which file(s) are responsible for the "known issues"? - thumbnail view broken - no graphics in User Accounts dialog (show up as red X) - autocomplete broken in Run box
  10. Forgot to mention that, since HFSLIP 61129a, iernonce.dll from IE7 is deleted. This doesn't fix the known issues with IE7 but at least RunOnce installs shouldn't be broken anymore.
  11. @boooggy... Don't know if you realize this, but this is the HFSLIP forum. I can't tell every non-English person to call MS for something that I consider a "severe" problem which requires a public update. Calling MS will only help myself. @the_guy... WMP11 wasn't really "locked" for other languages since its slipstreaming was introduced into HFSLIP. It's just that the first test release didn't copy over the relevant local binary from the wmfdist11 subpackage for non-English languages, but that's taken care of now in the latest release. The only problems are that localized versions of WMP11 are still "bad" (at least the Dutch one) and there are no public updates for non-English msobmain.dll files. There's an unofficial German XPSP2 update pack floating around. I'll see if I can do something with that for the German folks.
  12. Nice post count KB894871 is non-public too. Believe me... I already did an extensive search the other day and the KB898543 hotfix was the only "downloadable" I could find. This is how I also figured out that the missing background music on the post-setup wizard when slipstreaming WMP10 is a known issue to MS... @boooggy... Nice to see you here Contact MS? Sure... And then make the links public?
  13. Localized versions won't be supported. They still break Windows (themes, network connectivity, Event Viewer logs, etc.) and there are no localized versions of KB898543 or any other public hotfix which updates msobmain.dll to fix the msoobe error.
  14. It implies that HFSLIP has replaced it with the newer version present in KB885836. HFSLIP doesn't modify binaries. Please read my second post in this thread because it explains why you are having a problem.
  15. You probably misunderstood me. That's a file in SOURCESS\I386. Check if it's newer than the one in SOURCE\I386.
  16. You downloaded directx_oct2006_redist.exe?
  17. It doesn't *have* to be the WinXP version; you can use the one from SUPPORT\TOOLS\SUPPORT.CAB on the Win2K CD too.
  18. DOS-based and network-based installs should be supported for a while, now...
  19. Upgrades and repair installs aren't really supported when using HFSLIP. You should do them at your own risk.
  20. Hi ndr64 KB917275 isn't supported yet but you can try extracting msdrmclient.msi into HFSVCPACK_SW. The MSI will be silently installed. Windows XP SP2 already contains DirectX9c. The CAB files on my list for that OS are extra gaming binaries which you can find inside the DirectX installation executable. To extract files from MS executables, use an advanced decompressor such as 7-zip or WinRAR.
  21. Thanks. That works

    Some Issues

Hi irflach Problems 2 and 3 are known issues when slipstreaming IE7, along with the broken Thumbnails. Your first issue is new to me but that's because I always disable auto-complete. I suspect it's related to the IE7 slipstreaming as well. Does anyone else have this problem when slipstreaming IE7? Nevertheless, I'll check it out.
  23. Hi 3398495 The problem with KB885836 is curious. Which program are you using to verify if hotfixes were slipstreamed? Search in the HFSLPxxx.INF files in the SOURCESS folder for one that contains the text 885836, and see if the file mswrd6.wp_ has been renewed. There's something fishy about the KB917734 update. When slipstreaming WMP11 (not possible yet with the public builds), Windows Update also wants it to be installed even though it doesn't apply to WMP11. This hotfix namely updates wmp.dll to version 10.0.0.4036 (dated April 29, 2006) while WMP11 contains wmp.dll version 11.0.5721.5145 (dated October 18, 2006). I'll see if I can work around this somehow.
