  1. Fixed. Thanks for reporting this, ctpoon...
  2. I'm sure that's because of the duplicate-driver removal file. But even if there are any other removal files in ctpoon's HFCLEANUP folder, it doesn't matter because I could confirm the problem without them.
  3. He isn't using HFCLEANUP... It looks like I fixed the problem. It's either the "DriverVer" line, or the extra variable I use for "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones".
  4. I tried with an extra INF that's called from [HiveInfs.Fresh] but that didn't work. Setup complains about an internal error. Oh well... It looks like the timezone updates for non-English versions of Windows will have to be installed from SVCPACK.
  5. This could turn out to be problematic. Non-English HIVESFT.INF files are in Unicode, which I can handle, but special characters are lost. I had the same problem when updating the part of the code that determines the language of the Windows source. I hope I can get this fixed...
  6. retalv--- I can confirm that Power Shell doesn't install at T-13, but I've no problem with .NET 2.0. I used an old version of the Foxy addon (extracted & copied 00dNET20.exe into HFSVCPACK) which doesn't yet include the latest two hotfixes for .NET 2.0. I have done several tests last night but nothing worked. I'm going to see now if it works at first GUI logon. We're nearing in on a new final. I want to do two more tests: - Power Shell at GUI logon - remove workaround for Win2K OE 5.5 inetcomm.dll binary to see if new version is OK
  7. Hi Sgt_Strider HFSLIP doesn't do unattended installs; it slipstreams hotfixes into a Windows installation source. Hotfixes are extracted, and the files inside them are copied into the source, replacing existing files. The *.cat files are copied over as well so Windows setup knows that the updated (or new) files are OK. During Windows setup, the necessary registry settings from the hotfix installation INFs are applied so Windows Update knows that they have been installed. Silent installers, MSI files and some hotfixes are not slipstreamed; they're integrated into the SVCPACK folder to be installed at T-13.
  8. It's possible the extra update for WMP11 is responsible for this. It may be incompatible with XP Home. I don't have a copy of Home Edition at hand so I can't test this myself. Please remove WMP11 and KB898543, and try again.
  9. I'm afraid I still can't see the problem. Does setup still restart if you re-use the current final to build the new source? Are you using "custom" entries in the hfanswer.ini file?

WindowsMedia-KB911564 was released as part of February 2006's patch day. You probably mean WindowsXP-KB923689, though that update does not apply when slipstreaming WMP11. There's also KB926247 (Vulnerability in SNMP).
  11. This is due to the hard coding of most of the timezone changes (the essential registry edits that are made when running the tzchange.exe tool with the switches and values outlined in the installation INF files of both timezone updates). But it's less than 61214a which was 184.6kb large...
  12. They actually do work overtime... Insane...
  13. @retalv: Which OS version? @Kiki: That's for "Outlook Express 7" which isn't made available for pre-Vista systems. I think it's an error in the search engine.
  14. There's something fishy about the Australian time zone update. When I include it, my time is pushed forward by 2 hours and 30 minutes during the post-setup wizard. I'll see if I can somehow work around this and also embed it into a setup hive so you can have it during Windows setup already.
  15. You need to type I have read the instructions before you can continue...
  16. Very subtle, SM...
  17. Hi tendaq What does the error say?
  18. Please use the latest test release. It installs IE7 at first GUI logon. Also, remove these hotfixes... directx_oct2006_redist.exe -- HFSLIP doesn't block this so all its content is copied into your new source. KB927977-nld-x86.exe KB927978-enu.exe -- You already have the correct files with the msxml prefix so why these? Same problem as above. WindowsMedia9-KB917734-x86-NLD.exe wmcsetup.exe wmfdist95.exe -- These are hotfixes for WMP9/10. WindowsXP-KB917344-x86-NLD.exe WindowsXP-KB922760-x86-NLD.exe -- These are hotfixes for IE6. You can already prepare the above, but I'd wait till tomorrow when MS release their December round of hotfixes.
  19. Can't see a problem there. Just for fun... Could you remove everything in the SOURCE folder and re-copy the CD? It might have gotten corrupted. AVG was recently under the impression that MIGRATE.DLL is a virus and deleted it without asking for your choice.
  20. I just tested the "GUI version". I got no copy error (and it installed at first GUI logon as expected). I can't have HFSLIP slipstream IE7 because of the problems. I'll look into it again next year.
  21. @clintb-- This is because HFSLIP always adds additional files. What you can do is place a clean XP Gold source in SOURCE again, extract xptosp2.cmd from xptosp2.zip into your HFSLIP folder and run it. This will update your source to SP2. You can then use it as a base for how many HFSLIP runs you like.
  22. The problem is I usually don't get a lot of feedback... LOL
  23. Ausmith1-- I don't know if you're aware of this or if it's of any use to you, but HFSLIP can handle files to be placed in the following locations: * WINDOWS/WINNT and its subfolders (copied during txtmode copy; use HFEXPERT\WIN) * Program Files and its subfolders (copied when SYSOC.INF is parsed; use HFEXPERT\PROGRAMFILES) The only systemdrive locations that aren't covered yet are the root of the systemdrive and Documents and Settings. More info here.
  24. OK, guys. Try the latest test release; it installs IE7 at first GUI logon.
