  1. I'm aware of Xp Antispy and RockXP. Are there any equivalent apps for Windows 2000 Pro? Thanks in advance.
  2. I've been wondering if enhancements, Plus packs and other such apps are compatible with Windows 2000? I'd appreciate any help.
  3. My machine came with Windows 98SE. It was tolerable, but I got enough blue screens to put me off. I stumbled upon Windows ME and gave it a go. It boots noticably faster, and I experience very few blue screens. With Tweak UI and System Restore Remover I've been able to tweak it quite a bit...for a nontechie. I like Windows ME. I guess that makes me an apostate.
  4. I have been attempting to upgrade to Windows 2000. The Dialog greys out the Upgrade option leaving me with just the clean install. How can I remedy this?
  5. I got this error message trying to install Windows 2000 Professional: "Windows 2000 Setup Could not detect the version of windows you are currently running. Setup cannot continue." What's wrong?
  6. My ME runs without major incident, thanks to the aforementioned site. I was looking for that 'extra something'. Oh, well. There will be others. Thanks for the reply.
  7. I've noticed all the chatter about a service pack for Windows 98SE. Is there any in the works for ME?
  8. I second that recommendation. I've been using it for about two years. I get extremely few spam mail. I can block ads and as a result speed up my browsing.
  9. Grettings. I'm new here. I have gotten tired of the typical elitism on some other boards. If it's not the Linux missionaries it's the 'Get A New Machine' lobby that has put me off. I've been running Windows ME for about three years on a six-year old machine. I have tried XP on a laptop and easily grew exasperated with it. I'm not a techie. I'm not a coder. I'm not a hacker. I do not worship at the temple of the latest hardware, either. I just refuse to get a new machine or operating system.
