  1. How do you make the computer reboot first, then apply the batch and registry tweaks?
  2. Well, it's better then the first 3 months I was living in the new house. The electric bill alone was over $400.
  3. Yeah, I live in California. The prices here are insane. My current electricity bill ranges anywhere from $150-$300. Of course, It's been really hot here lately...
  4. I've heard of this problem before. I also seem to recall seeing the solution to it at the site piaqt mentioned.
  5. Redistributing the Longhorn beta is illegal. Here's a novel idea, go sign up to be a beta tester with microsoft.
  6. One has to wonder, why would you want to test out an alpha operating system? Yuck.
  7. Also, I found it handy to have 2 hard drives installed, and just continually testing the automated install on the secondary hard drive, then switch back to the primary hard drive and continue developing.
  8. Strange... Did you try adding the user account BEFORE trying to add the other stuff? My main_batch.cmd file's first few lines are this: ECHO Adding User "Valkyre" net user Valkyre /add net localgroup "administrators" Valkyre /add ECHO. ECHO Applying Registry Tweaks... REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\regtweaks.reg ECHO. Check your code, make sure your adding your user account before anything else. (Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
  9. That still isn't as funny as when undercover FBI agents were able to smuggle over 8 grenades in duffle bags through airport security at LAX. This was after 9/11 too.
  10. Windowblinds 4 only uses 2MB RAM. The default msstyles engine that is built into Windows XP takes up twice as much RAM. I just turn off themes and use Windows Classic. Feels more native.
  11. Thanks webmedic, I was searching all over the net for this!
  12. • Let Windows choose what's best for my computer • Adjust for best appearance • Adjust for best performance • Custom I want my unattended setup to automatically set the performance options to "custom", and disable all visual effects except for these 3... • Show window contents while dragging • Smooth edges of screen fonts • Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop How do I get those 3 to be enabled by default? Also, is there a way to tweak ClearType with the registry, like when you use Microsoft's ClearType web site tunner? Thanks!
