I think that KB2845142 fit in there (MS13-057)
wmv9vcm.dll (codec)
For IE 6, 7 & 8 updates, there is only English & Japanese language options for download

I'm not saying who knows more or less, my point is this:
IE8 is high-priority. WMP11 is software, optional. RDC 7 is neither.
RDC7 replaces RDC6 as those HBR replaces other updates (call it 'time zone' as example).
You will find out that Microsoft did mess up something in the update lists.
Okay, here is some basic info:
4. WMP11 and RDC7 are optional.
WMP11 and RDC7 are optional.RDC7 is an upgrade but I don't see any good reason for it to be installed.
RDC7 is optional (as much as those Previous SP3 updates and XPS-Printer + HBR) for us to install and replaces RDC6 with its updates , is not optional for windows updates and i don't see why it should be removed from the updates list.
Wondering if i'm being something clear.
0 -
All of them are optional.
Have you seen Table 1 in Mim0's updates List?
When you have every IE6 Updates and hide IE8, there you'll see IE7 (and after install IE7, IE7 updates) and the same happens if you have WM8 updates, you'll see WMP11 and if you hide it, you'll see WMP10
There is RDC6 in XP and i think if IE8 is high priority, IE6 updates shouldn't exist in updates list (i'm not saying in WU).
RDC7 replaces RDC6 as those HBR replaces other updates (call it 'time zone' as example).
AD or Active directory updates has been removed because in no way exists any AD version in XP.
When i install XP updated, windows updates shows Windows Live Essentials as optional update but it is not in the updates lists (and i don't care because i don't use it). Do you wonder why?
I'd like to have some more people help to make this matter clear.

I believe that RDC 7 is not part of an standard XP install.
You are right, is not standard as much as IE8 and WMP11.

There was no KB-Article available on 22. May (see here) after that, I've forgotten this update. Thanks for remembering me!
2012-10 MS12-072: Windows Kernel should be removed, is one out of three.in the update list.
Yes, it should really be removed (but it is MS12-068)
I wonder why when i read that post and saw your typo
but i don't know why i typed 072 when i really saw 068, maybe i got tired + dark room and no beer & no coffee at 11:48 PM
Thanks for all what you do.

I don't know what your talking about, guys.
It is a High priority update, WU asks for it, it's not optional.
And, the KB article says it doesn't replace any older update.
It doesn't says anything.
Extract both and you'll see which file is replaced (because is only one).

@Mim0
I have found that:
* 2011-02 - MS11-011: Windows Kernel KB2393802 is not being replaced ( not for now because it contains ntdll.dll )
* 2012-10 - MS12-068 Windows Kernel - KB2724197 is being replaced by 2013-02 - MS13-017 Windows Kernel - KB2799494 This update hasn't been removed from the update list but in the changelog says it is being replaced by MS13-017
2013-02 - MS13-017 Windows Kernel - KB2799494 is being replaced by 2013-04 - MS13-031 Windows Kernel - KB2813170 This update has been removed from the update list
* 2013-04 - MS13-031 Windows Kernel - KB2813170 Last windows kernel update
I do not use 'The File-Checker', does it still includes KB2724197?
* This update in the updates list
"2012-01 Microsoft Foundation Classes Update ) Hotfix KB2584577" appears to be released on 2011-11 in the request hotfix page

Long time outdated, just got started updating.
Checking the changelog, i have found that:
Added:
KB2647516 (MS12-010: Internet Explorer)
Removed:
KB2618444 (MS11-099: Internet Explorer)
But in Update list, at "Table 4: Non-security updates for Internet Explorer" shows an older one:
IE8: WindowsXP-KB2618444-x86-XXX.exe

there you go:
in my case, the desc. is in spanish (another issue, you will have to make a pack for EACH language, not a good idea)
I think I will offer two CABs... one with updater inside and another w/o the updater. This is probably the best idea. Not everyone likes to have the autoupdater service running all the time, especially on a slow computer. Also, as jvidal said above, it'd have to be created for every language separately (you can just use the English version though).
SWFLASH.CAB always has been released in English, if you want to make sure, just extract swflash.ini en look for:
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\%GUID%","Locale",,"EN"
Since found out, i do my own cab with the right "language set" whenever i have time:
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\%GUID%","Locale",,"ES"
How to verify it is installed and working in english?
Go to youtube and play a video
Right click inside the video and read the menu. Is the menu in your language (other than english)?

there are some things that need clarification, like what is replaced by 2631813. According to MS bulletin, it replaces 975562, but according to dziubek, it replaces 2282612.
And KB2585542, according to MS bulletin, it replaces 980436, but according to dziubek, it replaces KB971737 & KB2541763 .
So, what is the final word on these ones?
Plus, 2632503 is listed as optional...
bye!
KB2631813 replaces KB2282612
KB2282612 is a HBR & replaces 975562KB2585542 replace optional KB2541763 - optional KB2541763 replaces KB980436
KB2585542 updates schannel.dll & winhttp.dllKB971737 includes winhttp.dllKB2541763 .includes schannel.dllKB2632503 fits in Table 4, go to Mim0's xp update list page & look for it.
You can do a research by yourself, don't takes too long (i did it only to give you an explanation).

For the next updates release, there will be 5 xp related updates out of 6 windows security bulletins:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms12-jan
But that doesn't mean all of the 5 updates should be needed, will see next tuesday on January 10, 2012.

Sorry to bother MiM0 (again).
There is no need of OGAControl.cab (Table 8) for Microsof Update to work anymore since last year:
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/microsoft-quietly-shuts-down-office-genuine-advantage-program/2798
I have it removed from HFCABS for months now, because i can update office 2007 with no problems im sure ther is no neeed of.

If you use the complete WindowsXP-KB2618444-x86-XXX.exe in HF then there is no need to grab the shdocvw.dl_ from it an put it to REPLACE\I386.If someone can test the need of:Empty dialog when opening "Organize Favorites" from Windows ExplorerAs an alternative you can extract the shdocvw.dll from WindowsXP-KB2618444-x86-XXX.exe (SP3GDR), compress it with makecab.exe to shdocvw.dl_ and place it to REPLACE\I386.
To put WindowsXP-KB2618444-x86-XXX.exe in HF is more convenient. But to use the current shdocvw.dll is the minimal solution to avoid problems described in http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/69809-hfslip-test-releases/page__view__findpost__p__913457
I stop using shdocvw.dl_ a couple of months but i think just a few people use to work with "Organize Favs" within windows explorer, sorry for not paying attention to "windows explorer" confusing with "windows internet explorer".
But if im right here, we should use SP3QFE instead of SP3GDR and that hint needs an update.
KB2481109 (MS11-017: Remote Desktop Client / RDC 6) replaces KB956744 (MS09-044: Remote Desktop Connection)I'm pretty sure that hfslip uses the QFE version of hotfixes.
I've looked into HFSLIP: HFSLIP uses QFE and - if QFE doesn't exist in an update - HFSLIP uses GDR.
(good to know after using HFSLIP for years!!!
)

Greets MiM0
If someone wonders (like i did):
"MS11-098: Windows Kernel" Not Replaces "2011-02 MS11-011: Windows Kernel" because MS11-011 includes ntdll.dll and MS11-098 does not.
If someone can test the need of:
Empty dialog when opening "Organize Favorites" from Windows ExplorerAs an alternative you can extract the shdocvw.dll from WindowsXP-KB2618444-x86-XXX.exe (SP3GDR), compress it with makecab.exe to shdocvw.dl_ and place it to REPLACE\I386.
As much a i have tested, i have no problem with spanish language (ESN).
Thanks for

Or at least flag 'em as optional.
Not needed unless you install Active Directory onto Windows XP, it shows as Important (high priority in WU).
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=forums§ion=findpost&pid=981568

The Active Directory, created by Microsoft, is software that runs on a Microsoft server. Active Directory helps maintain the smooth performance of all users on the directory by separating all objects into three main groups. The "users group" are the people who log onto the server; the "resources group" covers printers, scanners and fax machines; and the "services group" is basically the emails sent by the users. When installing Active Directory onto Windows XP, the installation must take place under the administrator's name, otherwise specific options will not be available.
If it is not included in windows xp
then it needs to be removed from XP Update list.
because do update nothing.
IMHO

Just wondering...
If Old changelog:

Then New changelog:
# KB2616310 replaces KB982000
