If that's true what's up with this screenshot link if you look at the copyright it says 1999 is it faked?

    MS-DOS 7.1

Anyone know any more info about this? link also, does anyone think it would be possible to replace the dos files on the windows 98 cd with these?
  3. this is just an FYI for everyone the tweaknt time bomb remover does not work. I tried it out on a demo version of xp at school then set the bios clock one year ahead and poof WPA says my trial has exspired I think what's going on is when you install a trial version of windows it checks your bios clock then add's however long you demo is to a digitaily signed file so no way to replace it without windows not working, and it doesn't matter what you set your clock to. when I set it backward to 1980 it gave me an error message saying my clock is wrong I need to fix it, not even letting me log in. P.S. if you don't belive me try it out yourself
  4. it looks like this could be done after all if you look in the new guide for the multi-boot dvd it shows you how to make a new setup.exe with auto play media studio so I've been ripping out the bitmaps and giving it a try but I'm not the best at it so if someone else wants to try, I'll keep at it too and we can see what we have. Maybe someone who knows the program better could help?
  5. I was kind of hoping for this too because then I could make an unattended workstation install script for 2k3
  6. link This is much better then micrsoft's version try it. also this site link has a lot of good info.
  7. no we haven't we were working on the suppled setup.exe on the first page of this thread. he's talking about using the windows 2000 setup.exe which is a good idea I'll go try it. well I just tried it an...... nothing, soooo hmmm, not sure what to do.
  8. well you can use this linky or just follow the guide hosted here.
  9. I hadn't planed to use tweaknt on this because it causes strange things to happen, instabilty and such is what I hear.
  10. I was wondering how hard it would be to do an unattended install that converts 2k3 to a workstation. I'm looking at what's been done with the xp unattended intstall section and it looks like most of it could be done, just a few things like enabling graphic exceleration then, we could just have a unattended install script instead of the guide. Of course the second bouns would be no more converting when you do a reinstall, just stick it in and you have a workstation. I've desided to try and do it on my own, anyone else want to help?
  11. I tried 19 and 29 too but you can't go above 23 you should have a script compile error.
  12. I have the same kind of problem it runs fine then, poof after a month it just reboots itself. :/ but yours sound like the blaster worm mine, well I have no idea as I have the all the patchs and anti-virus and a firewall.

  14. I was wondering if maybe we could somehow take the setup.exe from the 2k3 cd and add the bitmaps from this beta setup.exe, I'm mostly after the cleaner look and feel, I could live without adding new entry's as it seems really hard todo, unless someone could program a new setup.exe file which is way to much work for this I think.
  15. Dave's right it give you this error: Compiler Error in line 18 at offset 1 This string ID is outside the scope of 1008 and 1023 so it seems like a limit has been hard coded into setup.exe and you can't use anything above 23. You can rearange the exesting entry's but not add new ones, anyone else agree, or am I totally wrong?
  16. *bump anyone know what I'm doing wrong? if we could replace the string table then I think we could get this to work.
  17. Ok I've looked into it more it looks like we need to replace the string table to add menu items and tell setup.exe what to run, say for terminal client. But that's were I'm having problems, I can't figure out how to replace the string table, I can edit the text already there but when I try to import a new string table with a test menu item it does not take it, anyone good with resource hacker or resource tuner that could anwser this?
  18. just a warning don't use it unless you have the retail version I found out the hard way
  19. I think it's in the string table if you look under 66 you see it trying to run things but the numbers don't match the buttons for some reason anyone know more about this?
  20. any progress on this? I would really like to replace my setup.exe
  21. Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to use this pe builder to boot off of the cd, then after it booted into a GUI do things such as repair a system, unattended install, or just play some solitaire while I'm waiting for it to finish. Anyway just an idea that I had, bye now.
  22. If you look around for a link to jv16 power tools 1.3 that is freeware and doesn't crash like 1.4 did to me. I have a copy of 1.3 I could send to you but I need an email that could handle 2.11MB zip file.
