  1. you can use "||" instead of "%systemdrive%" or "C:".. a little look at the windows help will help sometimes =) problem is to import reg files on using this method.. not many programs like the || as a variable.. regedit don´t like it.. see my two ng postings of august: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=de&lr=&...DGoogle%2BSuche (german) and http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=de&lr=&...DGoogle%2BSuche (english)
  2. well.. better this link i gave.. than the 1000 over 1000 answers on the web, saying "it´s impossible" =)
  3. take a look at this: http://www.secadministrator.com/Articles/I...ArticleID=26111
  4. on several filesharing networks...
  5. no, you are totaly wrong.. for example: http://www.willowhayes.co.uk/windows2000/ this is a 2 year old project.. and ther eis same customization level like here... maybe the RunOnceEx thingy is a "higher level" than here.. trust me.. this is just one of hundred sites on the web, which discribe customization of unattended setup.. sure,.. the guides of http://www.MSFN.org/unattended are very detailed, written for the masses... but that don´t mean, that it is new... give google a try, take a look t newsgroups.. u will be suprised...
  6. rofl.. you know, that there is unattended install in win 2K? you know, that there is unattended install in win NT? unattended instalation is old.. playing around with it, is old.. it is a "standard option" since many many years.. take a look into newsgroups, or just try google.. maybe, you think u´re a pioneer.. but.. inventing the wheel, is nothing new today... this is not against you, but against your silly sentence...
  7. nothing and all it depends on your needings, what u can delete.. driver which u won´t need, screensaver and so on.. what can savely deleted, DEPENDS ON YOUR NEEDS! there is no "rule for everyone" someone likes the support folder (deploy.cab,setupmgr.exe.unattended.doc) the next one don´t need it... u understand?

  9. 1. see unettended.doc on the win2k cd (located in support/tools/deplaoy.cab) 2. view this site: http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/xp/applications.htm (it´s same on win2k and winxp) 3. search this forum 4. see 1. 5. see 1. 6. see 2. 7. see 2. 8. google.com, microsoft.com
  10. don´t know, if this works on XP.. but on win2k it works.. extract the file u want to modify, modify it, and copy it to $oem$\$$\System32. because, setup copies the setup files first, and the $oem$ folder at last, the original files will be overwritten.. testet with setup.bmp and syssetup.dll on win2k, and it works.. the best thing is, you still have the original installation folder without any modification on the cd... try it..
  11. btw.. im on win2k.. so the command may differ on XP take a look at explorer->tools->folder options->file types->mark "INF Setup Information"->click advanced->mark install->click "edit"-> there is your command (that´s a manual to find it on WIN2K!, may differ on XP)
  12. should work for all kind of *.inf installation files
  13. nevermind.. found a solution: %SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %systemdrive%\install\Codecs\divx\divx50.inf works great
