  1. Integrating IE7 into my unattended discs has caused RunOnceEx to stop running, and so I've redone the discs (without IE7). They now run perfectly again, but I still need to get IE7 in there somehow. My question: Is there a way to install IE7 via RunOnceEx with my other apps? I've read threads on IEAK and a switchless installer, but don't know what works well and what doesn't. IF I can use one of those methods (please give me your recommendations) do I have to have activated the new install before IE7 can be installed? (I'd prefer not to go that way). Any suggestions and tips as a result of your own trial and error would be appreciated. There's so many threads and so many different methods, some that are new and some that haven't been touched in a number of months, it can be difficult to know which way to go. Thanks
  2. This worked perfectly in Vista Business Edition. Thanks
  3. Once I figure out how to edit the title, I sure can :S ...I don't see how, but will look more later (feel free to let me know ). Thanks again
  4. That worked perfectly Boooggy! Thanks for the fix, and for making this addon in the first place...it is appreciated.
  5. Hmm..looks like my link to the addon didn't work properly... I used the Windows Media Player v11 Final (Update 2) Addon from the nlite website, dated 11.25.2006
  6. Thanks for the reply boooggy, I've used this addon: Here I admit I'm fairly new to using Nlite, so just in case, here's what I've done: 1 - Taken a new Windows XP Home Image (SP2 Integrated) 2 - Used Nlite to integrate the addon (no other steps taken) 3 - Installed from the disc (no unattended stuff involved yet at all...no svcpack, no winnt.sif, nothing) I've also realized that using this addon results in certain parts of setup being bypassed. For example, I don't get the "Welcome to Windows" set-up options (where you can choose to active and register if you want to). That's also the point where you get to choose a username, but that isn't showing up either. It just defaults to "Owner". Now I realize that this is all about unattended installations of Windows, so I'm not too worried about that stuff...just thought you might want to know, in case it helps you figure out the problem...
  7. This topic came up as a result of a theme discussion in another thread, but the title did not mention WMP11, so I thought I'd start a new thread related to this problem... After some thorough testing, I can now verify that after integrating the WMP11 (v.2) addon, Windows theme service is stopped and only the classic theme is loaded. I wasn't sure what was causing it at first, but have narrowed it down to this addon. Not sure how this can be solved, but thought I'd mention it here in the hopes that this can be fixed. Thanks.
  8. Same problem here. Integrating WMP11 Addon (v.2) causes the theme service to not start upon startup, and the Classic them to be used..
  9. I've redone the whole thing just to make sure I wasn't making a mistake, and the same thing is happening. The info you mentioned above is part of my install, and is still correct. I've used the name "TestOwner" for my testing, and I have the correct name and password mentioned in the users.cmd file, and in my registry tweaks file. I've taken a clean install, added my $OEM$ folders, my winnt.sif file, and even integrated the driver packs, and the whole install runs fine. But as soon as I use nLite to intergrate the hotfixes, my install gets stuck. A username of "Owner" is added with a different password, and so my install gets stuck at the autologin part. Obviously nLite is adding it somehow, somewhere. Problem is I don't really know where. So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I'd really rather not integrate all of these hotfixes manually, one at a time :S . Thanks
  10. I've searched for an answer to this problem, and am an N-Lite noob, but here's hoping I'm not asking a dumb question... I had an existing Unattended setup, using svcpack.inf to install hotfixes, drivers from the winnt.sif file, and RunOnceEx to install my apps. I've used this for my business for some time, but felt I now needed to update it (hotfixes, drivers, apps, etc.) I brought my old install structure over to a new clean install, testing it first. Updated apps and everything else worked perfectly (with no drivers or hotfixes added yet). So I started up N-Lite to add the hotfixes, but it has created a problem with my install....somehow an incorrect username and password is being added, which stops my installation because it tries to auto-login with this incorrect username and password. I have checked and doublechecked all of my files, even rebuilding my install to check...and it is definitely N-Lite adding the hotfixes that is causing the log-in problem. As i said at the beginning, I'm no expert at this, just a guy who is always game to learn, and is willing to put the time in. I'm hoping someone can help me with this. Give me some things to try, etc. I would appreciate the help.
  11. haha...well thanks for trying. i will grab autoit, which I did use a long time ago, and try to do it that way... I appreciate the help, and will get back to you on this... an alternative method if you still have the zip files, would be yousendit.com ... where you can upload a file...
  12. Thanks arry....I regret to say that I'm not sure how to create an .exe file from the code. Would I use a specific program to do that? I've created .bat files...and I imagine this is similar... Sorry if I sound like a nooby... :S
  13. Thanks for the reply jbm....I really appreciate it. Would you consider uploading those two scripts for me to use?
  14. Still hoping for help with this, if anyone is using this very popular soundcard.
  15. I'm just wondering if anyone (ideally with the same card) would be able to give me some direction on this problem.... I've used my own driver, and Bashrat's Driver Pack...and it still won't install properly. It's a new card for me, but one that I'm sure lots of people have. I suppose the perfect solution would be for someone who has this card to tell me what they're doing, and possibly even send me the appropriate files... But any help would be appreciated. I do know what I'm doing, and all my other drivers install correctly....
  16. Ok..thanks for the input guys. I've started messing with things to see how they work. I have now used your Lite pack first Ryan, but somehow my test pc froze up at the 9 minute mark of setup...I'll have to figure out why... But I appreciate your guys' help. I'll start messing around and ask questions when I have problems.... Thanks
  17. Thanks for the reply Ryan, I tried to resond yesterday, but the site was really slow (don't know if that was me or the site). Anyway, your inegration pack looks great. I'm wondering a couple of things though.. 1 - What if I don't want to integrate all of the hotfixes in your Lite pack? Is there a way I can change that, or select which ones? I guess what I'm thinking is that I only installed maybe 15 in my svcpack.inf file, and so it seems like a lot of hotfixes in your pack... (don't get me wrong, I appreciate your work, just curious is there's a way to be selective about which ones). 2 - Are there certain hotfixes you can't integrate in, and that will still need to be installed using the svcpack.inf method? (is that why on the hotfix list, there are 1 or 2 that say /integrate will not work?) Thanks for your help, I feel like I'm leaning all over again..lol
  18. Well it's been a while since I've been around. I've had my unattended image working well (with svcpack.inf taking care of hotfixes), but I've finally got some time to explore the integration option, and am hoping to save space on my CD... Problem is, I'm not quite sure how to do it. I've got my CD's running perfectly using the svcpack.inf method, so what's the easiest way to switch over? And how exactly do I integrate the hotfixes? nLite? Batch file? It's amazing how far behind I am after taking some time off..lol...any help would be appreciated...
  19. Problem solved....I guess XP Home cannot have "Owner" as a user name, and still have the ability to set an adminstrative password... Thanks to all who took the time to help, and especially MCT, who solved the problem.
  20. This would definitely make sense if it solves the problem...trying it now.
  21. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Or could anyone who has XP Home paste their winnt.sif code for me to try? Any help is appreciated (<--- hopes you feel sorry for him, and offer to help)
  22. jbm.....When my unattended install runs...it stops twice (both times when my auto-login was setup to allow the unattended install to continue). I can get by that by clicking OK on the error and then just clicking on the username (on the welcome screen) to login. Once I'm logged in, the User Accounts section of the Control Panel shows my account as being created, but with no password. Once I create a password I can then log in as Administrator in XP Home. With that said, I'm not sure I follow what you want me to do, or how it might help. Sorry ...haha...maybe I just don't think well this early in the morning. Could you explain, if you still think that will help? Thanks...I appreciate the help...
  23. Thanks to those of you who have taken the time to respond... After trying without quotes around the admin password......it still doesn't work..... Does anyone else have any ideas? This is drivin' me nuts...!!!!
