LMAO ive known those commands for a while now, sorry lads if i would have known i would have posted this before for the unattended xp setup, been using them from day 1
for you guys thats getting the 60 second error run through those steps... 1 startup your computer 2 wait for the 60 second shutdown message 3 goto RUN in the start menu & type in "shutdown.exe -a" (minus the quotes) that will stop the shutdown of your computer & can give you time to grab the update patch remember to run a virusscanner to delete all the bullsh*t out ur system hope this helps
I would get a maxtor drive if i was upgrading, also i would recommend IBM harddrives as that's what im using just now & neva had any probs, very quiet too
Ya could just use a cat5 crossover cable & setup "ics" on the host computer, then go to 2nd comp and set the ip address on the nic as assign automatic. also set the ie settings to connect through a local area network. i got this done but dont know if it works on Blueyonder as i use bt broadband. as for blocking sites i use norton internet security on 2nd comp.
Alright pepole, ma 1st post here, jist to say ive been watching this unattended xp setup for a few weeks now, and also just completed my own build, total respect goes out tae Aaron xp for helping a massive amount of people. Thanx guys ur great
