  1. Dude, thanks for the offset. I found the one for the background of the text, "Exit" in Setup.exe. The address is 27AEh and the values are 3B 34 B1. Thanks again. -JASpurrier
  2. I don't understand the differences between my program and Tomcat76's program. In a nutshell, my program (available here): msiexec /a "C:\Temp1\dotnetfx\netfx.msi" TARGETDIR="C:\DotNetFinal" /qn msiexec /p "C:\Temp1\NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86\S867460.msp" /a "C:\DotNetFinal\netfx.msi" /qn msiexec /p "C:\Temp1\NDP1.1sp1-KB886903-X86\M886903.msp" /a "C:\DotNetFinal\netfx.msi" /qn msiexec /a "C:\Temp1\langpack\langpack.msi" TARGETDIR="C:\DotNetFinal" /qn His program: msiexec /a %TmpDir%\netfx.msi TARGETDIR="%BuildDir%" /qb-! msiexec /p %TmpDir%\S867460.msp /a DNF11\netfx.msi /qb-! msiexec /p %TmpDir%\M886903.msp /a DNF11\netfx.msi /qb-! msiexec /a %TmpDir%\langpack.msi TARGETDIR="%BuildDir%" /qb-! I do not see a difference between how the executables are integrated into the admin install. -JASpurrier3
  3. First off, stop saying that .NET Framework cannot be installed at T-13. There is a way. There is always a way. We just don't know how to do it. Also, if you would like to negate both of the hotfixes (KB891122 and KB902344), you have to update the Windows Media Format 9.5 Runtime. To get the version that fixes both updates, you need to download KB900325. It was a huge rollout for Media Center and it contained a file called wmfdist95.exe. Wmfdist95.exe updates Media Player and no longer requires you to download KB891122 or KB902344 (even on the Windows Update website). Extract all the contents of KB900325 and remove the file wmfdist95.exe. To get it to install silently, you have to repackage it using iexpress and use the command: "wmsetsdk.exe" /DisallowSystemRestore /WMFDIST /Quiet /R:N" Download KB900325: Here -JASpurrier3
  4. Here is my source code, please help me to figure out what is wrong. Thanks. -JASpurrier3 *REMOVED
  5. Ok, I believe I fixed it. I changed the order that the files were integrated. The language packs are now integrated into the admin install before the other 2 updates. Again, report any problems. Thanks *EDIT*: Did not fix solution, langpack must be integrated after other two updates. SEE POST #32 FOR DOWNLOAD
  6. I heard from this backwards monkey VIH.GERPUTES was the name of the song. Then I heard ddputes was the last verse. Then (tluafeD) was how it ended. Then to all zeros he chorused He didn't talk much. But other than the talking monkey, I do not know how to change Windows upgrade into a full version of windows. It's beyond me. -J. Spurrier
  7. I would love to know if this could be done. Something like ActiveMark perhaps that wraps the setup exe with a time limit so you distribution can only be run for 30 days and then you must enter in a serial key. Dude, that would be a sweet idea! Are there any programs that could be called that would end windows installation. For instance, during the hotfix install, run a program that makes you enter in a key (simple batch program), then if it is incorrect, it automatically restarts the computer so you can't complete installation. That would be cool. -J. Spurrier
  8. Ok, I changed the name of the Package to SilentDotNetFXMaker.exe and the output file is named silent_dotnetfx.exe. Again, please report any trouble you have with this program. CHECK POST #27 FOR DOWNLOAD Thanks for all of your improvement tips, SolidasRock.

  11. My apologies. Just for reference, were you running the file on Win XP? Anyway, I have updated the file. Place the .NET Files from Microsoft in the root of "C:\" and run the my executable. My program only integrates a language pack if it is on the root of "C:\". *Language packs are not required* I believe it will work with any language. Please let me know if you experience anymore problems. Again, my apologies for any inconvenience my last file caused you (the screaming). P.S. Also make sure your files are labeled exactly as my file says they should be. The filenames have not been changed from Microsoft's original names. CHECK POST #20 FOR DOWNLOAD
  12. The reason I don't use RyanVM is because sometimes it is better to design your own programs. Don't get me wrong, Ryan has worked unbelievably hard to put out his update pack for everyone and it is awesome, but in order to gain experience, you have to do things yourself. Now, I finished my new CMD (and converted it to an exe). I added Language Pack support. I also wrapped it in a nice SFX that will automate everything. All you have to do is place the 3 main files and the langpack.exe (if applicable) on your DESKTOP and run the exe. I have only tested it on Windows XP. This program creates an Unattended .NET Framework v1.1 fully updated switchless installer that can be run during Windows XP Installation and in any language. Just place the following files on your desktop: -DOTNETFX.exe -NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe -NDP1.1sp1-KB886903-X86.exe -langpack.exe (if applicable) If you would like me to port it to allow it to run on older version of Windows, just let me now. Enjoy! -JASpurrier3 CHECK POST #20 FOR DOWNLOAD P.S. I got a message about the language pack when i integrated it (check picture). It is in Dutch so I hope it said "Language Pack Successfully Integrated." Please let me know. Thanks
  13. Ok, I have completed a similar tutorial and made my own Framework 1.1. I know I may not be helping the problem any, but I use WinRAR instead of 7zip. I know everyone loves to use 7-zip, but the code is too complex for me. I create an SFX RAR with the best compression and for the comment, I type: ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Setup=netfx.msi /qn TempMode Silent=1 The guide I used was at http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t40788.html I created a CMD (just copy and pasted from the above article and minor modifications) and all you have to do is place the three files with the original names on the desktop and run the file. The file will integrate both hotfixes into a folder named "DotNetFinal" on the desktop.
  14. This is for people with slow internet connections or people who do not want to worry about faulty installers. This is a Patch to change the original DOTNETFX.exe (v2.0) to a silent install suitable for Unattended Windows Installations. All it changes is the command executed to install .NET Framework. It does not even mess with the microsoft digital signature. Enjoy! DotNetFXv2.0Patch.exe
  15. Hey dude. I was having some of the same problems you were. What I used was the Microsoft Setup Manager Wizard. You can download it here. I believe that you need UnattendedInstall="Yes" because then it will read the rest of the file. I think your target path should be TargetPath=\WINDOWS. You also need to specify which UnattendMode you want to use. I believe the bare minimum in an unattened setup is: [Data] MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=ProvideDefault Just follow the directions in the "Microsoft Setup Manager Wizard" and it will make the Winnit.sif file for you. It adds in quotes on some entries and I don't know if that will fix your problem. I appologize if this method is already know to you. Let me know if this fixes you problem. Later.
