  1. Hey guys I'm looking for a way to keep track of everything thats been printed from my printer. It's a peer to peer network and the printer is attached to my pc. What i'm looking for is a way to have every file that is sent to the printer made into a pdf or some other digital format and saved in a special folder. I've tried looking through the forums and on google but i haven't found anything that would help. Thanks Josh
  2. That program seems really good one question though. How does it work with saving data files?
  3. is the key physical or simply a password? When using the computer is the whole drive decrypted or only the sectors in use at the moment? Does it work with RAID Does it have any adverse performance effects on either the pagefile or the system in general? Thanks josh
  4. @MRGCAV The illegal data im trying to secure is financial. I used to work at Enron and now I work at your bank. but seriously i have a linksys router and i use symantec client security All my prgrams are up to date What do you mean by IP spoofing? Thanks for your advice
  5. Thanks for your responses In group policy, i set it to restricted and only let ms office and internet explorer work as a test. it works great for everything on the computer but i can still load programs from the net. how can i prevent installing programs from websites? I would think that it would automatically be stopped since i restricted all programs but office and IE. Is there a way to prevent access to folders? And to prevent files from being renamed? I really appreciate all the help you guys are giving me. I consider myself to be very knowledgeble about computers but keep in mind i work in finance I'm very interested in learning the inner workings of the system Josh while playing around i was able to remove all users and turn the computer into a paper weight. The user account was remouved and the administrator account is disabled. I tried doing a ctrl+alt+del to get in but i assures me the admin account is disabled. I always had a feeling this would happen and i know i now it does
  6. I'm trying to find ways to secure my system. I'm currently thinking about doing a fresh install with only the administrator account, installing all my applications and then changing the settings of the administrator account to be only a user account (taking away the admin priviledges). Is this worthwhile? what benifits would i have by doing this? If anyone has any suggestions on how to secure a system please let me know I've read alot of info from the forums and i've tried using security software and setting the group policy editor but im not really finding anything that makes me feel like my computer is trully secure Thanks Josh
  7. @Takeshi When i install this on a system, there's nothing to stop someone from installing other programs such as p2p and filling the computer with spyware and crap. my goal is to stop people from being able to load their own programs and accidentally install anything else I've been testing these methods with a simple keylogger to see if it will install on my system and it never fails. It is always able to install itself from the web and send emails to my account. This is the test I'm using to see if the computer is secure
  8. Hey guys I tried searching the forums for a few hours but didn't find anything I'm starting to use the group policy editor in xp pro (gpedit.msc) I like the option to restrict all software but I'm having trouble enabling programs. Once I have restricted all software, how can i enable certain programs? My goal is to do a fresh install on a system using my unattended cd, load all the applications (office...) and have only those programs which i installed be usable. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated Thanks Josh
  9. Hey Guys I'm having some problems with this In my folder i have nero6.6.0.0.exe and NVE3.0.0.12b_update.exe i extract both of your files (startx and NVE_builder) I put in my serial... Then when i try and run the builder, it says FAILED you do not have package 1 & 2 in the directory. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Josh
  10. I was also thinking about an auto destruct for some time now. Let's say I put the unattended install on a CDRW is there any way to create a command to use the cd drive to delete everything on the cdrw after the install is complete? Thanks Josh
  11. @ Durex Thanks for posting that code I would like to have the users created as restricted users. Would sinply changing Add User to Administrators Group? to Add User to Restricted User Group? do the trick? or is there a different term in the setup for a restricted user? Also how would I set windows to auto logon with the newly created restricted user? Thank you very much
  12. Yes! Making the change to Win51IP made it work perfectly. Thank you both very much. This may be slightly off topic but once your driver packs become larger, do you think that new 850mb CDR's would be able to support unattended setups or would most firmwares of cd drives not support a 850mb cd from a boot emulation?
  13. First of all I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for creating an incredible resource for unattended instalations. Until now i've had no problems integrating everything from sp2 to office 2003. I've been searching the forums all day for a solution but i haven't found one so i'm posting this. I appologize in advance if there is an already posted solution that i didnt find. I followed the method 2 driver pack instalation and didn't receive any errors during it. When I try and install from the disc it proceeds until a certain point and then i get the error that windows can't find WatchDriverSigningPolicy.exe However, the file is in the folder where it should be. oem\bin\ I followed the instructions to the letter. Was there anything I was supposed to do that wasnt in Bâshrat the Sneaky's guide? Does his method 2 installer complete Pyron's method or was i supposed to do something else? Thank you in advance Josh
