  1. @Dietmar I did this test, instead: starting from the ISO "it_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_vl_x14-73994" with manually added acpi.sys v7777, I prepared two ISOs with the sata driver v11.2.0.1006 integrated in one using Nlite and in the other using the modified Patch Integrator script from Ramsey. Both XP installations were done on the MSI Z590-A board. For the first ISO prepared via nLite, I received bsod 7B on the first reboot after completing GUI mode. Most likely this problem is due to Ramsey's iaAHCI.inf file not containing the DEV_43D2 related to the ahci controller of the Z590. As such, by using the sata driver from the @George King package with updated txtsetup.oem file, the problem is bypassed and XP installs and boots correctly via ntldr. For the second ISO prepared via the Patch script, XP installs smoothly on the first try, nice! But now there is the strange thing: to install XP with the sata 1006 driver from @George King, I formatted the first SSD drive via RMPrepUSB v2.1.739, so that only one partition was present. After the XP installation completed smoothly, I removed the MountedDevices key from the registry, then installed grub4Dos and rebooted via ntldr to verify that the MountedDevices key had been recreated correctly (only "\??\Volume..." and "\DosDevices\C:" was present). Now, rebooting via freeldr, here is the Hive error once again. The 2nd SSD drive I used to install the XP ISO prepared via the Patch script has two partitions and one of them already has a non-working XP installation. I formatted this partition during the setup in TXT mode. The installation ends without any problems. At this point, I repeated the same procedure as for the 1st SSD: on the first boot, MountedDevices removed, installed grub4Dos, rebooted first in ntldr to re-create the MounedDevices key (two "\??\Volume..." was present other than "\DosDevices\C:" and "\DosDevices\D:"), rebooted in freeldr, and surprise: XP boots this way as well Let me know if I have to upload some images or other.
  2. @Dietmar Uploading takes too long, my connection is not so fast. Try searching for "it_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_vl_x14-73994" Meanwhile, third failed attempt with missing storahci.sys, also using an older Italian XP ISO. Edit: See you tomorrow. Have a good night.
  3. @Dietmar before to upload the XP CD I would try to use the patch script for the sata driver integration.
  4. @Dietmar again missing storahci.sys. I checked dosnet.inf and txtsetup.sif and all storport.sys entries are at correct place. Since I had already installed XP on my MSI-Z590 with the sata driver from Kai-Schtrom by using the script from Ramsey, the problem is nLite. Tomorrow, I will modify the script to verify what happens.
  5. @Dietmar I'm restarting from scratch to prepare the ISO.
  6. @Dietmar missing storahci.sys at the beginning of txt-mode
  7. @Dietmar about the sata driver integration by hand, in addition to the entries in dosnet.inf and txtsetup.sys for storport.sys and the inclusion of storahci.sy_ , storhaci.in_ and storhaci.ca_ in the i386 folder and then storahci.sys and storhaci.inf in SP3.cab / DRIVER.cab, is it required to make other changes?
  8. @Dietmar I think the aspect you highlighted is certainly very important, but first comes the XP installation without issues. On that note, I am having difficulty installing XP (and then booting it via freeldr) on the MSI Z590 with sata driver 11.2.0.1006 as using the same Italian ISO that worked on the Asus B250 here I get BSOD 7B even via ntldr. Unfortunately Nlite is no longer reliable for driver integration on newer cards, better the optional script properly adapted to the driver to be installed. The only way to be able to install XP with the sata 1006 driver is to use Ramsey's ISO with the script changes and the addition of another driver. But, in this case, booting via freeldr does not work. By copying your two folders (system32 and Dokumente) booting works via both ntldr and freeldr but the system is almost unusable. By copying the two folders from the working SSD drive with the Italian XP ISO, I got the BSOD 7B.
  9. @Dietmar I had already checked: SHA-1 1C735B38931BF57FB14EBD9A9BA253CEB443D459 Which is the one in your version?
  10. @Dietmar I did another fresh install of XP with the ISO 'en_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-80428' with acpi v7777 (manually added) and the IRST driver v11.2.0.1106 integrated via nLite (only sata driver installed) and again I get the hive error message. I applied the same steps as for the working Italian XP ISO not updated.
  11. @Dietmar just to confirm that my B250 board boots also with your files for both ntldr and freeldr. See you later
  12. the error occurred anyway even when I used a more updated XP ISO (en_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-80428). Even then the sata driver was only one.
  13. @Dietmar you can delete it. Downloading just completed.
  14. @Dietmar never used more than one sata driver in all my attempts. I'm downloading now XPSP3system32andDokumente.7z Thanks!
  15. @Dietmar Now it finally works but how long it took to get it! I had to replace acpi.sys (it was v5048 and not 6666) with version 7777. It seems that freeldr doesn't like some windows update, since it only works with an outdated ISO.
  16. @Dietmar I'll try it later. I'm installing now an Italian XP SP3 ISO without updates with acpi6666 (manually added) and the sata 11.2.0.1006 driver integrated via nLite.
  17. @Dietmar I have already tried with the XP from Ramsey to boot firstly via ntldr, delete the MountedDevices key, reboot via ntldr and then via freeldr but wihout success. Even with only one SSD and no other devices connected to the board: the hive message is always there.
  18. @Dietmar I started from scratch by installing the XP ISO from Ramsey via Firadisk on a different board (Asus B250) and choosing only the SATA v1.0 driver from Kai-Schtrom. No other devices are connected to the card except the VGA card. Although not selected in the Menu Options script, the USB3.X xHCI driver is installed anyway (I will report this to Ramsey). I took a shot of each step of the whole procedure. Images uploaded here: https://anonfiles.com/Cdh7GcDaya/Freeldr_test_7z After the first failed attempt with freeldr I also reinstalled grubdos4 once again after deleting MountedDevices key, to no result. Please let me know where I made a mistake.
  19. @Dietmar my board is a MSI Z590-A Pro and it supports only ahci mode. No sata driver installed on my last ISO tested, only the OFA 1.3. On the SSD I got the same hive error message with the IRST v11.2.0.1006 and the sata ported driver from win8.
  20. @Dietmar Hi, nothing changed here even with the en_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-80428 iso installed on the NVMe drive with acpi.sys v7777 manually added and the OFA nvme driver 1.3 with storport.sys v5.2.3790.4173 integrated via nLite. It works only via ntldr.sys.
  21. @Dietmar sorry for the delay in my reply. Just now I have some time and I installed XP from Ramsey (Options 3,5,7,A,C,E,H) on SSD but again I get the error "Could not load SYSTEM hive!" via freeldr, so it is a problem that is not just with the NVMe driver.
  22. @Dietmar In all my attempts the NVMe drive was the only disk connected to the board and it's the first device for booting. The BIOS options you suggested are already disabled except for the ahci devices. Nothing changes even disabling them. I sent you the system file via pm. Even removing all the entries in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices and rebooting doesn't help.
  23. @Dietmar I re-started from scratch by installing XP on the HD drive with a single partition. I cloned this drive to the Crucial P5 NVMe drive leaving the partition size untouched as the HD drive. I applied the RMPrepUSB settings for the NVMe drive and copied only freeldr.sys first and then the other 5 files. Booting still works only via ntldr.sys. I get the same error message "Could not load the SYSTEM hive!" for booting via freeldr.sys. 24. @Dietmar freeldr.ini (SHA-1: 3390B6313C170A797C5F29B37C6CC8259DD63A77) and menu.lst (SHA-1: 7CC17A120E50018539060CE3DC7AFA9AFDC5881B) are the versions contained in the BootfilesfreeldrNTFS.7z package. Also, here are some images: https://ibb.co/GPBwfV8 https://ibb.co/gV51gXW https://ibb.co/M65j3cr My XP HD drive has two partitions, so the NVMe drive also has the same number of partitions. I will try it with only one partition.
  25. @Dietmar just tried without success. I also used a different NVMe drive (WD SN750) and adapter (RTL9210B insted of JMS583) with same results.
