If you really want a barebones system, you can delete all autochk files, with voidtools search, as well as sppsvc too, if you don't use microsoft office.

Curious if it's possible to add a feature to switch bootloaders, such as Clover or opencore to the drive. Also an feature to patch acpi.sys for win7 systems booting on uefi.

Thanks for the indepth explanation. My idea was to make a usb that works both on old legacy boot system, the baytrail tablets with a funky bootia32 bios, and modern devices but I'll try the vhd method you suggested.

If you're like me and use winxshell, if you don't need uwp and word, you can delete dwminit.dll, dwm.exe, explorer.exe and sihost.exe just make a text file and call it dwm.exe instead. Enjoy your fast windows.

This was a program back in the vista days that let you search the net with commands from the start menu/run box and command line, as well as showing results in the start menu, which Microsoft finally did in win11, but we all know how bloated it is.
