It is possible to run AMD Radeon "NAVI" Series on Windows 8.x using Windows Server 2012 driver but DirectX Applications's performance leaves much to be desired. Tried to run RX 5700 with Windows Server 2012 R2 but FPS in DirectX games were awful - tested GTA IV and GTA V, Serious Sam Fusion (2017).
You sure you used the proper driver? There wasn't much difference between 7 and 8 for me

But then it should work on 8.1?
Yes, it should, but it's slightly buggy
For example, fullscreening some unity games gave me a yellow screen of death with my 5700XT on 8.1

Vistapocalypse, yup, searching for something here is a pain. Maybe start a new one each 3 or 6 months, regardless of posts count?
I would prefer a "Browsers" subforum to host all related discussions. But this probably won't be accepted, just like my "Hardware & drivers" suggestion from the past...
That exists, but not on MSFN

i have no idea what music was like in the 90s because i was born in 2000 all i know about is the new disco style music and the country and rock music that is the new disco of the 2000s i wish i was around in the 90s to get to see all the cool stuff back then but i just missed it by one year
Unfortunately we can't go to a popular video sharing website and look up any song we want from any time period we want

I use VLC 2.2.5.1, haven't had any issues

Wolfenstein: The New Order has rather simple demands . The recommended graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6850 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 with VRAM 1GB , so there's no way it can saturate PCI-e 3.0 or even 2.0. I'm guessing this is the reason it feels smooth on XP.
OK , GPU-Z shows , but nVidia CPL not , why ? Seems quite strange , the same result with several different people on absolutely different hardware. Yet again , if I reboot to Vista the CPL will show the highest version of PCI-e. This is on the same drivers version . I've tested with almost all known drivers . By the way , 368.81 is the weakest among them , asdf2345 uses 347.25 for his XP and it's the wise choice , I would also recommend 347.09 and 344.60 for 900-series.
But yet again , you've just confirmed my discoveries .
XP is slower even with DX9 games.
Why do I need this ? It's just out of curiosity , I've never used XP and decided to try it. I went from Windows 2000 to Vista in 2007 (skipped XP completely).
I don't think x16 1.1 is the limiter, a mobile 1070 at x16 1.1 usually outperforms the 980M

And about this "test" : these are the weaker cards , much weaker than GTX 980. So PCI 1.1 is enough in this case.
GTX980 is like 80% faster than GTX680. Don't forget about the onboard VRAM . 8GB vs 2GB . See the screenshot by asdf2345.

Desktop 980 is 4GB

So as mine and Ucyborg's . It shows ordinary PCI-e (1.0). Something's wrong with the detection of PCI-e in XP64 . I'm gettiing poor performance in games .
Name a game, and I can try testing it.

Here's a really weird bug: As of today, you can no longer type a space in YouTube on any legacy-Firefox-derived browser, in either the search box or when typing a comment -- it's reserving the space bar exclusively for pausing/unpausing the video. Typing Alt-032 to generate ASCII 32 or pasting in a space character from the clipboard works, but pressing the space bar doesn't. I've tried Serpent/Basilisk 52.9.0, New Moon 27.10.0, and Mypal 28.14.2 on XP, and Firefox ESR 52.9.1 on my Mac, and they all do the same thing. The space bar works normally in Chromium-based browsers.
Edit: I just updated Mypal to 29.1.0 from their Github page and now the space bar works in YouTube. So it appears that Pale Moon 29.x-based browsers should not have this problem.
Off topic, but are you the real vwestlife?

The MEGA folder has a new winload.exe, winload.efi and ntoskrnl.exe that must be used with 2018 or later updates.
Because of the new incompatibilities, the target will be moved from April 2017 to March 2019 (SHA-2 code signing update). What's meant is:
April 2017 + KB4474419
However, patching up to March 2019 with everything else is probably fine too

Roy kept that for his builds. Enhancer for YouTube is the only one I have and it works well with Serpent.
Even New Moon?

What do you mean? Security threat?
As far as I know, no UXP browser should be able to use WebExtensions

I cannot find any information relating to Minecraft changing requirements to Windows 10 only.
I think even if that happens, .jar files run in a Java virtual machine, so it wouldn't really matter
Worst case scenario, someone needs to port latest OpenJDK 8 or whatever to XP, but I'd bet money older Java 8 versions would work fine

One of the best addons for youtube, Enhancer for YouTube finally got updated to 2.0.103. He put a strict min version of 68.0 but by chance I lowered it to 52.0 and tried it in UXP and it works perfectly, every setting that I can tell. There’s quite a few changes too.

> UXP
This is not fine

I benchmarked x86 versus x64 once-upon-a-time and x86 has better performance than x64, not the other way around.
I do admit that this was a couple years ago, but the results were so CONVINCING and UNDENIABLE that I've never bothered with an x64 browser ever since.
Was it very old Firefox builds?

It should be fine I guess, just upgrade to 4 when possible

Quite interesting. Unfortunately I don't seem able to download anything earlier than 2020-09. Thanks, ArticFoxie.
That's because of a domain name change, o.rths.ml was the previously used domain, and there are other older domains. You can just replace it with o.rthost.win, and the downloads should work

With nothing on this monitor, windows moving is fine. With something on it, the thing on it is extremely laggy and other windows are laggy as well.
I do the same thing and whenever that is the case with aero ON, games, Discord, and the browser will lag badly. With aero off however (Basic or Classic) Discord, Games and the browser runs perfect and snappy.
Guess I'll just have to try regular 7

In my case, anything that gets put on the second monitor that is the lowest refresh rate, it slows down all the other monitors, which also for some reason causes web browsers and electron apps to become extremely laggy. With Basic, this problem doesn't exist.
In my case, I usually have a browser on my 60hz 1080p browser maximized all the time, sometimes also playing a video
While this is the case, I don't notice anything being laggy, other than Gecko being Gecko. I notice some things have really fluid animations on the 144hz monitor with the other monitors connected, and one of those things is a Chromium wrapper
