  1. Today I am here to ask an interesting question and put some worries in the head on peoples who aren't aware of the "Problem Of 2038". The clock strikes 03:14:07 UTC on Tuesday, 19th January 2038, a total of 2147483647 seconds since 1st January 1970. You may ask, "Alright, but why do I care that 2147483647 seconds would've passed since 1970 in 19th January 2038?" - Because, 1st January 1970 is the date when the 32 bit count started. The problem is that this 32 bit thingy has a limit of 2147483647 seconds. One great example, of why do we care about this limit is the song "PSY - Gangnam Style". Since YouTube was using that 32 bit system to count views back then, as you may guess there was a bit of a problem once that song reached 2,147,483,647 views. Once it reached 2,147,483,647 views, the YouTube views counter broke. Of course, after this YouTube is now using 64 bit system, which can handle up to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 views. That's good for YouTube, but what about computers that use 32 bit counting system in 19th January 2038? - According to Google, they will just malfunction but I am also asking this question here, because I am curious if someone of you can at least share a theory or make an attempt to predict!?
  2. I am also thinking about buying HP Pavilion 15, but I would try to put XP 64 just because of as you said, the native support for more than 4 GB of RAM, but the problem with XP 64 bit is that it's very incompatible on the drivers side. You may have more success to install it and it would run faster, but to find drivers would be very hard. (much harder than the original XP)
  3. If you ask me, finding drivers would've be the easiest part, since the laptop's motherboard might not be compatible with Windows XP and if this's the case, we're in trouble.
  4. As much as I am aware, this laptop has all the drivers, except for the video but anyways, that's it: HP Pavilion 15 AB011 I didn't really want to share laptop, since I am not sure if I am going to buy the same laptop, but I am thinking to buy a laptop with similar video card.
  5. I hope that someone reading this topic can try it...
  6. Since I have a terrible need of an new laptop, I was wondering if there's a possibility that I can buy an modern laptop and install Windows XP x64 on it. For now, I've found one that has all the drivers, but the only thing that I seem to have trouble to find drivers for is the Nvidia Geforce 940M. Any drivers for Nvidia Geforce 940M? For now, I've only found a couple, which I hope someone can try? (They will work with all 400M Series, 500M Series, 600M Series, 700M Series, 800M Series and 900M Series according to the site(s) ): http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/17682/ http://www.driveridentifier.com/scan/nvidia-geforce-940m/download/299210351/B4D96C2E76D245D3A58E8C6F1A073528/PCI\VEN_10DE%26DEV_1347%26SUBSYS_100D1025
  7. The video card fixed itself in a very strange way... I wanted to go to "dxdiag" to check something and a bit after opening it, I've got BSOD. After restarting everything was working perfectly fine! I want to thank everyone for helping me to get Windows 2000 up and running on my machine. Your help is much appreciated. ~ Thank You!
  8. The fact that no one is replying isn't good, isn't it?
  9. Device manager says that the video card is very happy with the situation.
  10. After installing the latest English version from 2014, I still get the same errors? Should I re-install the video driver? EDIT: Re-installing the driver did not work.
  11. Can you give me link for that "extended core"? EDIT: It's somewhere in your blog from where I've downloaded KernelEx, but I see mainly cubes rather than words, so could you help me find it?
  12. Also I want to say, that the 3D Tests were all successful, however once I try "Test DirectDraw" it works, but I get some kind of a error down there:
  13. Who on the world said that you can't? - not me at least... I was just asking.
  14. Even after installing the driver that you've recommended me, everything is absolutely the same. A bit of details what is actually happening. Once I try installing DirectX (any version) it gives me error. Once I open " dxdiag " is says that I have DirectX already installed, while the games that I've tried don't think so. - Also, once I try Visual Studio 2005 I get bunch of error messages. Each time when I try powering virtual machine on VMware Workstation it gets very sad. (does absolutely nothing) I am assuming that Visual Studio 2005 would help a lot in this case, because it at least gives us some more details on what's actually going on.
  15. Nevertheless, why would you need 8 cores on Windows 2000 ?
  16. After the driver installed correctly and I've tried some programs, it seems that I have a little problem with the video driver... DirectX 9.0C can't install at all. As a result of the DirectX i can't run any game. Even Visual Studio 2005 doesn't work. VMWare Workstation also freaks out once I try booting a VM. (error message) Is this problem only for me, or it's just from the driver?
  17. I've tried installing KernelEx 2.6d with almost every setting that I could try. Sadly, absolutely not even a microscopic difference from KernelEx 2.8d. GOD D*MN IT! EDIT: Can someone give me UURollup link? EDIT: Found it and I noticed that someone, very effectively tries to remove that file out of the face of the earth. I just did go to the only reported place on the web where is still exist and if you want it, you gotta send me a private message so I could send you the file. FINALLY: After installing update UURollup v11 for Windows 2000 after the reboot everything was working perfectly! As mentioned earlier, if you want link, just give me an private message.
  18. Alright. Results can be expected tomorrow, this time of the day or probably (most likely) with few hours earlier. And afcourse, I am open and of other ideas until that time comes.
  19. I've installed KernelEx v2.8 with the default compatibility. I'll try v2.6d tomorrow, but should I use maximum or minimum compatibility?
  20. I've already looked there and I can confirm that it's compatible with my video card. About the "Windows Legacy Update" drivers, I'll try them right now and I'll share the results. EDIT: RESULTS: After downloading the the latest and manually installing it, I still get the same error as before. "Error Code 31" EDIT: After a bit playing with the Nvidia HD Audio drivers, I've successfully managed to get them to work. Now I have every driver in my system, except the Video. However, any help about the video will be very appreciated... I am sick of it...
  21. Can you give me direct link for those Unofficial Rollup Updates? I've been searching for them for quite a while now. After installing those, the only thing left to do for me is to wait for your assistance, people. - I absolutely ran out of ideas. Any help will be greatly appreciated... EDIT: Also I want to say that I won't only need display driver, but my computer also needs Nvidia HD Audio driver, if I want to have any sound at all, which I sure do. If I get any of the nvidia driver packages that blackwingcat offers to work, I'll get both display and audio, but I think that I would need his help to make any of those packages to work.
  22. One the page from where I've downloaded the Nvidia Drivers, was also mentioned what each version of each driver requires. Almost all needed KernelEx and only the oldest ones of them needed .NET Framework 3.5. I may try installing it, but I don't think that it will do much... (if something at all)
  23. Another driver, another luck, another fail. Why this .reg file does create me such a problems? I have KernelEx 28... I don't understand where's the problem. - is that the problem? Every driver that I install with setup file, I get this error and every driver that I install manually, recognizes my device, tells me to restart (afcourse I do restart) and then I get Error Code 31 in device manager. BlackWingCat / Anyone? - Any ideas?
  24. The first one that I've tried doesn't seem to work. I'll try others now. EDIT: Now it at least is being shown in device manager after trying version 310.70
