also... "System Restore" is another component that is required for windows 7 to work: System Restore Crash Dump Report Manual Setup Don't Customize Owner Info and I'd Protect the followin files to be able to user Blue Badge and Hibernation: Windows\System32\wisptis.exe Windows\System32\ieframe.dll Windows\System32\shell32.dll Windows\System32\stobject.dll Windows\System32\TabletPC.cpl Windows\System32\themecpl.dll Windows\System32\themeui.dll Windows\System32\powercfg.cpl Windows\System32\drivers\diskdump.sys Windows\System32\drivers\dumpata.sys Other than that, you can pretty much remove everything else you want/don't need. -YACO

So I figured out what it was: if you remove "Crash and Dump Support" you won't get hibernation on windows 7. -YACO

So... i'm removing something that is causing Hibernation on Windows 7 not to work... i really need hibernation. Does anyone know what could it be? (i'm removing pretty much everything (except for manual setup). -YACO

so i tested and it works... win7 6801 and vlite work! sorta... it's picky depending on what you choose to remove. maybe we should start with a list of items that must remain unchecked when stripping win7. -YACO

hmm... going to try this tonight and post back. -YACO
  8. So... apparently the Sniping Tool doesn't work without the msdrm.dll file When I try to open it I get an error: "This application has failed to start because msdrm.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". Love the snipping tool... hate drm... So, I copied msdrm.dll from this site and put it on my windows\system32 folder and the sniping tool now works... Now I'm wondering if that means I have fully activated DRM back or what? Anyone?
  9. Dear Santa, I've been a very good boy and have been using "nuhi's lite" versions of windows since... I can't even remember... reinstalled windows bagilian times trying to get it perfect and never complained once. Any chances of me (and entire world) getting a new version of vLite that integrates SP1 for Christmas (or before)? Thank you. YACO
  10. The easiest way is this: 1. Download and install: WAIK (900+MB) 2. Download and install Vista Update Integrator (beta but it works) 3. Extract all vista files to one folder and copy all the update files to another folder. 4. Run the Integrator... It will let you create an image. -YACO
  11. Now I'm debating between reformatting now with updates preinstalled or waiting until next version of vlite comes out... any tips as to when this is coming out to help me decide? Ahhh nevermind... I can't wait anyway... I'll just format it now. Thanks for figuring it out so quickly though, -YACO
  12. This may be a question for another thread but I wasn't able to find it. How can you integrate hotfixes into vista DVD before running vlite? I have just installed another version vLite version without removing the Performance and Reliability components... I'll let you guys know how it goes...
