  1. I may have delayed entering credentials but th real problem is the credential screen is not displayed for 5-10 minutes. "Please Wait" is displayed for a very long time. Once this credential screen is display all is OK Instead of lines 25 - 27 what about lines 14 and 15 ?
  2. Prevent adjusting the toolbar, size, position gpedit\userconfig\admin template\desktop\disable adjusting toolbars or hkcurrentusers\software\microsoft\windows\currentv ersion\policies\explorer NoMovingBands REG_DWORD 1
  3. etl, cab, or both etl = 51mb zip (too large) http://www.filedropper.com/xbootmgr-trace-boot
  4. Ponch is correct if you do not want your boot to go directly into your desktop: 1) The welcome screen requires at least 2 users acounts displayed. You could have the administrator account shown. 2) If only one account then you must enable Secure Logon which requires you "ctrl+alt+del" to display a login screen.
  5. I read and tried to follow "Trace why Windows 8 boots, shutsdown or hibernates slowly". Windows 8.1 on a Toshiba Sattelite click. "Please Wait" is displayed for almost 10 minutes before the login interface is even shown. After typing the password the login and the PC is great. I perforfmed the boot tracing: xbootmgr -trace boot -traceFlags BASE+CSWITCH+DRIVERS+POWER -resultPath C:\TEMP Upon the completion I opened the etl file and scroll to the service graph and look for a long delay but example displayed in the sticky is different. I can't determine what exactly is causing the WinLogon time segment this long delay.
