f***ing dfi, wow that p***es me off. anyways, dont worry about ur ram! put it on the largest divider there is, 5/6 should be good, and just leave it there i guess u can leave ur voltage at 1.5v, but it should be going past 220 for that....
vry odd. i nlited my xp like i have bunches of times before. and when i login with my password it says that its invalid, even tho i know its not. the nlite config file and the winnt.sif file both have the same password i am trying to type in... same happens in safemode and if i try to login thru repair on the xpcd.
well step 1 is to put ur mem on huge divider so that it wont interfear with overclocking, you will change this later. if u need to up your voltage then just go whatever the smallest step up is and test again. i would be very hesitant to go over 1.5v tho.
please dont be skeptical, there is nothing wrong with dual core. especially since they are so cheap right now. they only reason i get jerkiness in games is if i do like 16xaa and 8xaf which is due to my vid card, my cpu could prolly run 2 games at once.
well the thing is that i need to find a way to have textpad do this automatically for me, i dont want to have to change code each time i go to compile and run a file. edit: well the only way i can make this works is to install java to c:/java for now. i just really wish there was a solution to this problem..
i am trying to run a batch file to open something on the e:/ drive, but the cmd give this error "e:/programs is not recognized as an internal or external command edit: i think the problem is just when im trying run something from the E:\Programs(x86) directory edit again: ok i am right, and i need quotes-> E:\"Programs(x86)"\Java\jdk1.6.0\bin\java.exe Account that works. but the problem i have now it that im using textpad to write my java programs and it automatically makes a batch file with no qutoes to run the .class file, so does anyone know how to tell textpad to use quotes? or is there a directory i can set? "E:\Programs(x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0\bin\java.exe" Account this also works..
you dont need sli memory, nothing really special about it. how much ram u want? 2x1? 2x512? and is this for anything special? you against a value type of ram?
no that fine for first step. i would move up by .1ghz at a time until u get errors in prime95. then either up ur voltage or slowly back down the overclock. just read the guide a few times, its long but well worth it
so what cpu are u going to get, amd or intel? an e6300 is about the same as my overclocked opteron 170 @2.6ghz. and the e6300 is ~183$ last time i checked
above 70? i would say above 60... very risky to overclock with stock heatsink. if you get above 70 then you really need to turn it off. make sure to read the overclocking guide http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20823
well that may be, but whats nice about dual cores is that you can play games using 100% of 1 core and have another core to do whatever on, otherwise your whole system can get bogged down.
well u guys do make good points for budget comps, but thats just my opinion. what exactly do you guys call budget tho? i built a rly good c2d comp for 1000$ and a decent one for 700$. the 1000$ comp plays games at full settings... unless by buget you mean <500$?
