  1. Hi, when i replace the ntdetect.com and the ntlrd files of XP from Win2k3, does this speed up my XP?
  2. I want an ActiveX free Version only for Mozilla and Opera IE is crap
  3. ProcessExplorer shows me this: \BaseNamedObjects\c:!windows!profile!administrator!lokale einstellungen!temporary internet files!content.ie5! \BaseNamedObjects\c:!windows!profile!administrator!cookies! \BaseNamedObjects\c:!windows!profile!administrator!lokale einstellungen!verlauf!history.ie5! \BaseNamedObjects\C:_WINDOWS_Profile_Administrator_Cookies_index.dat \BaseNamedObjects\C:_WINDOWS_Profile_Administrator_Lokale Einstellungen_Temporary Internet Files_Content.IE5_index.dat \BaseNamedObjects\C:_WINDOWS_Profile_Administrator_Lokale Einstellungen_Verlauf_History.IE5_index.dat
  4. Hello, I hate that windows always recreates the following folders: %UserprofilesDir%\Cookies %UserprofilesDir%\Local settings\Temporary Internet Files %UserprofilesDir%\Local settings\History ( The Paths may differ cause they are translated from a german Windows XP) Which Shell Extension recreates them or which dll? It seems to be a IE5 file or function cause alle subfolder begins with IE5
  5. Use a mst with removed Nero components and apply with Orca Editor to the Nero.msi remove the unnecessary cab file and install like original Nero
  6. There is a good Graphical MSI Editor there....Masai Installer ...maybe we can put Install shield crap into garbage and use this tool
  7. i have hopefully fixed the X-FI slim driver. I changed some lines in the inf that it was possible to put all files in one folder. I've deinstalled my driver and installed this one and it works no errors or such. Please give me feedback if this new driver works for you too! EDIT: heres the link: http://rapidshare.de/files/7501758/X-Fi_WDM.rar.html
  8. I have an ATI X800XT PE with VIVO. Due to this i need the wdm driver and the catalyst. unfortunately has the wdm driver more than one driver and i'm not sure which one to integrate. There is a NSP and a SP folder has this something to do with XP SP2 and XP Gold?
  9. My vote goes for O&O cause its fast and very efficient
  10. @hp38guser thanks for the driver pack, unfortunately haven't you made that what i want..... this driver is a kombodriver of all creative soundcards.... you left all files listet in the inf....but for all cards.... my idea was to keep only the ones which are necessary for an soundblaster X-Fi EDIT: Finally i used a driver backuper to get all the files the driver needs put them in a folder and changed this folder in the inf so that windows doesn't manual search for them. http://rapidshare.de/files/5380190/Creativ...__WDM_.rar.html
  11. I can see driver details of the driver, a file list of dlls and sys files but no infs. I want to integrate the minimal driver into nlite. I've installed the Driver and used a Driver Backup tool (Double Driver). I integrate the driver with nLite into an cd and test if it installs correct. If you have another method to safely reduce the driver to the only needs tell me.
  12. Hey here, today i bought a new Soundblaster X-Fi Soundcard. But what i found as driver was horrible...250 files in 60Mbs....ufff thats a bit too much for a sound driver isn't it?! Maybe some guys of you have the knowledge to find out whats the raw driver. To get an overview of the driverpack download it here: http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/...load-13773.html
  13. the latest binarys of realite and quicklite gave me an unknown error....
  14. 150mbs for me with all pre sp3 hotfixes
  15. Firefox is better! Why? Here are some reasons: -FF doesn't support ActiveX (like javascript with all local rights but without sandbox!) -FF isn't bound in so heavy like IE, if IE has a bug Windows is bugged too! - FF is w3c conform, IE not, where is the transparent png support m$ where?! -IE seems to faster start up? because IE is loaded with explorer.exe (shell)!--> buildin windows problem!
  16. Hey guys please post a file list which files you have removed or we can't trust you!
  17. I prefer O&Os Defrag 8 Pro because its the best on planet!! More methods than other tools integrates fully in windows more time needed for better defragmentation
  18. do we need the ocx files? and IE support? Its so that i'm not one that like to support ActiveX, the component which makes IE so unsafe. only Mozilla browser support would be nice. titou2k, can you please make 2 packs one for ie and one for mozilla browsers.
  19. Hey guys, I have i big Problem, since the version grows of vmware, now 5beta, it installs more and more of components like nat driver and virtual networkcards. the point is that i want to test somethings in virtual pc and need to install this stupid crap on my new clean windows install. Is there a way to say the vmwaresetup to NOT install network componets?
  20. hey guys, we can make our windows safer when we remove the Netbios things. for those who want to share nevertheless in network i have the right thing for you. i want to have all Netbios things ripped out of XP. I started a topic in nLite section and freed up some of the network components from netbios/netbt. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=37633 if you shut down NBT, several things will break: 1. No interoperability with down-level machines (older than Windows 2000); 2. No Broadcast Name Resolution (which is used on simple peer-to-peer LANs), you must have DNS name resolution in place to have any name resolution at all. You can always use hosts files instead of DNS servers though. 3. No network browsing (The computer browser service is a NetBIOS based animal.) 4. Any other software that relies on NetBIOS will break. For the non existent dns server we can use the hosts file. for the so loved browserlist of pcs and shares we can use Merx Network scanner to generate one. you must change the port from 137 to 445 for correct working without netbios.
  21. voted for yes, i think Firefox is safer because its not binded so hard into os like the OE and IE. Bugs of the IE concern the hole windows. the firefox bugs are only phising things. maybe some bufferoverflows....but thats not as bad as ie.
  22. look for the correct driver for your monitor, download it and integrate the driver.
