Can someone please provide a solution for this? I am having the same issue. Using "win8rtm.png" gets rid of THIS problem, however is has the ugly, flat red buttons. Please what do I need to do to get the ncie look wirthout this issue in thunderbird, it really bugs me. Edit: Win8.1 x64 build 9600 here It looks like you using a 3rd party theme. Try using windows 8 default themes and see if problem goes away

I would think that no one in his right mind would NOT upgrade to Windows 8.1! I been using Windows 8.1 Update 1 Pro x64 for ages and never had a single problem with aero glass

I got it working. I found out it was Ribbon Disabler that was causing the problem. Uninstalled that and reenabled OldNewExplorer and i;t worked. Thanks for the update. :-)

I recently changed to another computer still using Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 x64 but now I can't get "enable glass on navigiton bar" to work. I'm using bigmuscle aero 8 v1.25 an OldNewExplorer v1.1.0. Is anyone else having the same problem

It will still work. You have to at first configure aeroglass to run on battery

Do a system restore to the time before you attempted to use it. Then follow the instructions from http://www.glass8.eu/ It easy to get it working. I been using it on Windows 8.1 64-bit for ages with no trouble

Interesting I used blackglass enhanced before. But it didn't come up clear like that, It come up black clear. But didn't like it after a while as it caused firefox and other programs to lokk horrible

Do you have this problem without theme atlas ? For the glow it's normal because all windows with ribbon (like explorer, paint, wordpad...) don't use theme atlas glow but another in the theme file but the Windows 8 Aero theme don't have any glow effect so, if you want glow, you must use 3rd party themes on your computer. Thanks for your reply. 1 - How to setup without theme atlas? Do i need only to delete the png file or have I to edit registry or else? 2 - Can you give me some directions to look for theme having both round corners and title glow effect on all type of windows? You need to install it on C:\AeroGlass. I once installed it in a different location and it didn't work

I was just pulling your chain (note the smiley). B) I'm a firm believer in "to each his own". It's good to know some folks like the Start screen. That's why these are personal computers. Me, I click once on the Classic Shell start button and the menu just stays there until I click on one of the entries, or something else. I use Classic Shell's "Classic style", which IMO is better than any version of the Start Menu Microsoft ever made. The coolest thing is I've been using it for a very long time, since Vista, and it's one thing about the UI I've set up that I haven't had to deal with changing out from under me in the last several major OS releases. There's a level of "muscle memory" utility that one reaches when things remain familiar for a very long time that's hard to reach again with a new approach. There a bug for me. Any adjustments I do to it I see it happen on the fly but when I click on "Save" and close the GUI it reverts back to default settings. I had it running as admin, too.
