spiritpyre, years ago I had downloaded the file extension toggle & hidden file toggle in cab formats and used to use these with nlite. ... It was a standard addon for me! I have now moved to Win7 and just can't get that cab to work with vlite. Any ideas?? Any work arounds? Can you please help with something that works with vlite? Thanks & Cheers edit: Forgot to add that the current version 3 on page 1 works well with Win7. Its just that I want: 1) to have it working with vlite 2) want all the dll and other files to go to the system32 folder rather than as separate folders inside "Program Files"

Hi, Back with XP, I had an addon that when integrated with nlite gave me an option to toggle on/off the hidden files and also the File Extensions. Do we have something like this for vLite that could be used for Win7? Thanks & Cheers!

Hi Rado, Really appreciate your work and do check for updates regularly. I was wondering if you could probably make it so that it just replaces the XP sound scheme and does not have an entry in the add/remove component of the control panel. Thanks

Not sure what is causing this, but I integrated SP3 & IE8 ... everything was perfect until I tried to go to IE8 Tools/Options ... I keep getting a message that it has been disabled by the administrator!!! Wonder how that happened!

Oh! Well, I'm sorry then ... how do I get the mods attention? Again, the reason I posted it here was that nLite, does seem to do some hacks / mods (removing the "File Protection", patching the UXtheme, etc.) and so I thought that maybe something could be worked out for this as well! Thanks

Rado, would it be possible for you to add an "update date" alongside each entry ... that way, it would be easier for us to know what has been updated recently, without actually going through the last pages of this topic. For the older ones, you could just put some earlier date or ... "prior to 06/18/2007". Cheers

Hi, I created an nLited CD yesterday and went ahead and formated my PC. Installation was quick and smooth However, after the installation, on 1st startup and all thereafter I kept getting a message saying that a required file framedyn.dll was missing and I presume because of that the srclient.dll was having problems ... two error messages in all. Well, I almost connected to the net to look fro framedyn.dll but decided to check the CD first ... and yeah, the file was ther as ... Framedyn.dl_ . I extracted the dll, dumped it into system32 and everything was fine ... even the srclient stopped giving errors! A few minutes later, I noticed that the volume icon was not there in the system try and went to the Audio Properties ... checking the required box again gave a message that the file was missing. Back to the CD and sure enough the required files are all in there! I now wonder why this is happening. My earlier nLited version also gave me the same problem ... and each time I have used a clean full verion of the SP2 iso as the base. This problem was not there for some version I had used a long time before ... think it was version 0.8 or 0.9 ... but all others gave me this problem. Till yesterday, I never thought of searching in the CD itself and hence never knew that the files were actually there but not being copied from the nLited CD. Any ideas what could have happened? ... want to make one good cd. Thanks & Cheers! PS. If I have to attach the Last Session.ini file, can someone tell me if I have to remove any private info from the file before attaching it? Thanks again Oh! I'm sorry .. seems like many have the problem with the framedyn.dll. If still someone can advise me, that would be great ... also what about the volume in system tray

Well, I'm really getting bugged now! I have NOT removed my "Old CDPlayer and Sound Recorder" All the required files are available on the nLited CD .... both files required for the Volume control and the makeiso.inf! Just do not know why it did not get copied to the right places .... and worse is that I now do not know where to copy the makeiso.inf file to! I mean, I presumen its in the inf folder under windows, but on checking, I see that the file already exists! I'm just wondering what "makeiso.inf has to do with Add/Remove Programs

As regards the Volume control in taskbar, I extracted the required files from the *.dl files in the XP CD and it works fine now ... so a just wondering why those files were not installed at the time of installation ... after all the files were available on the nLited CD. Hi, just made myself an nLited CD and upon installation faced these problems: 1) The Volume control in ths system tray is missing .. I know I can go to the control panel and check it to get it back, but the problem is that when I try to check it I get an error saying that the snd... something file is missing! 2) I am unable to go to the add/remove Window components under the Add/Remove programs menu. What do you'll experts think that I could have enabled/disabled to get myself in this problem? Will appreciate any help! BTW. I've attached my last session if its of any help. Does anyone having trouble getting the "Quick Launch" toolbar stay switched on? I switch it on and the next boot it goes away .... worse, when I switch it on again, it sorts based on the folder sort order If someone can solve this for me I'd really appreciate that! I'd really like to know if there is some kind of reg entry that help stay on ... and remember that it is on. Thanks in advance! Cheers

Hey! Thanks for that tip of! I did search! The problem was that I did not realise that either the "Balloon" or the "Sign up with Passport Wizard" could have related to my problem. Still am not sure it could be the problem as the two possible regkeys mentioned are not in the list I had applied! Assuming it was applied without my knowledge (maybe through some setting in nLite), would it be possible to have a regkey that reverses those two options?Regarding the "Network places", I'm sorry! Yeah, its there in that file and I did search, but just don't know how it got past! Thanks again! Cheers!

I used the "Registry Tweaks" with nLite and things went fine! ..... well, almost! I've got just one problem. One of those tweaks causes Msn messenger to disable my ability to save the login name and password. Could someone give me a clue/ hint/ whatever that leads me to the villanous entry If I check the box to save the Password, clicking on OK or whatever to login does nothing .... just refuses to budge! I uncheck the box and Msn logs in fine! One other thing ... would there be a tweak that allows me to remove "My Network Places" from the Start Menu? Thanks & Cheers!

Thats nice ... And how about if I want to put it under "Links", and maybe in a folder under "Links". This is cause I normally create a folder and group the Favourites under Links as "Music", "News", "Banks" and so on... Cheers

Hi, Had made an nLited Cd wherein Windows Messenger was shown the exit. Upon completion of the XP install, I installed msn 6.2 manually. Now, When trying to save my signin name "name@hotmail.com" and password, I get a balloon asking me to use the format "name\domain.com" and a couple of choices. It does not allow me to save the name@hotmail.com. Infact, if the "Remember" box is checked, it does not login at all and shows the earlier said balloon. Uncheck it and the sign in goes smoothly. Did I disable some service that was suppossed to be automatic? Really will appreciate help from you folks! Cheers

You mean like if I use the $OEM$ folder, I can bypass the WFP? That is if I use it, during or after installation, will XP not tell me that its changed and ask me if I want to set it right?

After having been to this forum for about 2 weeks now, I've come to learn that using the Hacked sfc_os.dll I'll be able to disable WFP. This can also be done using nLite. The same goes for uxtheme.dll. I'd like to know if there is some kind of standalone exe file that would allow me to switch the WFP on and off just like there are patch files at neowinthat allows me to switch on/ off the uxtheme. The idea behind this is that I'd like to switch off the the WFP, replace the notepad anc calc and the switch it back on so that folks at home do not mess around with sytem files. Thanks & Cheers!

Ah! I've got just one .reg file which I run at T-12. Everything is just as I've wanted ... save those two problems I've mentioned 2 posts up. wonder if someone in the know could help me??? Cheers
