  1. The drivers are installed! However, the built-in Belkin wireless utility is awful and causes instability, I'd love to avoid it if I can. I'll check Odyssey's registry keys and see if I see anything funky. Also, the laptop is an IBM Thinkpad T41, so hopefully I'm fine. I can't find drivers for the built-in a/b wifi this thing has anywhere, on top of a/b not being very good anyway.
  2. eek. it's not detecting my wifi adapter! it's a cardbus adapter, model Belkin F5D7010 v7. any ideas?
  3. I haven't found a working link anywhere, can anyone help? Thanks!
  4. Hey guys, I've just installed Windows 2000 on my old Pentium D system. I have USP 5.1 installed along with UUR 10 because the latest Daily version of 11 wouldn't work for some reason. I wasn't able to find a link to USP 5.2, so I don't really know what to do there. I only have one core recognized, but I also have the application compatibility layer, so I know UUR is working, although it still doesn't enable Firefox 48 to work, spitting out an Kernel.dll error. Can anyone help me out here? I'm so close!
  5. Hey guys! I've been working on a retro rig recently. Specs are: 1.8 GHz Pentium IV 512MB of RAM 40GB HDD nVidia GeForce 6200 256MB PCI The problem lies in the last of the specs I've listed. In Windows ME (yeah, hate all you want, but as far as I'm concerned ME>98) my dual monitors work perfectly. Each is represented as it's own separate monitor and I'm able to run programs with that in mind. The problem I run into is with Windows 2000. In 2k, which I'm typing this from, I've tried 3 different nVidia drivers for my card and I've found no solution. I'm either left with an option for a mirrored display or a stretched between two monitors, instead of both being separate. I run Windows ME for my old games (Twisted Metal 1 and 2 PC FTW) but, at this rate, it's basically worthless for web browsing. That's something I rely on Windows 2000 for, and for other nostalgia related stuff. I'd love to be able to fix this issue with Win 2k, and if anyone has any insight it'd be greatly appreaciated. I've tried three versions of the nVidia drivers for 2k. 81.98 (the same version ME uses) 93.71 94.24 none work. Also, bonus questions! 1. What's the best browser for Windows ME (KernelEX included)? 2. What's the best anti-virus for Windows 2000? (Avast doesn't seem to want to update anymore, sadly)
  6. Hey guys, I've got a Toshiba Satellite that I want to throw Win 2k on to dual boot with Win 7. Here's the thing though, it uses the Intel HM55 SATA controller and hangs at "Setup is Starting Windows..." I know I need to slipstream the drivers onto the disk, but I don't know which ones or how to start. When I get an installer, I'll extract everything and it comes with loads of different folders and .ini's to choose from and I don't know what to pick! Can anyone help me out?
  7. Fixed it! For some reason I got the "the version of this driver is incompatible with your operating system" error when I first tried the driver, but for some reason the default HP one worked on XP a few minutes ago. I'm estatic. Thanks again!
  8. HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_7605&SUBSYS_103C1585&REV_1004\4&69D9EB2&0&0001 That's what I got. I'm about to be in class, so I'll try those drivers here in a few hours. Thanks.
  9. Please don't chastize me. I learned later that I have to use at a minimum off Office 2010 for school, which is incompatible with Windows 2000. That makes another hurdle that I've found no info on here on the forums or elsewhere. So yeah, too much work. Sorry I didn't crosslink, didn't think I had to.
  10. I've managed to get XP installed on my HP Mini netbook and it flies (thank god, 7 was atrocious on that thing). However, I can't get a sound driver working. It's the IDT HD Audio Codec, which I've learned is a dread to install on XP. I've got SP3 installed, and the UAA pack for HD Audio. I've gotten two error messages, 1. being "Device Cannot Start", and 2. "The Class Installer rejected the Driver", which I don't understand at all. If anyone has any experience with this, or any tips, much appreciated!
  11. It's too much work. I ended up finding an old XP disc my dad had lying around, slipstreamed the drivers, and used that. I have a few questions about that, but I'll post them in a new thread. As far as it goes, this thread can be shut.
  12. i believe i tried 7.6, but I'm not sure. how do i slipstream the extended core?
  13. It is! Apparently it tried loading that originally. I then moved on to iastor.sys, and Windows setup said it was corrupted. I even used your version off your website, and nothing.
  14. I'm determined to get 2k on this system, it's perfect for 2k! However, I cannot, for the life of me, get the storage driver to work. I've been going at it for the past day and I've probably wasted 10 CD's trying to get it right. I neeeeed help. Default setup tells me that achix86.sys is corrupt. I've done some digging and found out the driver I need for my model is ICH7M/MDH SATA controller. I've tried tons of different variants and I keep getting IASTOR.sys is corrupt. So, then I went with the Universal driver, and now I'm getting UNIATA.sys could not be found. There's no option to switch between RAID/ACHI/IDE in the BIOS, so that's out the window. I've been using nlite to slipstream the drivers. I'm also slipstreaming the graphics and net drivers, if that could complicate anything. Has anyone else encountered something similar? I'm at wits end and I don't know what I can do. Please help!
  15. annnnd i'm back. 2k reinstalled right back to where I was before. sorry about that haha.
  16. that's what i installed. I had no idea :/ shoot. I'll try to boot in safe mode, see if I can get anything going.
  17. It's a great rig!.. sorta. Windows 2k won't boot anymore. I installed all of the KernelEX 2K equivalent updates and now Windows refuses to boot. It tries to boot, fails, and restarts. Are the files the updater replaced able to be replaced by the originals manually? I do still have Windows 7, which I'm typing from, and still have access to the drive. All-in-all, I was hoping to get some XP apps running and now it's broken...
  18. I got Avast 6 working! However, when it finds virus' (which it does, 5 of them) it can't remove them. Clicking remove does nothing. Hmph.
  19. Probably :/ it isn't that big of a deal, however! Avast just flat out isn't working. I'm searching for a new AV. It installs, but causes a few errors, won't scan, and causes Windows 2000 to slow to a crawl.
  20. nope! i click "extend main onto this monitor" and nothing happens :/
  21. Here's the brilliant piece of art you fellows have helped me achieve. Windows 2000 in 1080! PAE worked! It somehow got Windows 2000 to recognize all 6 cores! WORKING: Steam Winamp AMD Catalyst Control Center Wifi/sound/all drivers PROBLEMS Avast! is giving me issues with installing (it crashes after it installs and poops out errors when I try to run it) no multi-mon support unless it's cloned and at a small res I still have to switch between IDE and RAID to boot Windows 2k and Windows 7, respectively. (Inaccessible boot device BSOD when i try to boot 2k in RAID) overall, i never thought i'd see the day. thanks again!
  22. Thank you so, so much. Everyone here that's helped me get this running, I never thought I'd see the day honestly. It's all there, everything is installed and I'm thrilled (I haven't gotten the monitor situation figured out yet but I've just disabled the second one for now). This is gonna be awesome to play around with. Thanks so much!
  23. I didn't get the HFSLIP package to work. I just did the 48-bit LBA hack, installed it, then trudged through - installing drivers, the updates, and I'm not even done yet. The last two questions I have are 1. Will Windows 2000 play nice with my Dual Monitors? It's only letting me go up to 1280x1024 (the limitation on my smaller monitor), not letting me control them independently. Also, Windows 2000 reads around 3.2 gigs of RAM, how would I enable to see 8 as mentioned before?
  24. 2k is installed and the graphics driver worked! Just one question... Is there a way to install the UUR after Windows is installed? I couldn't find a setup file I'm having trouble getting WiFi and Sound working, but i'll get it.
