  1. It seems that my messenger was disabled in my settings here for some reason. I have sent a test now. Thanks.
  2. Thanks! Although, I did that but I don't think it worked. hehe.. did not get a reply back.
  3. My apologies for being totally off topic, dear CharlotteTheHarlot, how can I reach you outside this forum? I'm thinking, email. Is it possible? The reason will remain unknown for now.
  4. Imagine: Imagine there's no countries Imagine no possessions Globalization + Cloud services... are we there yet? Suddenly, this tune is feeling very creepy.
  5. If you can't touch it, you don't own it.
  6. ...THEY ARE IN ON IT. WHO? THE SO CALLED "JOURNALISTS". As I said in earlier posts, this is about them taking control over OUR devices. Lock, stock and barrel. See how they all suddenly together call the kindergarten interface for "modern" and the actual real useful interface for "legacy". It's all an Orwellian creep city. Well, they forgot one thing... they need help... from... us... the developer community. Brave new world they said hey? Good luck making me write an "app". I will rather change profession. DID YOU HEAR ME BALLMER? I rather wash cars than making an "app" for your LOCKED WALLED PRISON GARDEN. To hell with Microsoft and these "journalists" which are nothing but propaganda machines these days. Be it in IT or politics. Absolute filth. That's what they are and what they write. EDIT: Interesting that the "article" has no signature. Who wrote this? Makes you wonder, doesn't it? EDIT2: I saw that he wrote this "Jared Newman - @onejarednewman". It's obvious he knows which side of the bread is buttered on. Don't ya Jared?
  7. That thing is basically a thin client... an OVER PRICED "thin client" because it's useless for anything else. Basically, I could just hook up my Hyper-V server into one of these things http://dx.com/p/android-4-0-mini-pc-google-tv-player-w-wifi-allwinner-a10-cortex-a8-tf-hdmi-white-4gb-137012 ...$50!!! *loool* and do the same job as "Surface ReTard" or "Perverss Retard Oooo"(PRO lol). I had one of those 10" mini "laptops"... it's 100% useless. It's only good to use as a thin client. Not saying I like Android though, but like... yeah, you guys see my point I'm sure. Another even better idea is that ( which I actually do ) to use a smartphone, Android or Windows will do... hook it up to a monitor + keyboard + mouse... with Remote Desktop on it connected to your Hyper-V... EVERYTHING in your pocket. ... including your phone.Surface is an overpriced piece of junk... I especially like one of the points you mention about using magnets to attach the pen instead of sliding it into the device. I mean, how the heck did they think we would HOLD this HANDHELD "thing" when having that pen on side of it, risking it to drop any second not to mention how uncomfortable it would be. haha
  8. Personally, I don't mind it at all. Windows 8 deserves worse.
  9. It's even on "sale!" COME'ON COME'ON HURRY UP... THIS STUFF IS GOOD! *sounding like a salesman from 1920s* hahaha
  10. Man, so much of that sounds so very familiar: Thanks for the post. I'll be going through the rest of the pages for the details. --JorgeA np! ...what's creepy is basically we can remove OS X and put Windows 8 (or any Windows) and almost all points match up perfectly. Not sure if I should laugh or cry.
  11. It seems that it's not only Microsoft's customers who are suffering... http://macperformanceguide.com/AppleCoreRot-intro.html I know a bit OT but read his points, very relevant and some sound very similar to what MS is doing with Win8.
  12. Another Bagdad Bob is at it again... *lol* http://www.neowin.net/news/microsofts-windows-business-lead-on-windows-8-sales-its-a-solid-start "Microsoft's Windows business lead on Windows 8 sales: "It's a solid start"" - Microsoft's recently named chief financial officer of its Windows Division. lolololololloolol
  13. This is not ad placement... this is a full advertisement sequence if you ask me! trlolololololololol... so lame... if I was watching something and such "ad" showed up in middle of the show... I would never watch that show again... then again, I don't have a TV.
  14. Excellent excellent excellent excellent post! A small add-on to it would be that the developer community as a whole has a huge responsibility here. They should not develop any "Metro" "Apps" AT ALL. Let it just die. I know I will not develop any "App" ever for it... do you hear me Steve Ballmer? Yes, that's right... I said NEVER EVER. I will create everything on the web now. The day comes where they lock down that too, well I will quit computer business and will not miss it for one second. The entire reason I joined and kept at the computer business from when I was a kid until now was/is TO DO AS I PLEASE ON THE HARDWARE WHICH IS MINE. If they want to take my freedom away and become another utility company... it's fine... they are within their rights... but... My PC was always my home, because I was in peace inside it. It was my castle. I will not join and support them becoming a utility company nor accept this trend. I will find some other place to call home. If someday it's all gone and everything is locked down, I know I tried. I did not develop any "Metro" "App"... so you, the developer who reads my post in the future. Remember it. Make sure you can look back in 10 years from now and say "You did your part to prevent it" too, because this time around, we cannot only blame Microsoft and OEMs. This time around, the blame will also lay upon us, the developer community. It is our choice to make this monster grow or kill it right now. Without the developer community, this "Metro" monster will die. Die hard and die quick.
  15. The lock down continues... http://www.i-program...nd-directx.html Eventhough they try to cover it up and sort'a kind'a deny it http://www.zdnet.com...ctx-7000010647/ ...the bold underlined text above cannot be denied. Some good comments: This is so so true, I must quote it twice!
  16. btw for some reason, they think CharlotteTheHarlot is a girl. ...
  17. hahahahahhahahahahahahaha.... fun thread! *loooooooooooooooooooooool* EDIT: It's not them acting civil but I think since they KNOW deep down that we are correct here, because we use FACTS not OPINIONS, they cannot really come up with much once you actually go head to head with them.
  18. Haha indeed! You know why? Because there was no need. Microsoft was very good. Now they are losing it and it's when the fanboys come out of the closet. Come think of it, what CharlotteTheHarlot said... they are not destroying Windows but Personal Private Computers... you might actually be right about this! Maybe THAT is exactly their plan? To kill of PCs with crap like this so people move on to locked devices on their own and they can blame it on the people not wanting PCs anymore! Seriously... it could be their plan! There are sinister forces in the background and they might just kill off Microsoft to achieve total lock down in "Computers". By kill off Microsoft, I mean of course, making Microsoft an IBM. Just for coporations. You don't see any IBM in homes anymore and perhaps in 10 years, you won't see any Microsoft Windows in homes anymore either. Everything will be locked down "iDevices" or "Android" or crappolia or whatever... as long as it's locked down. Computers will be marginalized to a few, perhaps 2-4% of people who actually use their PCs for more than just using it as a TV and Facebook device.
  19. hahahahahahaha they are really nuts, as if Windows 8 isn't bad enough, they put this Metro crap in Windows Server 2012 too. I tried it a bit... try hitting that start screen ONE PIXEL in a remote desktop window or vm console... you want to kill yourself after 2 tries... imagine handling 20 servers. About Office 365... cloud... readonly documents if you don't pay... yey! DRM enabled on your own documents. Why would ANYONE use this crap? If you can't touch it, you don't own it. ...so yeah, MS can stuff it somewhere. @CharlotteTheHarlot: Great posts as always! So great that I have added this thread to my daily news read routine. hehe ...Thanks! =)
  20. *solved it* Turns out I had the IDs from second table so I only used one table. Something like: SELECT id FROM table LEFT JOIN (SELECT id FROM table WHERE <some condition>[mine was id<10 or id>20]) AS A ON table.id=A.id WHERE A.id IS NULL <---- the important part. <---- the important part. Cheers!
  21. I dislike Android because of all the spyware they shove into it... BUT even this thing can "sideload" (Orwellian term for FREE)... back to WP8... you are right. I feel like in a prison with it. I like my Android tablet because I got a very calm and nice ANIMATED background... sooo soothing. I LOVE IT. Another funny thing about Windows 8 tablets... they cannot act as a phone!!! hahahahhaha... I LOVE my Android tablet because, animated background... veeery lovely... and it has a super amoled screen... as in, TRUE BLACK... this display is SO AMAZING ( Samsung Tab 7.7 ) that if you use it for some 30 minutes, you can never go back to anything else... and most importantly... when I lay down on my bed, doing whatever I'm doing with it... I can also call friends, family, use the SMS / picture function. Now, Windows 8 tablets completely missed on that important function. What did they think, I'm gonna buy a W8 tablet AND a WP8? And hold them both in my hand? *looooooooooool* it's ludicrous! I even take my tablet to WC/Toilet. The phone functionality is of utmost importance. I got more family members, older ones which also use Android because they use it in kitchen and all over the home... because they only need ONE device and can be reachable + surf or listen to radio with it etc. Imagine buying a Windows 8 tablet... 'loooooooool'... we would have to hang a WP8 on our neck too. That's why I cannot buy a Windows 8 tablet AT ALL. Even if it was $50! It's useless if I cannot use it a my phone too. Having 100 devices hanging around you is soooo not something I want to do. Now, if only Ballmer would read this.
  22. Thanks for the link. I know about JOIN. I been coding a long while now. But this specific scenario doesn't cover it. A bit tricky. :e
  23. Thanks for the help submix8c but I really need an example of a SQL query. Kind'a urgent, need it for something at my work. hehe
  24. A bit OT but kind'a on topic regarding the lock-downing of Windows 8 systems... http://linux.slashdo...msung-notebooks ...I think they are just testing the waters before a total lock-down of all devices.
  25. Yeah. Although, these corporations know all this already. That, it is easier with sugar than force. They start early in the schools. dumbing down the population and wasting years of their lives to become... well, good "consumers". Unless something major happens to humanity as whole to make people "wake up"... the future is much dark. It is amazing how people give away their freedoms, even in small scale as inside computers, with their data on cloud. Just amazing. They all act like prisoners, servants, many other words would fit as well. I doubt it will be fixed or stopped though. People have always been dumb and stupid. (most of them) ...those few who see and know, well... they got no chance.
