  1. NuMicrosoft does hate the customers indeed. Spend some time reading then various posts by MS reps and you get the picture. Microsofties are p***ed at the longevity of XP and the success of the iPad. The iPad because Microsoft had a tablet solution almost ten years before the iPad and it flopped. They can't wrap around the fact that it was because they just put XP on a tablet, while iOS is truly optimized for that format. They seem to interpret it instead in the vein that the customers are stupid and fall for Apple's hype. Vista's rejection by the public and even Windows 7's failing to reduce XP's marketshare gets interpreted by them that customers just flat out hate anything Microsoft and are blinded by Apple's toys. All this led to two things: Metro and the "devices and services" transformation. Customers are stupid and hateful, so they need to hate back by shoving metro in their face, whether they want it or not. And since customers stay on Microsoft software for decades, but are willing to "give Apple money every year", we need to clap down on the concept of licensing software and instead force them all on subscription for all eternity. Pay up or die. The more liberties the customers lose that way, the better. Serves them right. And you can forget it that Microsoft will take back metro. No way. Windows blue is actually a doubling-down on metro! If that will fail too, they will respond with EVEN MORE forced metro. Probably abandoning the classic control panel in the next Windows revision. It's a lot like the hardcore Linuxers around Stallman in the past: Linux is perfect, the only problem is the distros are not fossy enough (thus Debian and gNewSense were born). Android is successful because it's not ideological (unlike NuMicrosoft and the FSF) and "tainted" the system with closed stuff. Metro is also far more suitable for the "services" part; you just can't shove outlook.com, skype and bing in desktop mode as obnoxiously as you can do it in the start screen. NuMicrosoft in a nutshell: More hate, more metro, more restrictions.
  2. Yes, I do agree. The Xbox could cost them more than Windows 8. Much software is still tied to Windows, so customers often have no choice but to take Windows, - even a version as horrible as 8, and make it work with Start8 somehow. Not so with the Xbox: Nothing is tied to it (the Xbox One is incompatible with previous games anyway), and there is a viable competitor around the corner, the PS4. Microsoft risks here losing the market in a big way, even more so than with Windows 8. Many staunch metrotards were also recruited from the Xbox generation - p***ing them off is a serious blow for Microsoft's marketing efforts. Oh and this is worse than New Coke. Coca Cola reversed that decision within three months, while there's no end in sight for Microsoft's amok run.
  3. Some fanboys on Channel9 are all hots about the second-hand restriction as well: http://channel9.msdn.com/Forums/Coffeehouse/How-and-why-is-it-OK-to-ban-second-hand-games/bb67e8ab867147c7a842a1c800f5f2fb
  4. Neowin fanwhores: http://www.techbroil.com/2013/05/xbox-done.html?showComment=1369405586667#c1258092000164490250
  5. Xbox One making fans already: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/wii-u-sales-boost-following-xbox-one-reveal/0116135
  6. It draws some stupid conclusions at the end though:
  7. One reason the Xbox One has a mandatory always-connected camera is to enforce that evil DRM one day.
  8. Quite a barfworthy article IMHO. Many quotes in there to demonstrate his shill-worthyness. I like the tenor that just because Microsoft wants something, the customer has to bend over. "Customer is king" is dead.
  9. Nice touch that the reveal event was hold in a intimidating pyramid shaped building: You really have to wonder how dense the MS marketing is. Quote from 1984: "The Ministry of Truth - Minitrue, in Newspeak - was startlingly different from any other object in sight. It was an enormous pyramidal structure.." Aren't they aware that all this surveillance tech in the new xbox will draw these comparisons? And what do they do? Hold the event in a pyramid! Just wow! Unbelievable stupid marketing. And then they wonder why there are backlashes.
  10. Welcome to Oceania! http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/xbox-ones-kinect-discerns-heartbeat-and-who-has-the-controller/ And this thing is always connected to boot: http://www.theverge.com/2013/5/21/4352596/the-xbox-one-is-always-listening An always-on camera, with a connection to the mothership, that can monitor your heart beat, has infrared sensors, watches you in the dark, and is still somewhat working when turned off! Nice bit about the skin color detection and facial detection. I guess it just wasn't creepy enough. Used game-sales are blocked and regulated, but that's a given.
  11. NuMicrosoft has done it again and p***ed off lots of people: 235.000 views and 25.000 comments within a day.
  12. I guess lots of "normal" people feel this way about Windows 8. All those "fast and fluid" tards should read it.
  13. Dot Matrix appears in the comments and p***es everyone off. It's quite staggering how he's able to generate so much controversy even on a fanboy infested site like Neowin. He even begins to annoy the Windows 8 fans. There are more than enough hints that he's a paid shill, but are his superiors aware of his "work"? He drives more people away than he converts.
  14. ( image source ) Photoshop ReTard Edition. And, there's the hook too - DLC ( like in-game purchases ). Well they got the target demographic mSheep all neatly corralled in a walled garden just waiting for them. Naturally the often-mentioned MetroTard-in-chief cannot help but to jump in to the comments, say something ridiculous and get slapped around for a while. DotMatrix: But, but, I thought Photoshop wouldn't work in Metro... This is utterly hilarious. The shill school must have low standards. I guess payment is depended ONLY on the word count or the amount of threads, not the content.
  15. Thurrot using Start8 is no real shocker. On the Technet forums there is a very obnoxious Windows 8 fanboy called Colakid. And it looks like he's using a start menu replacement as well. See this thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w8itprogeneral/thread/20e61453-4f9c-40ef-83c7-4739c46d59d4 Lots of those fanboys aren't using Windows 8 like it's "supposed to be".
  16. There is some hot leap of logic there: The first part is another great example of the slave mentality in IT. People cling to XP? That should give MS a hint to either prolong XP's life for a fee (like I've argued on C9) and/or don't screw up future Windows versions. W8 is obviously NOT what all these XP users want. Instead the CUSTOMER gets blamed.
  17. Looks like Google finally noticed that Eclipse sucks and they are switching to a far better (free) product for Android development: http://android-developers.blogspot.de/2013/05/android-studio-ide-built-for-android.html The Jetbrains stuff runs circles around Eclipse. And isn't too far away from Visual Studio. VS is one of the main things keeping Microsoft afloat. If that falls..
  18. Irony parade: http://www.whymicrosoft.com/Pages/vmware.aspx ... Microsoft is far above such practices and mismanagements however.
  19. Microsoft opened up a gem of a website: whymicrosoft.com It teaches why you should chose Microsoft over Google and other competitors. That one is quite funny: http://www.whymicrosoft.com/pages/google-apps.aspx "One size fits none" Irony explosion right here, given that they are doing everything to kill their traditional solutions - killing off Small Business Server, price-hiking the normal Office versions. And "one size fits none"? Look who's talking!
  20. Apple declined? There's also a nice cognitive dissonance going at with the metrotards here. They acknowledge that the PC market is declining (they blame everything else except W8 for this though), yet they believe that Microsoft sells as many Windows 8 licenses per month as they did with Windows 7! Doesn't compute. If the market is declining, Microsoft can't sell the same amount of Windows licenses like they did one year ago. Most of the "sold licenses" are on computers that are still sitting at warehouses.

  22. Quote: Many years ago?! I know that these kiddies have a skewed timeframe, but still.. Android is just two years younger than Windows Phone. They act as if it's on the market for ten years or something, BS. And when Android appeared, the market was pretty stuffed with WinMobile (irony), IOS and Symbian. Yet Android was able to not only to create a market for it, but to outpace all competitors. If WP would be any better, it would had a sizable marketshare by now. Android's headstart isn't that huge, unlike what the shills pretend.
  23. I wonder if the Neowin staff is all too happy about the mSheep? The metrotards lash out even at Neowin if they make a break from insanely hyping W8 and WP.
  24. From Neowin: http://www.neowin.net/news/start-menu-reviver-brings-a-free-touch-friendly-menu-to-windows-8#comment-2199973 That tards propose some arcane solutions, like running the unsearchable run window (win+r) as a replacement for the start menu.
  25. Don't get Skyped! [sk*ai*ped] Word Origin: Microsoft's invasion of privacy at Skype, while being insanely hypocritical about its competitors. http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/Skype-with-care-Microsoft-is-reading-everything-you-write-1862870.html
