  1. I had this same issue and the FAT16 install worked for me in the end. I could use F5 and select Standard 486 PC to get the install finished. Once that worked I had a whole other set of problems (no multi proc etc) htat had to be slogged through but the thing did eventually install with FAT16 formatted partition on the destination drive.
  2. Thanks tomasz... I'm not sure I applied Update Rollup 2 before UURollup... Perhaps that had some impact. Will let you all know what happens when I get the laptop back
  3. Thanks AnX Actually I am quite familiar with uurollup and the extended kernels I will try modifying the inf file like the other thread i saw where you take out the .x86 etc from the file. Where can I find the application compatibility launcher? I have uurollup installed on another PC (main) and I don't see it. Thanks!
  4. Hi all, Do any of you happen to have ever installed win2k on an acer netbook (ao722-0879)? I was able to get through the installation using Standard PC (F5) but could not find 1 driver for either the wifi or network card. Pretty frustrating. It uses an AMD C-60 processor. I tried all the xp drivers for atheros, AMD, and broadcom but could not get any to work. Any ideas?
  5. thank you all This was a very helpful thread
  6. Hello all. Someone from elsewhere in the internet tubes mentioned to me today that Win2k would support 4GB of total RAM in a system only. That included both video and system RAM. That sounded pretty off base and I have never heard it before. Is this true? I'm using the /PAE switch now and have 4GB registered with a video card using 512MB of RAM and things seem to be fine. Am I missing something? Thanks
