there is a program called system restore remover that can remove the system file protection,if he makes one there should be a requierment before installing the sp that you need it and will not install it without using that app
i've had win me stable but i had to format it within a few days

adding NTFS read/write support to the service pack would be a very helpful thing, like if you had NTFS drives on your comp and you could read em,but maybe the sp would add it if it sees or detects NTFS partitions
right now it won't be added but it will bei bet for v 2.1 of the sp
also MS Installer 3 is not compatible with windows 98 se
also 98lite can remove that msn and online service thingy

if you visit windows update n get the updates there you won't need sp2 beta 2

Famer the way you can tell if it's sp1 or not is to right click my computer then click properties, under general it will tell you, also i do have the xp without the sp(the pro version)but it's crap, the sp1 makes it better

well the service pack is good for those that have crappy internet and for those that don't wnat to do those things that it does it for you
if you got a real good internet and wanna do all the things the sp can do then go official n do it yourself but don't use beta sp's only official unoficial sp's
