  1.

You guys probably should be using this theme changer script then => http://rghost.net/download/7Jq5KBxFc/f9ce1d8a247a391c129a60dde932c9093192c0f0/Set%20Theme.cmd

All that manual click here and there is a time waster..

    What does it exactly do

What does it do? Well if you Read my1's post #259 it will Reset your custom them Back to the Windows Default Aero theme for You. All in One click of the mouse. So in other words set your Custom theme to 'Aero7' then before logging off or restarting click on the Theme Changer file to set back to the default.

  2. I tried UxStyle_0241_x86_x64_rel2_preview, UltraUXThemePatcher 2.5.4, UXTheme Multi-Patcher 14.1, and BigMuscles UxThemeSignatureBypass. All causes my explorer to stuff up. But all works on Win10 9926 x86 but not x64

The 'Stuffing Up' as you put it is because Windows10 explorer doesn't like us 'Messing' with the System, So like My1 said above 'Switch Back' or just Enable the default theme Before your log-off or reboot.

  3. Yep I personally can confirm that 'UxStyle' will brick your Win10 system, I used 'UltraUXThemePatcher_2.5.2.exe' without any issues on my custom visual style theme.

also, My1 are you referring to injecting the theme with the 'UxThemeSignatureBypassAero.dll' file?

    http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170945-uxtheme-signature-bypass/

    ~DP

UxStyle? certainly not, it bugged my Win10 rather often

rather use BM's DLL and put that in AppInit_DLLs (seperate with space or comma so no spaces in path)

  4. Just reporting your ModernFrame.dll with Apps is working great, finally allowing my theme buttons to show up!

    Modern Frame Removal for Win10

Since Windows 10 has not been released yet, I'm not creating separate topic for this but putting it into this one. I'm going away for a fey days so I'm leaving you here small unfinished tool which removes that ugly grey title bar on windowed modern applications. Currently, there are some limitations:

    • only 64-bit debug build
    • it is intended for testing only and not for regular usage (use it on your risk and don't complain about console window)
    • it needs to be injected via old AppInit_DLLs registry value = secure boot off (you can check my website guide)
    • symbol file for ApplicationFrame.dll needs to be present - if you install into Aero Glass folder (where dbghelp.dll and symsrv.dll is present), it will do it automatically
    • fullscreen is not handled correctly - no button to switch to fullscreen, no overlay titlebar in fullscreen
    • plain backgrounds on modern applications are not rendered at all - you will probably see completely black instead of specific color (e.g. in modern application splash screen)
    • probably more buggy than I think :-D
    • no icon on titlebar, because I don't know how to get icon for modern application (regular WM_GETICON does not work)

    Just kill ApplicationFrameHost.exe after install.

  5. Yes productivity with today's technology in the field can be very useful especially when working with schedules and a timeline, having been self employed in the construction industry myself for over 40 years but now retired I saw the benefits of using smartphones, laptops and tablets on the job sites. I just recently had to have a home inspection done and the inspector setup a hotspot off his phone to his tablet wrote up everything with photos etc then printed out my report in under 30 minutes, a far cry from the 'good ole days' when everything was drawn up by hand and brought back to the office to write it all up for a second time and then email back (or worse snail mail) to the client.

  6. = Custom Atlas Changer Tool  For Windows 10 and AeroGlass =

    Info:

    - Easily add custom atlas theme files on the fly without having to manually go into the registry or hacking system files.

    - Quickly restores back to Windows default theme buttons if needed.

    - Tested and fully working with "Aero Glass for Win8.1+ v1.3.1" and "Windows 10 Technical Preview".

    - Install Aero Glass ==>: http://www.glass8.eu/download.html first if not already installed.

    - Then download Atlas Changer Tool ==>: http://ge.tt/9qMY5xA2/v/0 (remove .txt extension after download)

  7. Don't forget to taskkill dwm to reload AeroGlass as well.

    ~DP

    'Stop and Start Dwm.exe for AeroGlassIf WScript.Arguments.length =0 Then Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application") objShell.ShellExecute "wscript.exe", Chr(34) & _ WScript.ScriptFullName & Chr(34) & " uac", "", "runas", 1ElseSet WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")Set oExec=WshShell.Exec("taskkill /F /IM dwm.exe")Set oExec= NothingEnd If
  8. no problem, but I dont think you can turn off secure boot in a script installer (lol)

I assume you need it since the theme SIg override also needed it off...

also require Signed AppinitDLls or whatever should also be off or it probably wont work as well, have to try that when I have time, especially secure Boot since you cant really use that on VMs...

Well am using a 'older' laptop to do all my testing on so secure boot is a non-issue otherwise Yes it would have to be disabled in the bios..

  9. Hello. I've come across an issue. I mistakenly applied a registry key to my registry editor. Noted in the screenshot. "fix-current-user.reg" which I had downloaded from MSFN. Now my aero doesn't work. I have windows 8.1 and here are my registry entries. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Check your PM hydro and let me know if that works for ya..

    ~DP

  10.

could you give us a shot of the same place in the HKCU? espeically since the currentuser reg is supposed to fix in the HKCU and the HKLM gets overridden by the HKCU.

I can't find it in HKCU?

If your unsure of doing the registry manually then just shoot me a PM and I will send you over a Aero Enabler for 8.1 that should work for you..

  11.

I LIKE it! thanks for the screenshot dhjohns and bm for providing this..

ps: dhjohns since there have been issues enabling this feature you may want to provide a step by step tutorial for others.

    ~DP

No issues at all.  Just follow these instructions --

    1.  Download ModernFrame.7z (the real DLL is now there) from Big Muscle's link, as provided in post 192.

    2.  Extract  ModernFrame.dll and save it into the C:\AeroGlass folder (if you have the other file already there just replace it.)

    3.  Open RegEdit and navigate to:

         HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

    4.  Add C:\AeroGlass\ModernFrame.dll to the AppInit_DLLs value.  In my case it was empty to start with.

    5.  Change the LoadAppInit_DLLs value to:  0x00000001

    6.  Reboot or Log out then back in.

    7.  Start any Modern App.  In my case the The Weather Channel App.

You will see an extra CMD window showing symbols downloading, etc.  Just minimize this along with the normal debug window!

Thanks Djohns and My1 ! Just sounds like a lot of rig-a-mo-roe manually, perfect situation for a script installer tho..
