What is wrong about Mobility Center? It works as expected here.
-
That's what I thought. I knew that Glass works fine, perfect in normal mode except for the dark inactive window. Hopefully, your control panel will not have this glich. Please, do not report any glitches if you use AGTweaker. The settings which it alters are not supported by my AeroGlass and it even does not respect DWM colorization rules/ranges, thus it can result in completely wrong behaviour.

Does that happen when you do not alter device feature level?

Aero Glass Tweaker GUI for Win8 v1.3.2
bigmuscle replied to ORelio's topic in Aero Glass For Windows 8+
Nope, do not report these popups because they come from development debug build which was intended only for testing of the surface render target fix -
How to reproduce? Simply moving mouse to the upper left corner does not break anything here...
-
I do not see anything wrong in your image (in relation in my AeroGlass implementation).

Sorry to everyone I have not respond to his PM. Currently I don't have much time so I only quickly read the messages. On the other side, I'm trying to work hard to provide usable beta soon.

Could this be useful?

This is what I don't understand since the beginning. There were many posts "It does not work for me so I did system restore" but why this? AeroGlass does not perform any change into the system so there is nothing to restore. If something gets broken, it is because user modified something on his own. Yes, there is a small registry script to install the thing, but it is very short so anyone can check what is being changed, save the original registry key and restore it later.

I guess this is a bit misunderstanding how final color is constructed and even AGTweaker does not construct it correctly. I mentioned this before but since, by default, inactive frames are rendered with 1/5 intensity (ColorBalance) and 1/5 transparency (BlurBalance) of the active frame settings (it depends on the used theme but constant of 1/5 seems to be used in the majority of the themes) it may look that nothing changes when only color setting is modified. The final version might provide GUI which allows to set the inactive color properly. I'm just trying to figure out whether it is not possible to inject additional controls directly into Windows Control panel.

You are probably using native blur method. Yes, that's what I wrote ^^ Is this behavior "intended"? I was blind but yes, it is intended. I only reimplemented a very small part of code (in the reality only call "blur this shape") to compare the visual and performance differences between my and native implementation (i.e. if there is some bug in my algorithm I can check if it my fault or it is by DWM design). This mode isn't going to be maintained or fixed at all.

Aero Glass Tweaker GUI for Win8 v1.3.2
bigmuscle replied to ORelio's topic in Aero Glass For Windows 8+
You are using theme resource which is not compatible with your "msstyles" theme. -
According to the debug log, it is 0.8 and you have tried only 11.0 and 11.1 device feature levels. Device levels 9.x or version 0.85 should work,
-
dskiller: which version do you have? If you have < 0.8 than it can be caused by layered windows hack. If you have 0.8 then 1) you have incompatible DWM DLLs which falls back to layered windows (you can find info in debug log), 2) try enabling native mode (see UseNativeBlur in changelog) to compare if it still happens.

My "taskbar blur" code is nothing special than if explorer says "we don't want blur behind taskbar" I rewrite the message with "we want blur behind taskbar" and when explorer says "enable accent on the taskbar" I rewrite it with "don't enable accent on the taskbar". Nothing special for this. Actually, the default theme can look good when suitable colorization settings is selected.
-
This looks good. The customer preview had also a bit different captions buttons: I'm also thinking of having some default theme for AeroGlass utility. Something like "default value for CustomThemeResource" so when user runs it for the first time, it will change Windows 8 theme to my default. But I guess we can't use any theme from any Win Beta/RC/RTM due to licensing reasons.

Aero Glass Tweaker GUI for Win8 v1.3.2
bigmuscle replied to ORelio's topic in Aero Glass For Windows 8+
Actually, I don't understand how clicking a messagebox once two hours discourages anyone after 5 or 30 minutes... -
I did, and both does not work. It causes DWM to crash and causes the black screen error. Does it crash even without my aeroglass? What's wrong with this? Does that explorer really sends (235,235,235) to colorize the taskbar?
-
Because AeroGlass does not support any settings to adjust the blur. Opacity is adjusted by slider in Windows Control panel.

Ha! You've got it! That's it! And it appears over and over again. I explained milliontimes the reason of the popup message and people were writing again and again about it. I said milliontimes that I don't want to earn any money and people are still writing over and over again that I want to earn money. It is just a bit of comedy bews: that's another point. This text was written in the console window of version 0.1 and 0.2. People say that they will pay for final version, but why they didn't donate when this message was here in the previous versions? Instead they were searching for the way how to remove the window with this information. Interesting...

Many testing software does not even let you run it for more than 30 minutes and then it closes. And no tester has a problem with it. There is only one kind of users who complain about it - those one who does not want to test anything. And I again repeat that this was not intention of my releases. If you don't want to test than don't use it. Yes, you can say milliontimes "I want to test but that popup message stops me from testing" but I can only answer that it's the lie. People who say this just ended up downgrading to some very old version - and this only shows that they does not want to test anything, because it has no testing sense to use old very buggy version with degraded performance and many security bugs. Yes, it solves only one thing - it stops/annoys you using the software if your intention is not the testing/previewing.
-
At the beginning, I didn't want to release any preview version. My plan was to show screenshots only, test it in closed group and provide free open-source application when I implement all basic things I had planned. It was my good will that I provided preview/testing version to the public. And people started to complain that they can't use it in a way which it was not intended to. Ok, crack it.. do everything what you want, it is not my problem, I can't stop it and I don't even want to stop it from cracking. I just see a bit rude to talk about cracking and releasing cracked version here, in the official support thread. And this is what I won't support and it is why I'm returning to my original plan - test only in the closed group and I will release the public version later. When? When it is done. Free or paid? I don't know, I must decide - I don't want to earn any money on this (the new programming skills are enough to me) and I know that many people will crack it again without paying, so... many years ago, I developed paid application and nobody was able to crack it (in the sense that forums were full of requests to crack it but nobody ever did it), so I could implement similar mechanism but why? To increase the binary size and stopping it to be light-weight as much as possible?

I will only repeat myself, but again. I develop this utility in my free time, just for fun and to learn new things. I made preview of this available which was not intended for normal usage at all, with many bugs and many debugging things included. And people started to search for the way how to remove background discreet console window (which was intended for serious debug messages). So this just convinced me that people does not want any preview of anything and they are not interested in any testing (how could anyone test it if he is searching for the way how to remove debug messages?). Thus I added one-hour preview notification window and made the statement that this version is not for regular usage. That's it. So if anyone wants to use it for different usage than testing, then he uses it against the conditions of this software. If anyone disassembles/modify this software so it can be used under different conditions than he infringes the copyright of this software. And sorry, I won't support such behaviour. If anyone does not like the behaviour of this piece of software that he should not use it at all. You can always move to the alternates - e.g. move to WindowBlinds and start complaining that they don't give you any preview which you could crack. From deltebews' posts, I understand that he's going to spread his cracked version everywhere and thus there is no reason why I should support him in cracking any following versions with many bugfixes. I'm still continuing in development of this application but I will not share any new public version at this time. If you use your computer for playing games then you should not use AeroGlass at all. It is not intended for such usage.
