I bless you for your frameworklite, and i would be really disappointed if you had to stop that. I fight every day not to have .net framework getting on my pc, and it's getting harder and harder, even some games use it now. Why bother about that now ? You've been working for long now on nlite and mikerosoft obviously knows about it, and never seemed to worry about. Eternal Thanks for your work.

Slipstreaming SP3 [what's proper?]

Oh my god, we waited so long for a buggy service pack, great, as usual ... -
Silent Install Nero Burning Rom 8.3.6.0 (8.x.x.x)
xyu replied to MillenX's topic in Application Installs
I encoutered the same problem JasonKiller had. Silent install stoping itself, without any message, but working after a reboot. I may not understand all that was said very well, but does it means there's no way of (silently) installing without a reboot. I call the installer from my [GuiRunOnce] batch file. Would it mean that it is no possible, using this method, to add nero 8 to my unattended windose install? -

What application did you run ? I only installed burning rom and didn't experience what you described. -
HOTFIXES: Win2000 SP4, WinXP SP2, WinXP SP3 and Win2003 SP2
xyu replied to the_guy's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Someone has been a badouista ^^ Anyway Nilfred, you can cry your eyes out, the_guy doesn't seems to be agree with you, kb925902 is still in the list, and I don't know why but I tend to trust the boss of this thread a lot more than someone who can't argue at all or explain why he think he's right. -

HOTFIXES: Win2000 SP4, WinXP SP2, WinXP SP3 and Win2003 SP2

I had some odd problems after integrating these hotfixes (925398, 927891, 939373, on xp sp2, wmp10, ie6) to my last unattended cd. Installation was going quite well but daemon-tools v3.47 (^^), for the first time in years, didn't install, even when launch afterwards on the fresh install. Then I tried to install nero (not slipstreamed, but on the new install), the trial package (v7.10.1.0 from nero.com) just crashed everytime, especially when executing msi (first it decompress the 7z archive and then launch the ms installer, I checked with process explorer several times). It drove me mad as the rest of the unattended installation seemed to look normal (aside of d-tools). Then I also had problems patching supreme commander, wich also use msi, now . I didn't test any further and made an unattended cd without the last 3 hotfixes I mentionned, and I can now install nero and patch supcom ^^. I have to make some more testing to clarify. -

Great thanks for the update, at least one person was waiting for it ^^ What about the kb923689 patch for XP, published on the 10th of july, is it the same as the kb925398-v2 ? There's something I don't understand. -

I burn all my unattented iso with the "disk-at-once" option, in that case it didn't seem to be the problem. It was clearly the use of a cd or a dvd. Keep in mind that it has to do with our dvd-drive (Mine is a Pioneer DVR-111D) !. People using cds on cd-drives are not concerned by this bug.
-
Unbelievable !!! That's it. I burn it on dvd and didn't get the weirdest bug I've ever seen. Thanks again.
-
Great to hear thoses news. Now that you mention it, I can't recall using a unattended cd on this computer, until now ... I'll try and tell you. I also wonder what burning program did you use ? Greetings.
-
It still doesn't work and begins to drive me crazy. I made an unattended cd without nlite at all, and i get the same crc error.
-
I've tried to install on an IDE drive but it still get the same error, even if I unplug the sata drive, so I think it has nothing to do with the s-ata or u-ata drive, but it has to depends on the motherboard. Let me know on which motherboard you experienced that bug, mine is an "ASUS A8N-SLI Premium" (nForce4). I'll also try to make an unattended install without nlite at all, I'll tell you if it works.
-
Seeing a CRC error, I first tought about a too-much-used-CDRW or a bad burning, so I've tried with two other cds and two other versions. I feel quite relieved not to be the only one seeing that very same bug. I also experienced the same weird fact that the unattended cd works on a computer without sata, but doesn't work on mine filled only with sata. It seems obvious now that it is not a random bug but it depends on the materials. I keep searching ... A way to bypass that bug may be to use an older version of nlite (if the bug comes from it), or if it's generated by one of the latest official hotfixe.

This one is very simple, as any other service in windos. Simply add in your reg file. ;00000002 = Automatic ;00000003 = Manual ;00000004 = Disabled ;Cyberlink PowerDvD 7 RichVideo.exe [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RichVideo] "Start"=dword:00000004

arghh, bad news, but great thanks for sharing them... As they use NSIS installer, the /S switch always works but they blocked silent install with that loosy internet update box. Looks like i'll have to do it with a script ://
-
so i assume that nobody here can help me with NSIS installers. People can find lot of procedures for nsis packages on this forum, but no help ? i was really hoping to find some competent user here, but seems to me that i'll have to learn nsis tricks by myself.
-
of course i took the non-pro version, in which there IS a 6 months trial of divx pro. In the Divx Play Bundle, if you're not careful, you'll catch pro version too ^^
-
/S still works, but is there anyway to set the install options right, i don't want that 6 months divxpro trial, and i guess that's the default setting when installing silently. I'm almost sure NSIS installers give that kind of tools, but my english and coder skills are too poor to get me through the nsis support.
-
The new version of matroska pack asks the user if he wants to update codecs on the internet, preventing the silent install. /S is still working with matroska v1.1.1 but i need something (i prefer switches ^^) to get rid off that Yes/No Box. I really hope to find a simple and sure way to silently install that without using some barbarian script as *.js for example Thanks.
-
Thanks for your help, you must be right i'll have to get rid off divx. But i'm still surprised that nobody knows how to bypass that pro trial ...
-
I found lot of post about how to register divx pro but i need to know how to install just divx and not the 30 days trial for divx pro. Can anyone help me ? Thanks
