  1. I seem to have found the trouble with windows update and it reaching 100% very quickly. In the IE Explorer window, If under - Tools > Options > Languages you DO NOT have a language listed you will get this error. As you can see this will also happen if the date on the computer is off by too much. My troubles were that the language was not set.

Scan quickly reaches 100% and displays “There are no updates available” message / log file lists error 0x800C0008 or 0x80072EE4

    Problem Description:

When you use the Windows Update scan feature, the scan quickly reaches 100%, and then displays the "There are no updates available at this time" message. The log file contains error 0x800c0008 or 0x80072EE4.

    Resolutions:

The error is caused by SSL (Secure Socket Layer). The scan process requires SSL and if the date and time on your computer varies too much from the valid date and time of the SSL certificates on Windows Update, the process will fail. Please verify that your computer’s date and time are accurate and that the Internet Explorer language option is not empty.

To check the language setting in Internet Explorer:

    1. Click "Tools" and then select "Internet Options".

    2. Click "Languages".

    3. Make sure at least one language is listed in the "Language Options" dialog box.

Please delete the Internet cache and cookies.

    1. Click "Tools" and then select "Internet Options".

    2. Click "Delete Cookies".

    3. Click "Delete Files".

    Issue Applies To:

    Windows 2000

    Windows XP

  2. You can try reloading V4 which is the program that you load when you first go to Win Update. To do this you must first delete the existing V4 file..

Clear the Contents of the Windows Update Folder

1] Click Start, click Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.

2] In the left pane, double-click the Program Files folder.

3] In the left pane, double-click the Windows Update folder.

4] In the right pane, click the V4 folder, click Edit, and then click Invert Selection.

5] Press DELETE, and then click Yes to confirm.

READ THE NOTE BEFORE DOING THIS STEP!

6] Open the V4 folder, then in the right pane, click to select the IUHIST.XML file, click Edit, and then click Invert Selection.

7[ Press DELETE, and then click Yes to confirm.

    Note:

When you delete the IUHIST.XML file from the Windows Update folder, you clear the whole Windows Update installation history. Microsoft does not recommend that you do this because you lose your record of previous downloads. The steps in this section delete all your files except the IUHIST.XML file.

After this is done simply go to Windows update and allow V4 to be loaded again...

    I hope this helps.

    :)

I did this and for some reason all it did was add the temp folders and the txt and cab files back in to the v4 folder. I still can't get it to update.

  3. Um Cuervo are you compensating for something?

Why yes, I am compensating for something.

I total lack of style and horsepower by those "jap" cars in these movies. :) This 540 CI big block makes more then 1000 hosepower with just a 10% overdrive on the blower. And that's on pump gas without nitrous.

If you look at the link someone put up about nitrous, not NAWS (kids), you see it has a long hitsory for making "cheap" horsepower. These small motors that can't make ponies need this stuff to make any kind of time slips.

  4. This is more for my own information/education.

Why would you use a server versions, even beta, on a laptop. That said, have you tired looking for updated drivers for say win2k server or maybe XP? They might install. Just a thought.

  5. Hey folks,

I see the link on the front page for Cat 3.4s so I went to check out ATI's site and they do not have them listed. Are these ones final public release?
