  1. Office 2003 Standard does support the /a flag. As far as your other issues...since you're going to make two different CDs, one with Pro and one with Standard, would it work in your scenario to install these from the network? In other words, have the CD point to the network for these installs. You can then grant user permissions based on Pro or Standard.
  2. I could be wrong but I don't think the + will work. I found this quote on a microsoft support site: The preceding syntax comment in this quote refers to what you'd see if you typed makecab /? at a command prompt. The last sentence leads me to believe that you have to use another method to add multiple files. Call me on this if I'm wrong about the + to add multiple files...
  3. RogueSpear - are you aware of the Installshield Tuner you can use to customize an install? I have used it for the full version of Acrobat but I have for the install of the Reader and it works very well.
  4. I process my registry entries exactly as gunsmokingman mentions using the cmdlines.txt file.
  5. I'm curious to see if your reghacks will work well using RunOnce. I don't currently apply them using this method.
  6. Oh ok, this is what I do. So my method is fine then. Thanks for the followup.
  7. I think I found an answer for you and I apologize for not testing it before hand but take a look at this link. You should be able to create a reghack from the info here. http://www.kixhelp.com/udfs/udf/83411.htm
  8. Hey bledd, could you be a little more specific?
  9. Could you post your regtweaks...or at least the ones that don't work so we can check them out?
  10. I've actually copied an Admin profile to default user and then had non-admin users log in. I haven't noticed a problem doing it that way that I'm aware of. Would you mind filling me in on what problems this could cause or any concerns I should have when doing this?
  11. You know nmX.Memnoch I think you're right about that. I forgot that I used this method before I changed it to a GPO.
  12. Could you describe another way what you're trying to do? I'm a little confused on what you mean about a reboot.
  13. You're very welcomed. I may call on you the next time I get hung on something if that's ok.
  14. What can't be done? The reg hack or changing the location of My Documents? If you mean actually changing the location we've done it where I work. Am I reading something incorrectly?
  15. So does it end up installed? Like it's a silent install or something?
  16. See if this helps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289125
  17. One way is to configure the settings for a local user then copy this profile to Default User. Each subsequent user that logs into this PC will get these settings.
  18. Try something like this: ;Change location of my documents [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders] "Personal" ="C:\\My Data" "My Video" ="C:\\My Data\\My Video" "My Music" ="C:\\My Data\\My Music" "My Pictures"="C:\\My Data\\My Pictures" "Favorites" ="C:\\My Data\\Favorites" or if you use Active Directory it can be done with a policy.
  19. Frank Calendo (not sure if I spelled this right)
  20. I tried it on my XP box and it found the file, however I installed this reg hack. See if this makes a difference. ;Change Search Behavior - Enable searching of all file types [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\ContentIndex] "FilterFilesWithUnknownExtensions"=dword:00000001
  21. It's been so long since I've used Netware (the good ole days) that I can't remember off the top of my head how to do this. I'll have to pass this to someone else. Good luck!
  22. Here's Microsoft's answer which makes sense and is info I can use:
  23. How long does the install take?
  24. InViSibLe Gr is right - enter your start page but don't click Use Current. However, I doubt this will fix your problem if you can't get to any website by typing the address. Sounds like spyware to me.
  25. I do not have a runonce.inf file in my install.
