ok i need to use htaccess quick but dont know what i need. i am using vbulletin and need to use htaccess so you cant see anything until a password is entered. anyone any help? cheers anything appreciated

hmmm. i am using a very cool and cheap host at the moment although i do like the sound of your free domains heh. my current host is 20 pound a year that supports everything , perl,mysql,php4 etc etc and is 500mb of hosting with just about unlimited transfer as they dont really check it and most other users dont really have much transfer so it just makes up for it. also their good and speedy with their customer support (generally just one gyuy called nathan lol). check it out here

i would personally go with amd as i think they are better than p4's. also if you want to pay loadsa money wait for the amd 2.8 gig like i am. amd's are simple and they are a good range of high quality boards available. as mentioned check out tomshardware and overclockers etc.

strange. i have an overclocked geforce2 GTS with XP Pro and im running my monitor slightly out of its range as its just a standard monitor at 85hz with no trouble but i also have the nVidea refresh rate fix which also sorts stuff out with games . sounds like a strange problem, cant help ya with that sorry bud.

still think ill get a radeon 8800 in a couple of months tho when my pc build is complete ;D as it is visually better than the Ti4600 although the Ti4600 offers ludicres fps. The 8800 is what im gonna get heh.

xp does handle games better than any other os i have tried it is stable as. and all the games i have tried work perfectly with no problems at all.

my other had a mistake in it.this one is now ok. =note when re-doing your start button you have to delte original-explorer.exe from c:windows to be able to save you edited start button...jay

i knew about this a while ago but ive only recently been arsed to do anything about it so heres my start button. :brolly

while i was running zone alarm pro i noticed that really slowed down my boot up.also when i removed it it still took ages to boot an i had to wait for floppy to clunk.i didnt however know that it was zonealarm at this time though. then by running the command msconfig (using run in start) i noticed true vector (part of zone alarm stil booted with my pc).also for those who dont use zone alarm and have a lot of software you can choose what u want to start when you boot.now this tip is for all running xp,do start run msconfig,go to services and uncheck the box next to workstation

ok everybody i have spoken to reckons its a driver problem.i am in the middle of getting the driver but the path was wrong its ftp://ftp.kaktus.ahoj.pl/kaktus/kamery/in...-2000driver.exe .and as for the compatability thing you can run the cam as 98 it just runs.ill try the drivers and see what happens from there thanks for the link tho m8 :WTF?: now i haven tried the win2k driver the cam can not initialise under using it so it isnt any use. ps can i just ask why you have a gforce 2 mx as ur avatar lol!

i just got an intel cs110 webcam that came with a load of software for 98 most of wich was no use an i couldnt istall.i managed to install some though by running it as win98.then i went tro intel i downloaded the cs110-xp drivers which are now installed.the camera uses microsoft wdm image capture (win 32}.now the problem is when i first boot my pc up an i click on the camera in my computer it will work for a few seconds and then freeze.after that it will lock up an an error will occur in my computer.an the cam will not initialise until i reboot again.also if i use the cam in netmeeting it doesnt start.or is i use it in msn it lasts a few seconds,freezes and cuts out.soo im begging some one to sort me out pleeeeeeeeeeeeease. ..ta jay :blueteam

i hear some people have a supraexress modem that keeps trying to reinstall on startup. i have the same modem but with xp drivers so there is no problems. i will put a reply to this post soon with the drivers on as i am at college now...ta jay
